  1. Caught you telling fibs again, naughty naughty, I won't hold my breath for an apology. Note the date, so therefore why are the combatants captured on the 7th Oct 2023 not classed as POW's? https://www.timesofisrael.com/we-are-at-war-netanyahu-says-after-hamas-launches-devastating-surprise-attack/ https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/middle-east/netanyahu-tells-israel-we-are-at-war-after-hamas-launches-an-unprecedented-attack-on-the-country/articleshow/104237141.cms https://www.lemonde.fr/en/international/article/2023/10/07/netanyahu-says-israel-is-at-war-after-hamas-launches-unprecedented-attack-on-country_6154895_4.html#
  2. Certainly does, were the 5 girls/ladies members of the IDF?
  3. Yes of course it is, made you think though didn't it and all the pro-Israel posts on here are to minimize the worldwide condemnation of Israel atrocities in Gaza and the occupied territories, by fair means or foul, tell us something we don't know.
  4. As can be seen from my original post, I said the 5 Ladies serving in the IDF must be classed as POW's but as Brian said that war wasn't declared till the following day, so that might be a moot point. We will have to see how this plays out, they would have more rights as POW's than as civilian hostages with only the rights given them by there captures.
  5. They were all captured at the Nahal Oz IDF Base as stated from information in your link. You were the one who stated and I quote "Stop this nonsense, they are hostages that are also probably being sexually abused by terrorists" I only asked for some proof of that statement, have you got any?
  6. You posted the link, did you not? Can you prove that Hamas are not giving these 5 combatants their rights under the Geneva Convention?
  7. What nonsense? Is Israel at war with Hamas? This is about 5 Israeli combatants as declared in this post: https://themedialine.org/top-stories/women-held-captive-in-gaza-face-uncertain-fate/ Any proof of this comment? "they are hostages that are also probably being sexually abused by terrorists." The ICJ, Security Council and just about every other body in the world involved with this did not say free the Prisoners of War. True, there was no comment about POW's only Hostages.
  8. A prisoner of war (POW) is a person who is held captive by a belligerent power during or immediately after an armed conflict. The earliest recorded usage of the phrase "prisoner of war" dates back to 1610.[a] Belligerents hold prisoners of war in custody for a range of legitimate and illegitimate reasons, such as isolating them from the enemy combatants still in the field (releasing and repatriating them in an orderly manner after hostilities), demonstrating military victory, using civilians to deter attacks on active military targets, punishing them, prosecuting them for war crimes, exploiting them for their labour, recruiting or even conscripting them as their own combatants, collecting military and political intelligence from them, or indoctrinating them in new political or religious beliefs.[1] Under the 1949 Geneva Conventions, prisoners of war are automatically granted the enhanced status of protected persons, alongside certain civilians and enemy combatants who are hors de combat (i.e., out of the fight).[2]
  9. Do politics play any part in food security analysis? https://www.ipcinfo.org/ipcinfo-website/faqs/en/ IPC was created precisely to supersede potential political interferences through technical neutrality, and, if necessary, to shine a light on the political dimensions (at both national and international levels) that may obfuscate the severity of food insecurity situations. IPC provides parameters which are based on international standards to analyse the severity of food insecurity from none to Famine levels. These parameters have been commonly agreed by all partners and are followed in all countries using IPC protocols to ascertain the severity of the situation based on these parameters and data available. This is particularly challenging in countries affected by conflict where some areas are not accessible and quality data are not always available. For this reason, an independent committee of global experts, called the IPC Famine Review Committee (FRC), can be activated to support the IPC country team of food security and nutrition specialists as an additional quality assurance and validation step for the IPC conclusions. The activation of the IPC FRC is also meant to further ensure technical independence of the analysis from potential political influence.
  10. These 5 must be classed as P.O.W.'s, as they were in the I.D.F. Liri Albag was kidnapped from the Nahal Oz IDF base on the Gaza border, where she served as a surveillance soldier. She completed basic training and reported to the base on Thursday, October 5, just two days before her abduction. Karina Ariev, a surveillance soldier, was abducted from the Nahal Oz IDF Base. Agam, also known as “Gagi,” was kidnapped from the Nahal Oz IDF Base, where she served as a communications lookout. It was her first weekend on the base. Serving as an observation soldier at the IDF 414th Combat Intelligence Collection Unit, Gilboa was abducted from the Nahal Oz Base. Naama was kidnapped on Saturday, October 7 from the Nahal Oz IDF Base. She had just finished her training to be a part of the border observation unit and arrived on base on Thursday, October 5. https://themedialine.org/top-stories/women-held-captive-in-gaza-face-uncertain-fate/
  11. Blah, blah, blah, then completely change the point of your original untruth.
  12. So you lied, or tried to misdirect, understood.
  13. I'll ask again, will you now admit you are wrong about 1979?
  14. HI Wobblybob, would you care to debate when the war started in Gaza?
  15. Will you now admit you are wrong about 1979? Israel’s disengagement from Gaza, unilateral withdrawal of all Israeli security forces and settlements from the Gaza Strip in August–September 2005. https://www.britannica.com/event/Israels-disengagement-from-Gaza
  16. Close but no cigar: Israel's Disengagement from Gaza and North Samaria (2005) https://embassies.gov.il/MFA/AboutIsrael/Maps/Pages/Israels Disengagement Plan- 2005.aspx#:~:text=By 22 September 2005%2C Israel's,settlements in Samaria%2C was completed.
  17. You were trying to downplay the "report within a month" to respond in 4 weeks as if it were not that important, the ICJ want a report not some form of response.
  18. Wrong again, you're on a roll today, it's Israel that has to comply with the order not the people of Gaza.
  19. The Good Ship Lollipop may have sailed long ago. but my full post included, comply with all U.N. resolutions, then look after their own people and leave the Arabs alone.
  20. I'm sure the Israeli delegation will call you soon to give evidence to that effect the next time they go to the ICJ.
  21. If there are around 1.5 million Palestinians around Rafah I hope they are big tents as 40,000 will need to house 37.5 persons in each one.
