  1. Most people don't live for anything. They just use up resources until they die.
  2. A non-stop flight is the LAST thing I want. Call me old but I like walking around a bit after about 10 hours, before the next segment.
  3. Can you tell us some stories about conditions there?
  4. The banner itself was at the beer garden. No, I don't typically like those kind of hole in the wall smaller bars that you pass on the way in. I don't like being the "center of attention", not my style. That's one of the reasons I don't like Pattaya much. Maybe that's what the Op means by "loud" bars, just not their style maybe. The beer garden is much more laid back.
  5. Why would you be putting the problem onto the vendor? Someone could later misinterpret the vendor having the keys. Proper course of action is to inform the police without handling the item. Same thing as in the airport. When you handle something you assume responsibility for it for a certain period of time when you have possession.
  6. Yeah, and why would someone ask if something is yours in a transit center? If they were concerned they would take it in themselves, not ask random strangers about it in the hopes of getting that one guy out of thousands who may have left it there.
  7. I think they do stings where they leave things in the bathroom. If you take it, even to return it, they grab you. Often they will even ask if it's yours, etc. Never get involved with luggage or other people's stuff in transit centers, buses, airplanes, trains, etc. It's not your problem. It's better to not engage with people at all in transit as they are not people you are ever going to see again anyway.
  8. It's because it's a nice place 🤣
  9. Yeah, that's it. Why aren't there ever freelancers there?
  10. I see emergency vehicles come through daily near where I am. Today, some foreigner guy crossed the street when the ambulance was approaching the other side of the intersection with lights and sirens blaring. It's like he thought he had the right of way because he was in the crosswalk, he had a green light, or??
  11. Strange. When I was there, there were single blokes drinking on their own looking at their cell phones, or people who arrived with a woman on a date doing the meal thing. I did not see one lady going stag in the place and it's on beach road. I did not even get a beer mat!
  12. Some of it is not having the right ingredients. They are not the same in Thailand so it never tastes just right. Even if they use imported ingredients it never seems to taste the same.
  13. I think some of these older guys seem to latch onto whomever is available. In many cases out of necessity 🤷🏻‍♂️. When you offer minimal assistance it feels like you are abandoning them if bigger issue arise if you just drop them. The question is what do you do if there is nobody else around to help out and they are going downhill? The easy answer is to contact family or send them "home", but that's not always realistic.
  14. I would live in one of those open air villa condo's in Puerto Vallarta. The problem is they are pretty expensive and rates jump way up in high season. Probably $1,500+ a month for a mid range one. I did a couple months periodically in PV over there and it was nice, but pricey long term. Another thing that bothered me about Mexico was the PDA's (Public displays of affection). People smooching and grabbing all over each other everywhere. After being in thailand it felt repulsive. It's much more then in the Usa or anywhere else I have been.
  15. Yes, right on the water. I think it's a restaurant also, with a huge bar in the center. I noticed a "Ladies Welcome" sign up which seemed a bit odd. Seems like the place would be full of freelancers, but it appears they avoid the place if they are solo for some reason.
  16. Just to be clear, that's much different then just making a run for it and wanting to fly out with nothing. He would have substitute documentation, even if it was not technically a passport. Now, at least for the USA, if you just show up at the border and claim citizenship I'm sure you can get in, even if you have to claim asylum. They just detain you until your citizenship is verified. Like a social security number, drivers license, passport record, whatever, but you have to make it to the border somehow. Everything is cross checked including pictures and fingerprints. One option would be to hire passage on a sea vessel via the black market or hire a boat (or even buy a vessel) and just take off. Then proclaim citizenship when intercepted by the coast guard in home country waters.
  17. Can he fly out on an expired passport, or no passport?
  18. Interpreting your ramblings in not my forte, Mr. Rothschild.
  19. They don't tend to pull over for emergency vehicles here like they do in other countries. It's more like they are just going around people. Part of it is that it's so crowded there is usually no place to move.
  20. I think he can just fly out and pay the fine like anyone else??
  21. I guess it would be for me. I would always probably want to chew my food.
  22. Thanks for confirming. If you want to add anything else please let us know 🤣.
  23. Yes. They recommended extraction based on the x-ray and were not willing to try or authorize a root canal procedure due to poor prognosis. The endodontist specialists who actually went in and worked on the teeth were able to save them both times. These were general dentists, not endodontist specialists, making the recommendation for extraction, without getting a specialist opinion first by the endodontist. Usually, you need to be referred to the endodontist by the general dentist.
