"Racist Mob Violence" - surely that should be "Patriot Mob Violence". The British people were never asked whether they wanted their communities to be degraded by vast numbers of people from less civilised countries.

Definitely seems on the expensive side. I pay 20 baht for a strip of 10 100 mg pills. The brand is Puride, purchased from PB Pharmacy in Bangkok.

Or one can do a little bit of research and find international bank accounts with far lower minimums. Standard Bank (Isle of Man) has a minimum of GBP 5,000 (or even less if you use them for wealth management). https://international.standardbank.com/international/personal/products-and-services/bank/international-bank-accounts/optimum-bank-account -

Nope. Closing non-resident accounts is old. You can still be domiciled in the UK, but be resident elsewhere and have your account closed. -

In the past I had an account with Cooperative Bank (Guernsey or Jersey, I can't remember). They closed in the 2010-something. I then moved to Nationwide International (Isle of Man), and they closed in 2017. I would have zero confidence in Santander International continuing to operate. -

UK residency is required for Starling Bank. Wise and Revolut, although they maybe useful, are not banks, they're deposit takers. Edited 2 hours ago by Liverpool Lou Wise most definitely doesn't require UK residency. No problem opening an account with Thai residency/address. Sorry, the link I provided doesn't work. The text reads: -
The headline labels this as "Biden’s Afghanistan Withdrawal" and totally ignores the facts that: The Trump administration negotiated a withdrawal agreement with the Taliban that excluded the Afghan government That agreement led to the freeing 5,000 imprisoned Taliban soldiers That agreement also set the date (May 1, 2021), for the final withdrawal. The Trump administration reduced U.S. troop levels from about 13,000 to 2,500 - that was despite the Taliban continuing to attack Afghan government forces and taking al Qaeda terrorists into their leadership. This wasn't "Biden's Afghanistan Withdrawal", but Trump's, and Trump was responsible for what resulted.

They should also have a requirement that no one with an IQ under 70 can run, too. -
I've just had my online 90 day reporting rejected. (I took a trip outside the country earlier in the year.) I really don't want to have to sit in Chaengwattana for hours, so can anyone suggest a reliable agent in Bangkok to make the report for me - preferably one who will pick up the paperwork from my home (I don't live in central Bangkok), and return it?

Ireland to Ban Balaclavas Amid Rising Anti-Immigration Protests

The hijab doesn't cover the face, so of course yes. The niqab and burqa, however, possibly not. (Niqab = narrow slit for eyes; burqa = woven mesh covering eyes. Hijab simply covers the ever-so-erotica hair to prevent male Muslims having rape-y feelings they can't contain. You may recall that Sheik Taj Aldin al-Hilali, a senior Australian cleric described women who didn't cover their hair as "uncovered meat", meaning that they invited sexual assault. Of course, he didn't say it in English because, despite having been in the country since 1982, he doesn't speak the language. Integration muchly?) -
Not Catholicism. Catholicism is all about their priests repeatedly buggering little boys - not murdering them.
-
If murdering young children were part of the expat's religious duties, then targeting all farangs who followed that religion would be, in my opinion, perfectly logical. If, however, the expat wasn't inspired by a murderous religion, but simply mentally ill, then demonising all farangs would be morally repugnant and clearly racist.

There are now reports of a 13 year old boy in Leicester (an area with a large Muslim population) being charged with multiple offences of a sexual nature. I guess they start them young there. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/boy-13-charged-multiple-sexual-29669857 Let the rioting begin (or recommence).

Yes. No stupid plastic card, ergo no bank account, no rental accommodation, no employment. -

Landlord refusing to do TM30 ?
Foxx replied to sikishrory's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The OP is a bit confusing? You're the one who appears to be confused. I've never heard of a TM30 being stapled into one's passport. TM47, yes. There is no tie between TM30 and one's visa. -
Digging a bit deeper, royal assent (or refusal) must be given within 90 days of the bill having been passed by both houses. (If there's no royal assent or refusal, royal assent is automatically assumed.) That means that royal assent (or otherwise) should be given by 16 September. Publication in the Royal Gazette is usually pretty prompt (but not always). Assuming it takes place within four weeks, then the law will come into force 120 days later on 11 February 2025.

On 27 March 2024, the House of Representatives passed the draft law for same sex marriage on its third reading. On 18 June the Senate approved the bill. (Not sure why that took so long.) But now, four months after the House of Representatives gave its OK, there's no sign of royal asset, even less publication in the Royal Gazette. (The law will come into force 120 days after publication.) It now seems unlikely that we'll get gay marriage this year. I guess the trousseau will have to stay packed in the trunk for a bit longer - or possibly for ever.
