  1. Not really. LAZmall simply has better refund policy. 'Flagship' stores, 'should' be where the original products are sold from. Don't go by the name of store, as XiaomiMall is not, Xiaomi 'Flagship' is. If going to the original product's site, they usually have links to their official resellers. Which usually include LAZ, Shopee, U-buy, Central & HomePro for many products.
  2. Wallet use is for Thais only. I've had a few refunds to my BBL account via LAZ, and no issues. Info sent via email to LAZ, and refund shows up in about a week. 20k, 21k, 28k baht, some smaller, and one pending for 3550, as awaiting product pick up to be returned. Never a problem.
  3. As 1 more states, take an interest in his future, as it's your future also. See what his interests are, and you may be surprised he has a talent. Lots of hobbies develop into jobs, possibly even self employed. Change your attitude toward him, and have a serious 1 on 1, heart to heart talk with him. Treat him like an equal, as that might be all the motivation he needs.
  4. That's a really good fake, much better than the one in this vid. Android spelt wrong in ad. http://tiny.cc/djdruz Actually has the 'camera' molded into the body, rather than on top. Lots of photos, rare, in the LAZ reviews, something not seen before, and suspect them to be fake also. Aside from being a fake, nice looking phone for < 2000 & 1000 baht ???? I bought mine for the camera, but if just wanting a 'phone' & access to internet, there are probably worst phones out there for more. Box is a give away though. FAKE photo from LAZ review how to tell fake s21
  5. Just ask, apply for one, legal working age is 15 in Thailand. @18, he's an adult in my world, though legally, it's 20 in Thailand. He won't work at 18, then accept now, and get prepared to raise your grandkids ????
  6. You're being very generous. If ear infection due to fecal count is extremely possible, then it's F grade. I would not swim at HH beach, if so, definitely would keep head out of the water.
  7. Planned retirement a lot earlier. Could have done it in my 20s instead of 40s.
  8. Feel ya. 20 adult travelling yrs in USA, and covered what interests me, with few exceptions, and why I'm here. You will get bored here rather fast though, as really a small country. https://www.thetruesize.com/#?borders=1~!MTIzMjUxODU.Mjc3OTU3MA*OTU4MzA3MQ(MjEzMDc2ODA~!TH*NDkyNTM5MQ.MzM2MjE0NDY)MA
  9. Get a scooter, or motorcycle, backpack, and do OZ first, since having 30+k kms of coastline. Do about 100 kms a day, and that will take about 1 year alone. Or just overnight when your butt gets sore, explore the local area, till bored, then move on. May have to loop around again though, as you missed a few spots ???? When done with OZ, after a year or so, reassess. By then international travel should be easy.
  10. To the title, Yes, as wife is an added plus, but far from necessary. Live semi rural, so would have to improve my Thai vocabulary a bit more, maybe. Could easily get by with what little I know. Not fluent enough to engage in conversation, but enough to shop & order food. With translation apps (Google Lens) can read just about anything.

  12. Agree, if having your own transport, it's OK, as base, to explore the west & south of. I've done that occasionally, though actually enjoy simply staying where one would explore to, from HH instead the need to return. If going to Kaeng Krackan, then simple stay there, instead of day trip. Then when done there, hit the Pa La-U, and again, simply overnight there. Same if heading down to Pranburi, SRY, or Kuiburi area, simply stay there and avoid need to return to HH. Don't see any advantage to basing oneself at HH, aside from more food option. If heading to the nearby areas for the nature, then enjoy it overnight, as the sound of the forest are worth it, vs the sounds of traffic. Catch some nice sunsets also, lakeside as it dips behind the hills.
  13. No, that's a whole area by-pass, not something for local to avoid Phetkasem's congestion. There's the road running along the RR line, and helps a bit, but rush hour & weekends, just as bad. HH isn't that large, long or deep, to benefit the drive over to 37, and then drive back to 4. Time & kms needed, you might as well just sit in the traffic. With many of the 'inter-province' roads, that term being a stretch, with all the intersection on them, 37, 4, 2, 1, 11, 31, 41. If bypassing HH, then yea, 37 is much better 4, but if using to avoid 4's congestion, don't bother.
  14. I wish. If she's never been to USA, then not entitled to bennies. Maybe that $255 one time death payment, if that is even still on the books. Why many Thai wives to Yanks want to have children. That's good for about 20 yrs of steady income.????
  15. Men competing against women in sports should be the last straw, for any left who still watch sports. Pros competing against amateurs, the dosing, the 'fixed' competitions, the paid competitors just to show, along with non national ringers, if those weren't enough, then surely men vs women has got to break that camel's back. Didn't mention the silly woke protesting, how oppressed these millionaires upbringing was. Don't waste your time & money.
  16. Can't think of a reason to holiday or even overnight in HH. Only for R&R, if the type that enjoys hanging out at the hotel, with a pool, and simply looking at the beach & sunrises. Which there are better location for doing that in Thailand. HH good for a pit stop if needed when going further North or South.
  17. First she needs a SS#. If she doesn't have or qualify for that, then she'll receive pretty much nothing. If she has never lived or worked in the USA, then she probably won't qualify.
  18. Ask the building maintenance man/lady to do it for 1 or 2k baht.
  19. Mandatory monthly (home, car, mb - free & clear) - Home - yearly tax < 100 2 Adults 1 dog (12kgs) food < 10k (no alcohol) electric < 100 (off grid solar) - prior to solar 1500-3000 water < 150 car < 3000 mb < 50 healthcare & vitamins < 2000 Total < 16,000

    Baked beans

Supply & demand. No demand, they won't supply. I know where I live, our Makro doesn't carry a lot of the stuff of other Makros, with more of a foreigner customer base. It just wouldn't sell here before the exp date. Plenty of beans (Brooks) though. Don't care for Ayam's.
  21. Are you asking as an investor, or simply trying to track the exchange rate ? Exchange rate, rare fluctuate enough in 1 or 2 days to bother, for either. Unless buying/selling huge amount of options, as an investor. As an invertor, they buy & sell (forex) currency options, puts or call on future rates. Since you are asking, I'd stay clear of, until you have a lot more experience investing.
  22. " man was so engrossed in his phone that he had not heard the arrival of the #417 diesel service" Highly unlikely, more like passed out from the alcohol.
  23. Marriage visa requires 40k a month income. So that's what you must show, although you can easily, live on less, or not. We do, but have no house, car, motorbike payments. Simply basic living expenses, and 40k a month is more than enough for us. Actually live on about 20-25k, but on retirement visa, so have 65k incoming every month. As a non heavy drinker (alcohol), we try, but actually have a hard time spending it (65k) so her savings account grows when I'm not buying toys, or if we're out playing holiday. Depends what beer and where you sip it at, and will dictate how much that will add to your monthly budget. Takes me a month or two to drink 12 large beers @ 555 baht. Some people do that every day or 2. So if an alcoholic, easy to spend 40k or more a month, just on beer.
  24. Wonder what's the Thai translation for 'karen' or 'snowflake' is Personally I think the spirits might enjoy the company. I always make sure they can read my device over my shoulder when sitting on or near shrines, as surely they are interested in current events. They seem to enjoy it, as I always have a breeze. Thanks for that.
