What a load of granola. You are in Thailand and you are doing a compatibility test drive with all these women that you will never be compatible with. Like never. And maybe you should be honest with yourself a little. You are meeting these women on dating sites 100% and you are getting exactly what you signed up for. I am not saying these girls are prostitutes and have low morals, but they are on a dating site to get laid and maybe find a long term relationship. All these women and their professions that you mentioned have probably been buldozzed by dozens of Farangs, Arabs and probably Indians before you. My last tinder date before I met my wife was working for 3M making 100k a year and she proudly gave a list with how many guys on dating sites she was with. Most girls will lie about this. Yes these girls are absolutely 100% desperate. If you want to date like in the west, you should meet women the more traditional way. Otheewise the only reason you keep doing this is because you want your ego stroked. Sorry for reality check.

That is 30k too much for someone who decides to live in a 3rd world country. The goverments will get smarter soon and will only pay residents. You decide to live elsewhere and help some foreogn economy? Then use your own money.

People selling garbage from their condos such as stained mattresses and broken furniture which back home you would toss it up on the curb hoping garbage truck would pick it up if you are lucky. Some do and some don't. I never said my wife has more money. And even though she is 100% Chinese blood (with masters degree) she also grew up relatively poor. She is 100% self made. That does not mean she is rich.

This is why I never do 90 day reports and just pay a fine once a year. Every time I post this I get a bunch of confused emoticons as I am sure will now. Enjoy slumming it at immigration 4 times a year or navigating the online mess. I just budget extra 2000b per year for the convenience.

I usually make a personal judgement regarding this issue. I never give to any children, or one legged men that look like that German scammer who was kicked out of Thailand. I also don't give to charities. What I do is when I see an old skinny person on the street I usually buy 100-200b worth of food around from 7 or whatever is available and give it to them. Sometimes I will toss a 20 to those street performers sittiing in the sun.

Who does 90 day reports? Pay a fine once a year and that is it.

When renting the only thing owner cares about is 2 month deposit. They don't care about your visa nor it is illegal to rent even if you have no visa.

I spend way less. When I came here 10 years ago I thought I would only last 1 year. It helps if you hook up with girls that are actually employed. In those 10 years I was able to save almost 1 million Canadian dollars. A lot more than if I was slumming it in Canada. However, I believe that Thailand is the exact opposite of the West. While back home people spend less once they get older, in Thailand due to no security and lousy healthcare the future costs will go up significantly. This is why I will be moving back very soon.

My wife worked for a Japanese manufacturing company when I met her. A little known fact about Japanese here. They don't promote women and they don't promote non Japanese. My dear super awesome wifey was the only non Japanese woman in Thailand who ever got promoted, however she hit a ceiling and wasn't going anywhere. So, last year she gave them the finger, put her resume on LinkedIn and got hired by US/Euro company and works from home. In fact she is working right now in another room in her birthday suit.

Know what? I was gonna send you the nastiest reply ever, but I just tried adding my credit card and it went through. I remember trying to add a card numerous times in the past 2 years and it specifically said only domestic cards were allowed on shopee. But now it works, so.....

Maybe it allows foreign debit cards, but not foreign credit cards.

This has been repeated so many times and it is simply not correct. First of all the below LOL statement What resident? Can Thailand pls show me my PR or citizenship card where I can claim such privilege? Or are people claiming that just because I spent more than 6 months in a country I am considered a resident? Not in Thailand. To get a card with Wise, you simply get verified with whatever passport you have. I did with my Canadian passport then put my mom's address. If your parents are dead or your friends and family back home hate you, just put any address, like a hotel. After you are done with all the formalities you can apply for a card and put whatever address you want. I had my Wise card delivered to my Bangkok condo - free of charge. And I would just like to say how I am impressed with their app. It is so easy to navigate that any idiot can do it. Their numerous borderless accounts are amazing if you want to open an online shop. Their additional virtual cards which I used numerous times even on platforms like shopee which does not allow foreign credit cards. Not to mention their fraud prevention and customer service will be better than when dealing with a Thai bank. Wise is a God's gift to Farang expat.
