  1. Ask them to send a picture of the map they have at Bkk with the stops.
  2. I would call scam and goto immigration myself. Some of these people if you pay like that they just think up a new way to charge you, or the "fee" goes up in the future. It's kind of enabling them in a way. The next time you renew your lease maybe you have a list of all the docs needed and she provides them all at signing.
  3. Because they are stupid. There must be a reason why you can afford to pay more, right? You could be morally superior, smarter, etc.
  4. Try doing it online. Demand any needed documentation from your landlord! If they don't give up the documents needed, it's a scam.
  5. A bridge is not really a denture and they cost the same as an implant typically, it's a permanent restoration. Personally, I just don't like the idea of implants. You definately need to know all your options though, be sure to ask your dentist! Some of the older guys in my condo building don't have anything, just missing teeth. That really makes them look old! They seem happy though so I guess one gets used to it.
  6. It's three crowns basically, the center crown where the tooth is missing sits above the gumline and is secured in place by the crowns on either side. The problem with a bridge is that two teeth need to be crowned so it's grinding down two teeth just to have the one space filled (unless they need to be crowned anyway, so you're not losing anything).
  7. Op, have you considered a bridge? Much less invasive then an implant. It feels like they like to sell implants here and I'm always hearing about them, but they should be a last resort.
  8. Seems like there should be! Have never heard of one. Open a Facebook group maybe.
  9. Forget Pattaya for an implant, goto Bangkok where the good facilities are. I almost had a root canal re-done in Pattaya and no place had the microscope needed. I just goto Bangkok now.
  10. I used to work as a personal assistant for a lady that had 'chronic fatigue syndrome'. An additional symptom was body pain, kind of like the nerve pain you mentioned. She said acupuncture used to work, but only if she kept going to regular sessions, as it seemed to be only temporary relief for about a week or so. Seemed like physical ailments to her, but I always wondered if there was a big psychological component to it. Maybe there are some spas in Chiang Mai that do acupuncture or oriental medicine.
  11. That's actually not a bad price for emergency medical treatment.
  12. I feel like I would not know what to do if that happened and they were not around. Call the 1669 number I guess, or hope a good samaritan helps.
  13. That would be a disaster in an emergency if I were living alone. Good reason to repatriate back to home country when a lot older and medical issues start appearing. In the Usa they have those alert services where you just press a button and they come.
  14. What happens if I'm having a heart attack?
  15. I think you're right that it's more of an investment and money oriented. Feels like they just buy anything, like Americans would do with the stock market. Reminds me of the seafood buffet, just grabbing whatever you can as fast as possible 🤣. I saw a few families on the news that bought some of those Evergrande units to live in, but I think the vast majority were just investors. Even it it just sits there empty as a shell it's viewed as an investment.
  16. I wonder how many of these people really want to live in Thailand, or if they are just seduced by the low prices. There must be some reason most units just sit empty.
  17. FYI, there are international accounts you can get for American's living abroad that don't have the address issues. Schwab international brokerage (comes with a debit card) is one, but it requires a 25k opening deposit.
  18. They are not knowledgeable about toxins here. Take your health in your own hands. Get a hotel somewhere for a few days until the vapor dissipates, then have the place cleaned when you return.
  19. I may take a trip to the phillippines to see what's up. Hearing good things about Dumaguete. I don't want to file at all, even if I don't end up owing.
  20. Hey man, good morning!
