  1. Actually, the 90-day reports serve the function of justifying the grossly inflated staffing at Immigration. Without this requirement, most of the staff would be sitting idle and have no papers to shuffle.
  2. Every now and then, some Thai official asks "Why do we do this?" The recognition that certain information serves no valid purpose is a step in the right direction.
  3. Personal vendettas are a favourite Thai hobby. They want full credit for doing nothing.
  4. Victimless crimes are serious business in Thailand. Just refrain from negative opinions on anything.
  5. Hope you're right. Time will tell. I suppose it's too much to ask to have the whole scenario laid out before they implement it. A clear case of "READY-FIRE-AIM".
  6. No Olde Brit should ever move to a country where he or she can't access the NHS. The greatest healthcare system in the world and I say that as an American. We envy you.
  7. My agent is my Thai landlady. She has reliably gotten me an extension of stay every year for around 14 thousand baht.Lowest price I've seen. Of course she and her British husband own a number of condos in my building.
  8. Pattaya. Lived here for nine years. Working-class beer drinker.
  9. Struggling to STAY here, though my income is far above the required amount. 800 thousand baht in a bank account if impossible. For some strange reason, an income of nearly 100 thousand baht a month is just not enough for Immigration.
  10. I find it strange that no anti-Gay posts are tolerated here, yet anti-Biden posts are welcome. Make up your mind what you stand for.
  11. I vote a straight Democrat ticket. No one named Trump will EVER get my vote.
  12. Revolution gets the death penalty here, unless you're a General in the Army.
  13. They are paid next to nothing. I'm sure they deserve them.
  14. English major??
  15. Good....it's not like they ever DO anything.
  16. There is not a place on the planet more gay-friendly than Thailand. I am puzzled by what more the LGBT bunch could possibly want.
  17. Your logic is deeply flawed. Thailand is internationally famous for incompetence and poor service. My Fedex experience bears this out. Definitely NOT "blaming Thailand"....they can't ALL be stupid. Kneejerk defense of shoddy service is just evidence of being a "Thai-O-Phile".
  18. Of course. I forgot that if I had not been in Thailand this never would have happened.
  19. Long story short, my Thai GF got on the phone with Fedex and apparently has arranged a delivery. No clue as to why there was no attempt before. TIT?
  20. The Thai men do not seem to be interested in the same women that we are. However, that wouldn't stop them from complaining. Anything to flog the farang.
  21. Even worse with my American credit union. They won't use anything but Fedex and the average time it takes is one month. If not for my girlfriend, I would starve to death.
  22. Thanks for helping out. In the nine years I have lived in Pattaya, I think I have visited Naklua exactly twice. I have terrible luck giving instructions to taxi drivers unless I can use Google Translate. Even then, they manage to take me to the wrong place. 😞
  23. Weird indeed. As far as I know, there was no attempt to deliver it. They could have left a note. The messages they sent ended up in my spam folder. Terrible service, consistent with the standard of the country.
  24. Thanks guys. I can't find anything about it on Google Maps. Local taxi drivers don't know what I am talking about. The only chance I've got is to get my girlfriend to call them. Sheer insanity.
