There are a lot of these scam calls. My wife gets 1 per day on average. Unless she recognizes the number she never picks up. This is Thailand. Do you feel secure when you hand out your passport, bank account, house number, wife id card, kor ror to immigration on the back of a copy paper?

Jesus Wept, November 5th can't come fast enough. -
This is apples and oranges. I can buy a house in Canadian boonies for 50 thousand Canadian dollars with better infrastructure than in Thailand. People should really stop making these comparisons between Buriram and San Francisco/Sydney/Vancouver.

Thailand will make everything 100 times more difficult than Canada. Thailand loves paperwork and that paperwork will keep more people employed. The thing is it is not about how small amount it is. It is about the residency issue and in my honest opinion Canada did a huge favor to your wife by informing the German government. Would you rather they kept quiet and then 10 years later CRA collecting thousands of dollars on fees and penalties for not filing on that small interest she was getting? They could have absolutely done that like IRS is doing. Your wife got a huge favor on taxpayer's dime.

I do not understand what are you complaining about. Your wife had income from Canadian sources that is why she needed to file a return....as you said it yourself. She could have opened a non resident account and would not be bothered by CRA. I have RBC non resident account and have received $13,000 in interest last year. No witholding tax and Canada did not care about filing. I have a rental property in Toronto and have to file a non resident tax return.

Baht hitting new high after the rate cut. The land of opposite.

I mean announced on internet that you are leaving, but 1 - changed your mind, 2 - never meant to leave and were just trolling or 3 - left and returned for whatever reason? Me the combo of all the above around 7-8 times that I can think of. The replies were the usual....don't let the door hit you in derriere, this isn't the airport, poor sap ran out of money, enjoy the winter and fat women, etc ....

It has nothing to do with IQ. Some very intelligent men lost their fortunes to bargirls. When emotions come into play, all bets are off. That being said, Trump will win biggie.

Never bothered to get one here, but I do have some questions in case I change my mind. Is there a tax number assigned to this card as with Thais? Is there any English writing on the card (like clearly stating it's an id card)? Can I use it at places such as post office instead of my passport? Can you use it to open a bank account? Specifically, if your passport expires can you use the pink card to replace a bank book or ATM card? Did anyone use this pink card as a proof of non residency to open a bank account back in your country.....or any other country?

So, on my first trip to Thailand in 2003, I was with my French gf at the time. Beautiful facial features. I wasn't even thinking hooking up with a Thai at that time. There I was in Hua Hun and spotted this beautiful "girl" sitting on a sidewalk in a traditional Thai dress. I elbow my GF and whisper.... look how beautiful she is. She smiles as she knew I was naive as F....and says.... it's ladyboy. And it dawned on me.... MAKEUP. My whole world was crushed. I spent the next few days making sure my GF did not apply any and sure enough she did not. We already spent a few years together, so I knew her pretty well, but I wanted to be absolutely sure. Then in 2010 I got me a first Thai gf in Canada. She was an international student and I was in my mid 30's without any prospects of finding a Western partner. I had to swallow my pride and date a Thai. The first thing I made sure was that she did not have a c0c7. She passed. She was relatively rich with daddy sending a monthly allowance, so sure enough she had enough money for MAKEUP. in the morning when she slept over, I would try and sneak in and check her face without MAKEUP, but she would unfortunately sleep with MAKEUP. As I like to back up all my stories with pictures, here are some from the good old days..... or were they? Remember folks, this was 14 years ago, so the wounds are still fresh.....
