A lot of jobs are 6 days a week, often more than 8 hours a day, often with little pay. If the job is grueling on top of it as perhaps many factory jobs are, that starts to become slave labor. So this creates a massive sex industry. People who can get some education maybe do have some opportunities. But being born in an uneducated family is a cycle that's hard to get out of. Regarding mental health issues, I can't comment on transgenders working the streets.

God some horrible tragedies out there. But was he an alcoholic AND had mental health issues? Things can spiral downwards real fast to the point of no return.

I don't think the locals view it as exploitation. There are a shortage of high paying jobs and good industries in Thailand. So I think the locals view it as a way to survive. Exploitation is lack of available high paying jobs and slave labor in low paying jobs.

naturopaths can be good, but can also be scammers. and fortunately there is a lot of good information online. if you are willing to put the effort, you can save money. all the best on your health journey.

I take various supplements. Healthline.com seems to have an extensive library of reviews on many herbal supplements. They appear to be objective because for some herbal remedies, they promote them quite heavily as having numerous health benefits and minimal risks. I remember another supplement they were warning about - ginseng, which is now added to Red Bull, etc ... This site does not warn against all non mainstream supplements at all. So if there is a particular warning about excessive risks with sth, I am cautious to use it. They reference scientific studies, and in the case of colloidal silver, they claim the science isn't solid. But by all means, cross reference any information with sites you trust. But keep in mind the same racket occurs as with Big Pharma, ie people get paid to sell supplements and sometimes they won't tell you the risks if they are lining their pockets.
