Xi Jinping is not satisfied with winning the trade war

You gave ONE example, which is a mistake that any journalist could make. You are reaching for anything that will support your insupportable premise. -
Tourism Thailand Vows to End Dual Pricing Amid Growing Tourist Backlash
Felton Jarvis replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Ending dual pricing is not enough. Thailand needs to end the ruinous tariffs on Western goods that cause expats to spend insane amounts of money on food and other goods, raising the cost of living. Not everyone can eat Thai food every day. -
Xi Jinping is not satisfied with winning the trade war

Media has to deal with the facts it has on hand. It cannot consider the opinions of those whose ox is baing gored. EVERYONE thinks they are an exception to the rule. The vast majority of Trumpers and other Republicans think media must be perfectly aligned with their agenda before they have credibility. -
Xi Jinping is not satisfied with winning the trade war

Watched the video, paid rapt attention and STILL noted that this is an OPINION program. When I was in media, we were told to leave our political ideology at the door. I gathered, wrote and presented straight news, NOT opinion or hearsay. Our most frequent problem was getting "no comment" responses from Republicans, who then complained loudly of "bias" when we only gave reactions from the opposing side. Surely you realize that media cannot FORCE newsmakers to comment. We just report, we don't indulge in advocacy. To a Trump supporter, there is only THEIR side of the story, no other. -

A difference of opinion on an OPINION program,NOT a newscast. Where is the "glaring" bias? Your example has no legs or logic. -
Xi Jinping is not satisfied with winning the trade war
Felton Jarvis replied to AndreasHG's topic in Political Soapbox
Social media and corporate and public media are entirely different entities. Again, I challenge anyone to prove bias on NPR (public) and CNN (corporate). Fox News has done a marvelous hatchet job on MSNBC and CNN. They seem to play it straight down the middle without commentary or bias. If you don't have solid examples, don't even THINK of challenging my contention of fair play by corporate media. Media was never meant to be a cheering section for politicians. -

As an American with a forty-year background in media, your statement is completely insane. We were taught to get both sides of a story and bias was forbidden and could get you fired. I challenge you to PROVE that media has spun ANYTHING to do with this story. -
I should have specified that this is MEDICINE as opposed to cocaine, crystal meth or cannabis but since you :"don't do drugs" be sure and inform your doctor that during your next invasive medical procedure that you won't need anesthetic or painkillers after the procedure. I won't lower your bill but you'll be safe in the knowledge that you didn't "do" drugs.

Zoloft helped me control my appetite. I am serious. Overeating is very often a symptom of depression and Zoloft, Lexapro or other SSRI drugs can help. This is an "off prescription" use for these drugs but many report excellent results. Good luck.

Xi Jinping does not have to do anything to make Trump look like a fool. The whole world can see what a point we have come to. Three and a half more years of Trump will be a disaster. Bend over, America!!! -
This is what happens when you elect a spoiled brat to the nation’s highest office.

America has been hated for years. That won't change. Getting a President who is at least a centrist, if not an outright liberal is essential to maintaining some kind of balance. We can't undo the damage Trump has done but we CAN prevent his type from ever taking power again. I would love to see California Governor Gavin Newsom as President, but that is probably a pipedream.

We can certainly do better. Trump has no chance of a third term unless Republicans completely lose their minds. This is the most toxic period in America since the Vietnam War years. I hope this four years goes by quickly. America needs a return to normalcy.

Opinion Russian Teacher to Thais: Drop ‘Farang’ if 'Ni Hao' Offends
Felton Jarvis replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
To a Thai, farang are simply not human. That gives them the right to treat us in any way that benefits them. -
Opinion Russian Teacher to Thais: Drop ‘Farang’ if 'Ni Hao' Offends

I agree. Thais are the only people on earth that claim the right to discriminate as a cultural item. -
Trump would need legislation for either of those initiatives. It will never happen. Same with his “third term” fantasies. Both Republicans and Democrats agree that two terms is enought.
-
Definitely a "never Trumper", but I try to face reality when it comes to removing this scum from office.
-
It doesn't make any difference. The fact that many voters are experiencing "buyer's remorse". will not remove this man from office. It takes impeachment and a majority vote to remove a President. Trump is dangerous and he has already destroyed out relations with Canada, Mexido and many other countries.

US Expat in Thailand Faces 10 Years for Threatening US Senator
Felton Jarvis replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
That is your opinion only. You need to be captured and sent to El Salvador since you think that this is the lawful way to deal with "threats". An idiot blowing off steam is not a threat. Your estimate of the "stupidity" of my comment shows the depth of your commitment to the corrupt status quo. -
US Expat in Thailand Faces 10 Years for Threatening US Senator
Felton Jarvis replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Absolute poppycock and bushwa. Politicians threaten the lives of citizens every day. Flying to Thailand to arrest a harmless, unhinged expat is sheer INSANITY!!! They will hunt you down all over the world and capture you. -
Powerful words coming from Karl Rove. In the past, he has defended every Republican regardless of the situation. If Rove thinks Trump is in hot water then DJT is likely toast.

The fascist bastards actually FLEW to Thailand to arrest him and bring him back to Atlanta. Free speech is now officially dead.
