  1. Exiting and re-entering Thailand is an entirely different issue. I get a re-entry permit and file a TM30 when I return. My girlfriend has no passport so she never accompanies me when I travel out of the country. Inside Thailand, I have never had a problem using her Thai ID at hotels. They don't want to deal with bureaucracy either.
  2. This online reporting system is a big step forward. I normally like to submit my reports in person but I am getting used to the online method and it solves many problems.
  3. So incredibly typical. The Thai grasp of technology is beyond non-existent. Endless loops, pages that go nowhere, links that don't work. I think they do these things to toy with us. I've watched them laugh at me as they shredded documents that they told me were required.
  4. Jomtien for one. I'm sure there are others. It's strictly a "power trip" thing. They slap you around because they CAN!!!! They get their jollies from your discomfort. I've handed them required forms of "additional information" and watched them SHRED it right in front of me, grinning as they did it.
  5. Racial profiling does not exist in Thailand. You are a foreigner. You have no rights that any Thai need respect.
  6. A totally different scenario. I was only referring to staying in hotels within Thailand. Never once asked for my passport when my girlfriend paid at the desk. They simply don't care. It's extra work for them.
  7. While traveling with my girfriend, I always gave her the money and she checked in under her Thai ID. They never asked for my passport and I didn't volunteer. Hence, no TM 30 is necessary.
  8. Would have been the same situation if he were 80 years old and on crutches. Thai fighting = ten on one.
  9. Regardless of circumstances, the farang is always wrong.
  10. I will be enjoying a burger and a beer in my condo.
  11. It's not a waste of money if you are unsure as to what the outcome might be, The American Embassy and Consulate are now completely devoted to dealing with American citizens by mail or website ONLY. Gone are the days when you received their lousy service in person. Embassy employees are here to party and attend "functions". Work is not part of what they do.
  12. I got an answer from Benjamin Hart on the cost of processing my Passport renewal. He says the fee is 5350 baht. I DID mention to him that I had already paid the 130 USD Passport fee and had a receipt. Not sure if he figured that into the price or if that is going to be the fee charged for all Passport renewals.
  13. There is no "check out date" if you are staying in a condominium. Since this is a required field, what does one use? I suppose I could use the date for my next extension of stay.
  14. You have neither the time or the inclination to be civil. Rude bastard.
  15. The use of acronyms without definitions should be banned.
  16. https://thaivisa-express.com/ This company was discussed earlier in the thread.
  17. Most legal offices seem to be charging 10 thousand baht, which includes the 130 USD passport fee. If Hart is charging more than that, his British competitor in Soi Buakow will continue to get the business. I won't pay more just because Ben is an American.
  18. I have also been made aware that Integrity Legal is opening an office in Jomtien on Soi 7, right in back of Immigration. I have an inquiry out to Ben Hart about the costs involved in the renewal of a US passport. The new office has GOT to be the most conveniently located legal office in Pattaya.
  19. Try to get them to remove only the stones and NOT the gall bladder. Since my gall bladder removal ten years ago, I have had a permanent case of diarrhea. The doctors will usually tell you that this is temporary, but ten years is NOT temporary in my view.
  20. WHOSE confidence is this designed to boost??? I don't feel safe with Communists observing anything I do.
  21. Very odd how Immigration sweeps always concentrate on nightlife areas. Keep pushing and Cambodia will have all your tourists and expats.
  22. I see no "toxicity" or "negativity". All I see are attempts to control the way people think. If you want a true forum, let opinions flow freely. Moderators create toxicity and negativity where it does not exist. A moderated forum is not really a forum but merely a tool for control of the narrative.
  23. Are you SERIOUSLY suggesting that a President could serve his term from prison?
  24. Hopefully, Trump will be locked up. It won't matter who is ahead or who wins, since he can't serve from prison.
