  1. Since when do Thai taxi drivers have morals? Whenever I'm in Bangkok, it's virtually impossible to get them to turn the meter on without admonishing them in terse Thai.
  2. Wissanu has nothing to worry about. Thaksin is more likely to appear naked in my mother's bedroom than coming back to Thailand.
  3. Isn't this an annual story? It's not just the academics who are plagiarizing, how many MPs have been caught claiming they have advanced degrees from diploma mills abroad?
  4. My understanding is that the vote for PM is not contingent on any government deal. It is an independent vote, yes? Once the PM has been chosen, they then form a cabinet. At this point, the PM can assign portfolios as he sees fit, as long as they have a majority of votes in the house.
  5. Sounds like he learned a lot from his mentor, Thaksin. https://www.thaipbsworld.com/specter-of-thaksins-tax-saga-returns-to-haunt-thailand/
  6. I'm shocked. I was expecting them to throw out the proposal, as there is precedent. I suspect the court thought that if they didn't issue an injunction on the vote for tomorrow, that the MP's would sort it out amongst themselves in their rush to get their snouts in the trough. They didn't count on the Speaker of the House refusing to move on until the court issues a ruling.
  7. There won't be a vote. The Speaker of the House has also postponed tomorrow's vote.
  8. Once the vote for PM has concluded, wouldn't PTP be able to do anything they wished? At this point, they could tell the PPRP et.al to get stuffed, and go back to the original MOU with MFP, right?
  9. Companies should focus on their bottom line, not top or bottom surgery. I couldn't care less what Costa's marketing team thinks on any given issue, they are not politicians, decision makers or a pressure group. I care about the price, taste and service of my coffee. In the same vein, people boycotting Costa over this are a bit ridiculous. I'm surprised they didn't complaint that the cartoon image only had 3 fingers instead of five. The joke's on them though.... avoiding Costa means you have to settle for a Gregg's coffee, or even worse, Starbucks.
  10. Thank you. So many people forget that the reason Charles is 'king' is because he happened to fall out of Q.E.II's vagina. I say fall, because he must have hit his head. Who else talks to flowers? We spend so much time attacking perceived and real injustices about equal rights; men & women pay disparity, gender & racial discrimination, rich and poor divide, LGBTQIA+ etc. yet the most fundamental right that we are all born equal is completely forgotten when talking about the 'royal' family.
  11. Why is it that most professions must retire around 65, but politicians just keep on going until they drop? Personally, I think it's ridiculous that the President of The United States is 80 years old... there should definitely be an age limit. Just look at Mitch the other day, stopped speaking, frozen in place and couldn't remember what was going on. We should thank these people for their service, and send them on to retirement. Times change, and these people were educated over half a century ago... do they really understand how things work these days? I think 75 should be the upper limit. This would keep Biden & Trump out of the race! Everyone is a winner and we can finally move on.
  12. Finances are not an issue, that's all sorted. Extension based on marriage, not retirement. Sorry, I should have mentioned that!
  13. Thanks! Just to be clear, I'll be extending my Non-O 90 day visa that I got in Laos, this will be my first 12 month extension. Do you know what documents I need to bring with me?
  14. I'm wondering, when is the latest i can do a 12 month extension on my non-O visa, is it 30 days or 14 days prior to it ending? What do I need to bring to the immigration office in Ubon, using the income method? Thank you.
  15. The gym is a private space? They all look like greenhouses these days, with their glass walls. Anyone walking past can see everything.
  16. No experience? What have they been doing for the last 5 years in opposition?
  17. NEWS FLASH! Fastest car manages to get first place. That being said, he's facing a 5 place grid penalty because he's changed too many gear box parts, so the story isn't quite accurate, Charles Leclerc took pole position.
  18. How? His party holds 71 seats. The only way he can come to power, and the only way the conservatives can continue to rule this country, is if the MFP + PTP break away from each other. Pita + Thaksin don't seem to realize that they have a super majority in parliament and can frustrate the conservatives into capitulating. If the two parties stick together, which is what the electorate want, then they will succeed. In the unlikely event that the conservatives form a minority government, they won't be able to achieve anything because the MFP + PTP can vote 'no', call a 'no confidence' vote straight away and depose the conservative government. A simple majority vote would enable this scenario to take place, and a fresh election held within the next few months. The only way they lose their chance to form the next government is if they work with the old government. Don't do it, stick together, and watch democracy flourish.
  19. You can get a debit card from them if you have a UK address. I set up my Wise account from Thailand and they had no problem with my address, they only asked for a scan of my passport bio page.
  20. If the bank closes your account, then just open a Wise account. Problem solved.
  21. If the country is left in the hands of the military government, we'll all be saying Nihao in a few years....
  22. How many times has he announced his 'return' to Thailand? I've lost count.
  23. The Thai Enquirer has revealed itself to be a Chinese mouthpiece at last! Why else would they be quoting from a Chinese masterpiece?
