Thai man kills girlfriend in jealous rage over religion
Felton Jarvis replied to webfact's topic in Southern Thailand News
If they won't worship your God, just KILL them. That doesn't sound very "peaceful" to me. What am I missing??? -
Your post is good advice. My own situation is a bit different since my "agent" is also my landlady. She and her family have always been able to secure my extension of stay with no problems. The price is a bit more than I would like to pay but is less than many other agents. The idea that we are supporting corruption by using agents is just stupid. Thailand has many "laws" that would be struck down by courts in a great many democratic countries. Trying to do things the "honest" way will simply result in the denial of your extension of stay. There is no sane reason to make things harder than they have to be.

E-Visa extended to 3 months starting 15 August
Felton Jarvis replied to freeman01's topic in Vietnam Visa and Immigration
How many times can the 3 month visa be renewed from inside Vietnam? Not interested in doing visa runs. -
Trump declares ‘the American Dream is dead’ in latest attack on Biden
Felton Jarvis replied to CharlieH's topic in World News
The TRUMP dream is dead. The American dream is still very much alive. THis fraud and charlatan needs prison. -
Your concerns are justified. I certainly don't have any answers. Many others feel the same way.

Address Reporting Surprise!
Felton Jarvis replied to whophant's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Exiting and re-entering Thailand is an entirely different issue. I get a re-entry permit and file a TM30 when I return. My girlfriend has no passport so she never accompanies me when I travel out of the country. Inside Thailand, I have never had a problem using her Thai ID at hotels. They don't want to deal with bureaucracy either. -
Address Reporting Surprise!

Jomtien for one. I'm sure there are others. It's strictly a "power trip" thing. They slap you around because they CAN!!!! They get their jollies from your discomfort. I've handed them required forms of "additional information" and watched them SHRED it right in front of me, grinning as they did it. -
So how about that racial profiling!
Felton Jarvis replied to Airwolf's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Racial profiling does not exist in Thailand. You are a foreigner. You have no rights that any Thai need respect. -
Address Reporting Surprise!
Felton Jarvis replied to whophant's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
A totally different scenario. I was only referring to staying in hotels within Thailand. Never once asked for my passport when my girlfriend paid at the desk. They simply don't care. It's extra work for them. -
Address Reporting Surprise!
Felton Jarvis replied to whophant's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
While traveling with my girfriend, I always gave her the money and she checked in under her Thai ID. They never asked for my passport and I didn't volunteer. Hence, no TM 30 is necessary. -

US Passport Renewal Question
Felton Jarvis replied to Felton Jarvis's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It's not a waste of money if you are unsure as to what the outcome might be, The American Embassy and Consulate are now completely devoted to dealing with American citizens by mail or website ONLY. Gone are the days when you received their lousy service in person. Embassy employees are here to party and attend "functions". Work is not part of what they do. -
US Passport Renewal Question
Felton Jarvis replied to Felton Jarvis's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I got an answer from Benjamin Hart on the cost of processing my Passport renewal. He says the fee is 5350 baht. I DID mention to him that I had already paid the 130 USD Passport fee and had a receipt. Not sure if he figured that into the price or if that is going to be the fee charged for all Passport renewals. -
TM30 Online Check Out Date
Felton Jarvis replied to hammered's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
There is no "check out date" if you are staying in a condominium. Since this is a required field, what does one use? I suppose I could use the date for my next extension of stay. -

US Passport Renewal Question
Felton Jarvis replied to Felton Jarvis's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Most legal offices seem to be charging 10 thousand baht, which includes the 130 USD passport fee. If Hart is charging more than that, his British competitor in Soi Buakow will continue to get the business. I won't pay more just because Ben is an American. -
US Passport Renewal Question
Felton Jarvis replied to Felton Jarvis's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I have also been made aware that Integrity Legal is opening an office in Jomtien on Soi 7, right in back of Immigration. I have an inquiry out to Ben Hart about the costs involved in the renewal of a US passport. The new office has GOT to be the most conveniently located legal office in Pattaya.
