  1. Thank you for your message, I'll research this option more!
  2. Amazing! Could you direct me to any tutorials online where I can set this up please?
  3. Is it be possible to set up a remote connection to my router that would enable them to connect as if they were in my home? I know it can be done outside of China, but would this method unlock Netflix, YouTube etc. and get over the great firewall?
  4. No, I was thinking I could set up a VPN server on my router here, and they could tunnel their traffic through it? I'm not an IT expert, so I'm not sure if it would work this way.
  5. I have a family member moving to study in China. Is it possible to set up a VPN on my router for them to access the internet, as if they were here in Thailand, or would it be best to use a third party VPN provider?
  6. Research suggests.... Do I need to buy a new pair of spectacles? I can't see any links or posts regarding research. One must assume this is BS?
  7. According to the process for my visa, UK documents need to be notarized in the UK by an FCDO approved lawyer. Thai lawyers can't notarize UK documents as genuine, they can only be notarized in the country of origin. A Thai lawyer can notarize a Thai translation as genuine, if the translation was done in Thailand.
  8. Ask a Thai person their opinion on any given day, and they'll tell you what they want you to hear. Observe a Thai person for a day, and you'll see them smoking, gambling, drinking and paying for sexual services (men & women). Possibly at the same time.
  9. Does anyone know which laws the UK might be breaking this time? Genuine question. I read the same headlines we all read, but I would like to make an informed opinion on the legal issue. On a humanitarian note, people fleeing their countries are doing so for a reason. There must also be a reason for them trying to come here illegally. Is the legal way to difficult to navigate? Is it too expensive? Why are they risking their lives in the first place? Why are we sending France 500 million a year to deal with such a small number of immigrants? There must be a better way.
  10. You're right of course, Sadiq Khan has been an absolute disaster. But so was Boris. Let's give someone else a chance eh?
  11. I hope to see the end of this institution within my lifetime. In the UK, the Royal Family were the arbiters of slavery. They were the ones who owned the slave trading companies. In fact; In the 17th century Charles II granted a charter to the Royal African Company and his brother, James II, would later become its governor. Under royal blessing, the company became the largest single slave trader in British history, bringing perhaps 100,000 captive Africans to the Americas before 1713. The family have no place in our modern world. They bring no value to the UK - Tourists would still come and visit Buckingham Palace and other Royal themed places - it's not like they currently get to meet and greet the King is it? Each time they go abroad, they embarrass themselves. Either having to apologize for previous colonial behavior, apologize for slavery or even being told that they want to break away from the monarchy and become independent nations. We should raise our children to believe that no-one should have titles, honors, power and a lavish lifestyle from birth. These things should be earned. Let's move to a presidential system, and whilst we are at it, let's remove the house of lords. Replace it with an elected senate like almost every other democratic country in the world.
  12. Not true. Fact checked by the Independent: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/boris-johnson-london-murder-crime-rate-incorrect-commons-speech-a9020826.html Boris did very little that was helpful whilst Mayor of London. He wasted 43 million on a bridge that was never built, and funded whoever he was sleeping with to go on business trips with him. He's currently trying to make his wife-beating father a Knight, and is using Trump tactics to lie about the recent commons investigation into how he mislead parliament. This man is a liar through and through.
  13. Was this a Thai lawyer, or a British lawyer?
  14. Hi! I need to get several UK documents legalized & notarized by a British lawyer (FCDO approved), is this possible to do in Thailand?
  15. I wouldn't listen to advice from a man in an Adidas T-shirt, who is clearly more interested in how his biceps look on camera.
  16. Yes, I am aware. Apologies for not being clear, but I was unsure if this would be financially viable - taxes and VAT. I was hoping to hear from others who have ordered from abroad, and chat about why Thailand seems to be selling old, expensive tech. All of the components and manufacturing are done in China & Taiwan - and they aren't very far away!
  17. I apologize, I should have clicked further in, rather than reading the front page only. They're 12 gen processors, its gen 6 of the Legion range they were talking about! I agree, the prices are very reasonable for the latest tech. No 13th gen processors, but I don't think anyone has them yet.
  18. OH MY! I see what you mean. Completely customizable! Wow!
  19. I've heard good things about their Legion models, they're quite reasonably priced too! Thanks for the suggestion! Edit; I looked at the specs, and the processors are very old - 6th gen for 50,000+ THB!
  20. Yes, the prices are wildly different! The Thai product contains 11th gen, and is R6. The US model is 12th gen, and is R7, the latest model. TH: https://th.dellexperience.co/product/alienware-m15-r6-32gb/ 94,000 THB US: https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-laptops/alienware-m15-r7-gaming-laptop/spd/alienware-m15-r7-gaming-laptop $1649 (56,000 THB) EDIT: Dell charges an extra 200 bucks for 32GB over 16GB(usa). Considering your getting a 12th gen processor, I would say the difference is negligible.
  21. I just checked the TH & US dell sites. In TH, the Alienware M15 gaming laptop is 94,000 Baht with 11th gen processor In US, the same laptop is 48,000 THB (1,400 USD) with a 12th gen processor Why is the price & tech so different?
  22. I need a new laptop, rather than a desktop. Sorry, I should have mentioned that earlier. Laptop specs are really low for the prices being asked (IMO).
  23. Buying a new system in Thailand is frightfully expensive, considering the chips inside them are a few years behind. Is there a way to order a good system from abroad?
  24. You could always download 'fit girl repacks' to try it out. I didn't like it. Civ 6 is better!
  25. Probably good, loving parents... A lot of parents are happy that their kids are glued to a screen of some sort, rather than spending time with them.
