  1. Think you need to read more history as you have it totally wrong. "Snake Oil Salesmen" went around the wild west and peddled medicine and ointment that they said fixed and cured every ailment. Yes science is now starting to come out with figures that can't be disputed yet mainstream and governments are ignoring. Example would be the Yellow Card warning system. There have been more Yellow cards issued against a certain medical procedure than every other yellow card issued which seen several vacancies pulled "Swine Flue vaccine" comes to mind. Again check the figures on the UK .gov website (why everyone doesn't check everytime some media or elite opens their mouth and spouts their truth (in my day we called them LIES).
  2. There is now more and more information if anyone wishes to check (the UK .gov web site is a great place for accurate information which totally contradicts main stream media and government statements). The so called rabbit hole is now more like the truth to a beacon of light. In the old wild west they called them snake oil salesmen.
  3. BMW are not renowned anymore for longevity. Anything over 5 years and 100,000 miles expect big bills.
  4. Very pompous! The article did not go over my head. You do understand the concept of answering a post? It is how thaivisa has flourished. If it were regimented about the specifics of details in an article there would be 2 posts and then just likes. It is all about people commenting then commenting on those comments. It's not Rocket Science. Thai Visa polices this and deletes offending Trolls as of yet I have no notification that my post has been removed so I will take it that my remarks are within topic.. Let the police police and the conversation flow. There is a great word that describes a person who takes it apon themselves to police everyone..... starts with a K....
  5. Having lived and worked in Thailand while The right full PM was elected by the people for the people in power: there was growth of 12/14%, life was good for Thai Common people and expats alike and corruption was far less. I would like to point out that I did not like him but he was great for Thailand. Whatever the Taxins did or have done is miniscule compared to this shower. I personally know of not one officer in the British military who became a millionair on PAYE yet every Thai General seems to do it. The cardinal sin for any soldier is to overthrows a government. There is No! Excuse...
  6. Come on now!!! Do you honestly think he had nothing to do with getting her out of the country? Having either of them in Prison would have been such a rallying call for over half the country to focus on. This scares the hell out if the xxxxccvvccc who stole the country. Plus the ramifications from other countries including sanctions which would have followed and heaven forbid something happening to them in custody...... all the country and the world would need is that spark and the tsunami of flames would crash through the elite.
  7. I think I will carry on replying and quoting whatever direction a post take unless you are some kind of official stay on topic police!!! The relevance also relate to internal Thailand flights we also had to book. I can also speak/relate to family members who continually fly within Thailand and to other Asian countries (social and work related). If you have not noticed an increase well either you are very special person or maybe "do you know who I am elite" us meer mortals see very large increases.
  8. I beg to disagree. Both international and Thai internal are far more expensive we were looking at flights to thailand 6 months ago and they were 300% higher than normal we booked for March and were 200% higher but bit the bullet. There were cheaper but with 18hr lay overs.
  9. A slight error, the term "Promoted in Thai means purchased" so what you end up with is the most currupt always make their way to the top. Bids are probably already being place in brown envelopes as we speak...
  10. I think you would find his bank ballance has been growing since he joined the army. Then there was that coincidence of a massive financial land sale prior to the tanks rolling in. The sceptic in me screams the term "Bought and Paid For"......
  11. The relevance to my statement about my wife and children and love of Thailand is because quite a few on here attack like rabid dogs if you ever dare to say anything bad about Thailand or scream your just another old drunk foreigner who can't get a girlfriend or wife in your own country and sit in some bar drinking your life away. I would disagree with your statement: corruption has fallen by the road side "wasteside, not really correct usage". It has been nearly 4 years since we left and I/we found that corruption was still there and more expensive. Most Thais I know just accept it as a way of life or doing business (upto 40% now but prior to the tanks rolling in it was just 20%).
  12. If they just came out and said the real reason I'm sure the tourists would understand and if they suggested a colour to wear in support and well wishes you would see a sea of that colour I'm sure. Now it looks like you advertise, draw people in then cancel this will anger people who have spent thousands to holiday, party and celebrate.
  13. Again wow! It's burn your candle at both ends (staying awake and partying), not really the correct use or have your cake and eat is more relevant. Thailand which I love and am married to a beautiful and very good Thai wife and two wonderful children with a very good family and I think the Thai government, military and police are not fit for purpose and the comparison to the mafia is well deserved. The fact that Thailand is still a 3rd world country and not as prosperous as Japan and South Korea comes from the greed and corruption from the top down. However, Thailand has some of the riches families in the world and also poorest.
  14. One thing I've learnt over recent years is the effect different lenses and filters make on photos so now I look very closely. For me it looks like everything is squashed together, sizes are out. Maybe it is busy and tens of thousands are on several kilometres of beach.
  15. As a young man I would donate blood, however when I learnt that it was then sold on for profit it dampened my enthusiasum which waned somewhat. Even as a young soldier in Hong Kong you got a can of beer or cup of coffee and nice biscuits ????
  16. That is a very believable list. Dubai was a bit if a surprise but then again we plan on going there for a holiday after visiting family and our house in Thailand.
  17. One of my ancestors was hung in Australia because he would not grass up the the one committing the highway robberies! Obviously this streak has been watered down over the generations, Me "it's him over there"!....
  18. Can't say that, "Happy Hollidays".... lol
  19. Had to go back and read a gain: it says he can't even drive. However it says his ex wife says he was involved!!!!
  20. And you believe wearing a mask stops you getting infected? Try doing some real research. So many lies told and repeated doesn't make it true. A bit like save grandma and get the jag, now we know having the jag dosent stop transmission and doesn't stop you from catching anything. Yep the Snake oil salesman of the old wild west would be really jealous.
  21. Have you ever been involved in a thai goverment check up? A school I worked at would hide half the school when the officials came to inspect due to the school not having the necessary licence. Plus the several visits I was there for the officials never left the principles office "acepting brown envelopes)...
  22. Please direct me where you can get a flight in the uk to thailand for £510? I think you will find flights are near £2,000 from most parts of the UK to Thailand!!! I know as we were going to go and even travel on Christmas day.
  23. Some very old and sad people on here. First it's youngsters who love to party and the holiday spirt flows and memories are made (and I have a few). It's when you go to book your holiday it can be a deal breaker. Sun, sea and party. Also it is the young who have the free money to burn with no mortgage around their necks. I think Spain tried this and people just stopped going then they changed back.
  24. Yes I/we can afford it. I also have a house in Thailand I built along with my wife's big bike that have sat in mothballs for 3 years so far. Your rather arrogant assumption is very sad indication of your character. We did leave after 8 years in 2019 due to the uncertainty of immigration and no way was I going to leave my/our money in a Thai bank as a matter of principle and the lack of a desire to have a 800,000baht target on my back. I will never have any one telling me what to do with my money, ever! So after 3 years back in the UK we have a beautiful house, 2 cars in the drive, my wife has another big bike, our children are being well educated and lead very active social lives.
  25. Really? Leaving £20,000 in a Thai bank for the so called privilege of living in a third world country. I don't call that a Joke...
