  1. I got an Electrolux Kettle at Big C. It has lasted for eight years now. Automatic shut off. I think the price was about 1000 baht.
  2. I try to explain this to most expats and their eyes cross. Time is money. I would rather pay more and save myself a hassle.
  3. Defamation is almost as dangerous as LM. No criticism of anything Thai is allowed.
  4. One of the British legal offices is charging 10 thousand baht for. the same service. The owner is really rude and does not seem to like "Yanks". Hey, I wasn't asking for anything but information based on a post that I saw here. Not sure why many Brits don't like us, we don't have any control over what Washington does. LOL. Get a clue.
  5. The US Embassy website was worthless. I kept getting thrown into endless loops and couldn't get out (or pay). It is an absolute garbage can of a system, but I'm glad that it worked for you.
  6. I have recently received a new USA passport, What needs to be done to transfer extension of stay and other information from the old passport to the new one??? Is there a standard form used for this purpose? Information appreciated. I used the Pattaya office of Integrity Legal for passport renewal. The cost was just over 5300 baht, which is a savings over another legal office that was mentioned on this forum.
  7. Why chance it??? They can't even make up their minds if it's legal or not. It wouldn't surprise me if they made an example out of someone like you. Leave the dope at home and buy it locally.
  8. ...and stupid. There are other ways. There are some things about sex that I do NOT understand. Celibacy is far better than prison.
  9. The government determines what law enforcement will be like in any country. In Thailand, simian government engenders simian LEO. Ain't it GRAND?????
  10. I am NOT going to get into an altercation over merchandise. I am not Thai or Chinese and I will LOSE this fight every time. Best to wait to get served and move on.
  11. I agree with you totally but I am unwilling to start a fistfight to resolve it. I will LOSE and we both know that.
  12. I noticed that right away when I read your post.
  13. You don't need to sell me on revision of this law. I was merely commenting on the reasons behind the extra security at the Constitutional court. My opinion doesn't count and neither does any politician opposing the status quo.
  14. I have never had a Thai person cut in line ahead of me. The Chinese tourists do it all the time. I refuse to get bent out of shape over Chinese rudeness.
  15. Pita will be lucky to escape imprisonment for daring to suggest revision of Thailand's LM laws.
  16. Barstewards. There is no rule of law in Thailand.
  17. I am RECOVERING. That is all I will claim. Others have different problems and situations. By their very nature, expats are a bit different than others since they left their home countries. Relatively few people ever do this, despite threats in political debates.
  18. I have no problems with the British government, I only know that the British Embassy decided that they would no longer issue Statutory Declarations of Income and the American Embassy decided to follow suit. This has created a myriad of problems for British and American expats who live in Thailand.. Many other countries see no problem in verifying income for their expats.
  19. I merely said the system is designed for the convenience of Immigration, rather than my convenience or yours. I stand by my statement. NOTHING is done by Immigration to enhance OUR convenience. They simply don't care.
  20. The system is not for OUR convenience but for THEIRS. Nearly as useless as American and British Embassies.
  21. Big Joke should jump right on this. Will he travel to the country where the farang is from and demand his extradition???
  22. "Dope on a rope" accurately describes many IO personnel. Thinking outside the box or knowing basic arithmetic is a bit beyond their pay grade.
  23. Bottom line...There IS NO OVERSTAY "PROBLEM". It is an invented problem by Thai Immigration. Even the overstayers are pumping large sums of money into the tattered Thai economy. Thai Immigration is merely trying to act like "the big boys". Compare this to America where the Immigrants have NO money and need to take crap agriculture jobs that no American wants. A totally manufactured problem. In both cases.
  24. Thailand needs all the perverts it can get. Carry on.
  25. Stick with places that need and want our business.
