  1. my mind works fine without drugs. i'm good, thanks.
  2. not exactly on topic, but related to climate. some people aint gonna like this one ... france is the 1st country to ban short domestic flights that can be replaced by train rides. https://www.travelinglifestyle.net/this-country-is-first-to-ban-short-domestic-flights-that-can-be-replaced-by-train-ride/
  3. Another serious question. How would you defend yourself from someone who attacked you with passion fruit? How about a banana? How about a bunch of bananas? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqTFPuiMSk8
  4. Ok, I have a serious question for you. Do you know how golf was invented?
  5. Bali wants to make a law to forbid foreign tourists from renting motorbikes because they are too reckless. Maybe Thailand should do the same.
  6. No. Why people drink: - It actually tastes good. - People are sheep. Monkey see, monkey do. If it becomes the cultural norm, then people try to fit in. - Letting loose is an easy alternative to developing a skill and talent to keep yourself occupied. - They hate their jobs. So they let loose on weekends. It's best to get out of a crappy job. - Too much idleness and boredom. You need to stay busy. - Depression. You need to learn to manage your life. - Not enough time spent in nature - Not enough physical activity, which keeps us vibrant. But realistically, maybe people drink because our lives are boring, we're too confined in a straightjacket being forced to be serious all the time at work and paying the bills. Regarding being in nature, this lady suggests that human beings are electro-magnetic beings that need to be in nature. We're living in concrete jungles which is not healthy.
  7. I can't compete with your silliness. I surrender.
  8. being overly nonsensical is the flip side of being overly serious about everything.
  9. Books vs e-readers Physical books are more enjoyable to read and hold. When I relocated, I had to dump my books. Too bulky. Although I am a fan of lending libraries. We should have more of those with books we can borrow. Vinyl vs Digital Vinyl may sound better. Not sure. I used to love the album art and the sleeve art and reading the lyrics off the album. with digital, you have video so you can see the performers. sometimes an album has only 2 good songs, so you have the buy the album for 2 songs. With Youtube, you can make song playlists and access them anywhere if you travel. It's not technology that's making people depressed. It's people who don't know how to manage their lives.
  10. No. As per a previous reader's suggestion, we're putting you on an adventure out at sea. There, your fears and frailties will be pitted against a relentless fate.
  11. i doubt the folks at AN would do that. a lot of stuff he posts is nonsense, but you can have fun with it. just reply with nonsense.
  12. isn't there a forum rule against quoting and responding to yourself?
  13. thanks for the detailed response, although the OP may consider this spamming his thread.
  14. I just watched a health video on blood pressure and he said that the literature on sodium is conflicting. I don't think science is clear on the effects of sodium on blood pressure.
  15. I haven't watched all of this yet. It's 45 minutes. But the wording of the video suggests it's not an evil plot? In Barcelona, they're planning to block cars off every 3rd street by 2030. But they claim "citizens will have a much greater freedom of movement".
  16. you said you're a leader with no followers?
  17. A lot of very rich folks hang out in the Greek Islands Cruise the world African safari Sports tourism - go see a FIFA world cup final, Wimbledon, ..
  18. regarding drugs, a lot of rap stars and rock stars are making drugs cool. and people get influenced by them. so freedom + cultural art influences you could argue some drugs are useful, but realistically unless you're a shaman in Peru you're probably not using drugs for anything productive.
  19. I just suggested the TV because realistically most people will not make time for exercise. But ideally no TV is better.
  20. haha lee iacocco(?), a CEO, said "lead, follow, or get out of the way."
  21. an interview with the author of "The Holy Universe".
  22. he would be selling over-priced concert tickets
  23. we are? not sure what chomsky is preaching. sorry, a bit off topic but i wanted to tell you before i forget. you might enjoy the youtube channel "Fiction Beast". \ get yourself a glass of Russian vodka and talk Checkhov.
