  1. Amazing how quiet he's been in 'ethical' debates, I wonder why....
  2. I haven't paid taxes in years, and I don't plan to start paying now. The Thai government has no way of enforcing these rules, and no way to confirm where your money comes from. The only way they could potentially monitor and screw us over, is if they made tax return forms a requirement for long term visas.
  3. Pop music objectifies everyone. That's how they sell music....
  4. Forgive me for being stupid, but it shouldn't matter from which party they come from, right? The speaker of the house and his deputies are supposed to be impartial in all matters, and are not allowed to be executive members of a political party. Therefore, it shouldn't matter which party they come from. That being said, up 'till now, the MFP has been an example to how things should be done. By breaking/bending the rules to kick out the deputy speaker from the party, they're starting to look like the others.
  5. Wouldn't the 'ethics' rule disqualify Captain flour? This guy went to prison in Thailand for murder - released a few years later after some other guy took the fall, and went to prison in Australia for importing heroin. Yet he is a minister in the cabinet. Biggest joke of the decade (no pun intended).
  6. Assuming you have an iPhone, go to settings, tap your name (it is the first option) , then tap the fourth option - subscriptions. Here you can easily cancel or renew any subscriptions. Using a PC; From the menu bar at the top of the iTunes window, choose Account, then choose View My Account. Scroll to the Settings section. Next to Subscriptions, click Manage.
  7. You really need to think about what you just said. 1st post: No, I'm not complaining. 2nd post: Absolutely I'm complaining. So what does this mean "being punished" - You tell me, you are the one who said this! Do I have to clarify your own points to you? It seems like your arguing with yourself, whilst at the same time, denigrating my 'English skills' without pointing out any errors. Deflection is always best when one has been caught out lying, eh? How is it possible for one to admit they are wrong, whilst at the same time, never acknowledging that they are wrong? Did you read what you wrote? I think it's best to end it here.
  8. Come on Mokwit, I'm sure your a reasonable person. Have a cup of tea, and think about what you wrote. How on earth were you not complaining? Now you claim that you can easily meet all of the requirements and do your extensions by yourself - without the aid of an agent. So are you being punished for not using an agent or not?
  9. Hang on Mokwit, in another thread you were complaining that Big Joke made it so difficult for retirees, that retirees had to use an agent or were punished for it. Now you're telling us that you do actually do them yourself?
  10. Yes, I already said I was wrong about that... I confused my non-o based on marriage with another type of Non-O.
  11. He wasn't even in the job for a year, he was immigration chief for 7 months! How much damage can one do in slow moving Thailand? Things take forever to change in this country, yet apparently Big Joke was the worst of the worst, especially for retirees - if you believe the comments that is. I'm on a Non-O, but mine is based on marriage, so I haven't noticed any major changes.
  12. I disagree that it had 'attitude'. It certainly didn't contain anything offensive, unlike your comments about IQ tests and poor use of English. Even now, you can't help yourself... most people learn that in the school playground. Nevertheless, I was wrong about the financial requirements. You were right. You were wrong about the TM30 (and I was wrong about not reporting). We all make mistakes.
  13. He was the one who started insulting. In fact, every message he has posted has contained an insult
  14. yeah, sorry, I'm wrong about the financial requirements! Everything else I stand by though.
  15. I think you're confused. You do not need to keep 400k in the bank all year. You only need it in the bank for 2 months. Requiring retirees who wish to have the 10 year visa (O-A) to have health insurance - is this what you are referring to by 'changing the deal?' Everyone should have health insurance in a foreign country, especially if you're old! Just speculating here, but perhaps if those people who are 'being forced' to use agents could pass an IQ test, they might have the intelligence to read the AseanNow visa help section... Other retirees seem to have no problems completing the correct paperwork, so I wonder why you have this issue? TM30 has been around since 1979. When I first arrived here in 2014, I filled one in, and have been doing so each and every time I re-enter Thailand. In fact, TM30 requirements have been made easier - you no longer need to report a change of address each and every time you move. edit: Oh, and the correct way to write year 'round is: year-round.
  16. 400k year round? Since when? 2 months of seasoning for 400k, or monthly bank transfers of 40k. Those rules were in place long before BJ's very short tenure as IO chief - he was appointed in Sept 2018, and removed in the summer of 2019. He inflicted the TM30 on us? Really? In 1979 BJ came up with the TM30 card?
  17. Don't bother arguing with Mike. He tried telling me that Big Joke was the national police chief just before the election, and that I should go do my own research. When I pointed out that BJ has never been the national police chief, he is the deputy, he tried deflecting saying 'well, he's still at the top of the pyramid' rather than admitting he was wrong. How can one be at the top, when you are being considered for promotion to the top? Mike has no class, and no knowledge of anything in Thailand.
  18. Someone should remind this CEO that his airline is the worst culprit. His airline is the ONLY airline to charge for taking payments, and his airline adds all of the fees at the end of the purchasing process. In fairness, Nok Air does the last one as well. Everyone should fly Lion Air. Cheap, fair and on time (in my experience).
  19. You need to get the old visa/extension transferred to the new passport. Do this by getting a letter from your embassy and taking the letter to the IO office. You can't use two passports at the same time, only one is valid (unless you have paid specifically for 2 valid passports - but this is a rare)
  20. I didn't buy it from you guys lol! My wife went into one of the many local shops here and came back with ten grams of popcorn crap for 1,200 baht. Apparently they gave her a 200 baht discount. Still not impressed lol!
  21. Would you recommend? I can't see a logo or website address though...
  22. Imbecile. Chakthip Chaijinda was the longest-serving Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police from 2015 to 2020. Suwat Jangyodsuk was Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police from 2020 until his retirement in 2022. Damrongsak Kittiprapas is the current Commissioner-General Do your own research next time.
  23. Erm... is it not more naive to ignore the fact that he is one of two people in contention for the top job, and a smear campaign like this will work nicely? Did you see his house... does it look like a grafters house? Didn't see any luxury cars or watches either. Oh, let's not forget, they searched the house and found... nothing. Research how many were convicted and jailed.... for what precisely? Is he also a lawyer prosecuting these cases? I think not. That responsibility is on prosecutors, not policemen. Since when was he the top cop? He was chief of the IO a few years back before getting shot at in a parking lot... is this what you are referring to? Statistically, what are the odds that you're an old man who came to Thailand to bang young ladies? We can all make assumptions about people, but that doesn't mean they are true.
  24. Happy days! When weed was illegal, the quality was better, and the prices were dirt cheap. Let's make it illegal again, and we can get stop buying overpriced weed from companies looking to make a quick buck. How is it even remotely possible for weed to be more expensive in a third world country, where the average citizen earns less than 5000 USD per year? Prices in the US and UK are much cheaper, you do not purchase by the gram, and quality is much higher. Look at this crap. Cost 1000 baht
  25. WHAT? Lock up the only policeman in Thailand who does any work? Sort it out Mike, you're the only one who looks like a joke...
