  1. Is it 100% his fault if she jumped the green light? Yes the car ran the red light, but if she entered the intersection without a green light (meaning she's on a red also), then it's a 50/50 fault right? When two vehicles enter a intersection without a green light (both running a red), one cannot say the other is at fault.
  2. According to the link to Siam Rath, the other driver is trying to say it's a 50/50 fault if she didn't have a green light (essentially making them both red light runners).
  3. I saw the light was red for the car (and yes, he ran the red), but I didn't see where the m/c had the green. As I posted earlier, there are intersections when when one light turns red, there's a 1-2 second delay till the other light turns green, it's used to prevent those trying to run the yellow-red. So we don't automatically know if the m/c had a green light (if I'm missing it in the vid, please point it out where it's showing green.)
  4. Is it 100% his fault IF the m/c driver jumped the green? I've seen some intersections where after one light turns red, there is a 1-2 second delay till the other light turns green. Yes the car ran the red light, but did the m/c actually have a green light?
  5. She had the green turn arrow, plus it looks like the car was trying to run the yellow light, it turned red and she must of quickly took off without looking.
  6. From the link; "He parked his lorry over the body to prevent other vehicles from causing further harm." That's makes no sense, why not just park directly behind the victim?
  7. Yes, yes, please yes ????. Good guys in, bad guys out.
  8. 555, That's the place I was going to mention ????
  9. As for the adult mix Thais I've interacted with, a lot depends on their education level. IMO the ones doing well in Thai society had both parents looking after them while growing up and the ones "less successful" are the ones where either the bargirl mother didn't know who the farang father was or in other cases, the known father just abandoned the kid, leaving them to struggle through Thai life.
  10. My half Thai/USA son does well in school here in M3, carries a good GPA, no bullying while in school, but when out and about with his school friends they will bump into the lower class Thai punks. His English speaking/reading skills always earn him top grades in the international school he attends. We thought of the family moving back to the US, but reconsidered as I'm sure his GPA would drop as he would of have to learn a whole new school system, subjects, etc.
  11. You mentioned they are for your balcony, so I'm guessing you live in a condo? Jomtien or Central Pattaya? Cause I know of a nice nursery but it's over on the Darkside (north end of town), as for if they deliver, remove; I have no idea, my wife used to buy from them and chat with them for advice (in Thai, I've never seen them speak English), and we have our own transportation, plus the Mrs used to be big on growing and selling plants, our garden is full of nice looking plants now. DM me what you're looking for and I'll pass it on to my wife, or just visit them yourself and see what they offer.
  12. Is that a farang thumb in the background?
  13. When the Mrs & I sold a patch of land, we did the advertising ourselves; online sites, hand made posters put up on the land & around the area (in English & Thai) and word of mouth. In the end, it was the signs we posted that got the most inquiries that led to the sale. Poster boards from Mr DIY, some waterproof markers & inexpensive wire and you're good to go.
  14. How hard is it to wave you hand saying "I don't need any help right now" or "I'll call you when I'm ready"? Some drama queens can make a simple task like reading a menu so tense, 555.
  15. I don't know the place, but I am familiar with the area, Na Jomtien is away from the tourist areas, tends to be quieter, more Thais than farangs.
  16. In your home country do the stores have signs written in Thia?
  17. Never lived with your Thai wife and the mother of your 11 y/o daughter, and now expecting things to work smoothly? 555.
  18. Just because you're greeted with a straight face or frown doesn't mean all farangs are, in my area even the 7-11 workers know me and happily great me. The local shops all know my name, my wife's name, my home, and always greet me with a hello and a smile, Try being friendly with the locals instead of looking at them with contempt.
  19. With you, you don't speak for everyone.
  20. And you know this how?
  21. Your smart phone isn't able to watch youtube videos? Assuming you're not Amish, get a pair of wireless earphones, a smart phone with internet access, then watch Youtube, Netflix, or any one of the hundred of streaming sites for free. Then you're free to pick & choose any gym that fits your needs.
  22. Thais have a pretty good memory, especially when it comes to money. If you're just a 2 week tourist, then no problem, but if you live here, you may want to be more considerate.
  23. I'm working on my wife's visa for her to live & work in the USA (green card), about a month ago when I needed to translate her birth certificate, we had it it done by a shop on Soi Post Office, then went to the Central Festival office and paid for the official stamp, there was a minor typo with the translation, the Central Festival government office circled what was wrong, we took it back to the Soi Post office shop and they fixed it free, then the government office stamped the translated birth certificate with no additional payment. As with many things in Thailand, YMMV.
