  1. Harris had proposed to combat inflation and price gouging with fixing prices for groceries. That's called price control.
  2. Exactly right, you have to understand how currencies are related to understand foreign exchange rates, good point.
  3. Hence my qualification "...unless there are very particular reasons that prevent this".. There can of course be anomalies caused by particular circumstances, but in the absence of those the general rule is that when the Dollar falls other currencies go up.
  4. Australia's interest rates have not been cut because Australians are already paying an increase in the cash rate from 0.1% to 4.35% which has meant Australians are now paying on average in real terms almost as much on interest repayments as they were in June 2008 – when the cash rate was 7.25%: https://www.theguardian.com/business/grogonomics/article/2024/sep/05/australia-economy-gdp-growth-rba-interest-rates The British pound has increased in value because the Dollar is weakening. There are also other reasons such as the Bank of England being very slow to cut interest rates, and also the Pound's performance now is a rebound from years of underperformance after Brexit. Your statement that the Japanese Yen has fallen against the Baht in the same way as the Euro, Pound etc, is simply false. Anyone can look at the chart of the JPY/THB and see that you are wrong. If you don't think the Baht's performance is related to the Dollar, you may want to consider this statement by Kanjana Chockpisansin, head of research, banking and the financial sector at Kasikorn Research Center (K-Research): "The baht has quickly gained strength amid continued fund inflows as the market is convinced the Fed will cut rates in September," said Kanjana Chockpisansin, head of research, banking and the financial sector at Kasikorn Research Center (K-Research)" https://www.bangkokpost.com/business/general/2851417/baht-poised-to-reach-34-to-the-greenback#:~:text="The baht has quickly gained,Center (K-Research). So looks my "nice theory" is shared by the head of research banking and the financial sector at Kasikorn Bank. Okay then.
  5. It's very simple. All the currencies of the world are valued against the dollar. If the dollar is strong, the other currency falls. If the dollar is weak, the other currency goes up, unless there are very particular reasons that prevent this. At the moment it is absolutely clear that the Fed will weaken the dollar, because they have said so and given big hints this will happen. They will cut interest rates, so this will weaken the dollar. As a result the dollar is weakening at the moment. Therefore the Baht is going up. This will get worse, because when the interests rates are cut the dollar will fall more, so the Baht will go up further.
  6. Russia is in fantastic shape economically, it's GDP is growing more than the US, UK, Germany, or France.
  7. Russia with a GDP of $1.7T is ranked the 11th largest economy in the world, while Ukraine ranked 59th with $130.8B https://georank.org/economy/russia/ukraine#:~:text=Russia vs Ukraine%3A Economic Indicators, ranked 59th with %24130.8B.
  8. Because he was lied to, misled and forced into this war. He extended his hand of friendship in the 90s, helped US space exploration, implemented western economic reforms and kept his word on Germany. In return he just received empty promises and lies, that NATO would not expand eastwards. Russia for decades made clear that Ukraine joining NATO was a red line and in Bucharest in 2008 this was announced to be the plan by NATO. Many western cold war warriors and Russia experts warned against what NATO was planning. Their calls were ignored and now we have outright propaganda pretending Putin wants to reconstitute imperial Russia and all these lies. I just don't like it. The truth about what is happening should be told, don't you think?
  9. That's what I hear, I really need to go. On the list.
  10. The West has resisted more extreme demands by Ukraine, has refused to put troops on the ground for one reason, Western politicians are not fried in the brain and understand that a hot war with Russia would be suicidal since Russia has over 5000 well serviced nukes. This is why the Western leaders are careful to avoid anything that can precipitate a real war with Russia. We should all be thankful for this modicum of wisdom, though this situation in Ukraine was wholly unncessary and would never have happened with proper leadership in the West.
  11. I've always wanted to visit southern Thaliand, Surat Thani and the whole area. I hear it's quite nice there and the food is good.
  12. You're wrong, Ukraine can't win this war. The West has already poured the bulk of its billions into the war and it has made very little difference. The reason is that billions of USD is one thing, but Ukraine needs to be able to buy tanks, missiles, jets, ammunition etc, with that money, but even Germany and the US don't have enough of it. So even if the West pours more billions in, it would not make a difference. The industrial production is nowhere near what Ukraine needs, the West can't supply what Ukraine needs. Of course Putin does not want to use nukes, however, if Russia were in a situation where its survivial were threatened, the Russians would use nukes. And if they did the West could not retaliate in kind. If it wants to live.
  13. That's funny. But we don't need to look at the Gods. We just have to look at the fact that the Russian economy is ten times bigger than Ukraine and that Russia's economy has gigantic reserves in cash and assets. As you probably know military might is built on economic foundations. As you probably also know the western donor nations are discussing or have already effected a reduction in funding for Ukraine. This is why Russia is taking it slow with Ukraine, because they know time is on their side. Economics will decide the conflict in due course. And should things go awry on the battlefield Russia can use nuclear weapons in Ukraine, knowing full well America and co could not retaliate. Lest they risk annihilation themselves. So, if you really believe Ukraine can win this war, I am sorry to say, your belief is built on quicksand.
  14. No, you're not. You're just bi. Homosexuality is a spectrum, there's total guy and you're somehwere in the middle, you like her and him
  15. This is sadly a truth. That's why a man should go for a girl 18-24 at most. That way you have 20 years of peace until the monster transformation takes place.
  16. Because he's in love. You wouldn't understand.
  17. I did that, and I did find her on a dating site. But those photos are just of her of course, not her with guys. It's useless. It wasn't easy to find her, btw, she of course used a false name, I only managed it because she stupidly used her real age. She just said "Oh yes, that's an old ad, I was on the site before i met you". The way to handle this situation is to tell her either you give me your password for your facebook, messenger, viber and email or we're broken up. That is how I managed to get the full information, plus checking her phone and her then making a full confession because she thought no use to lie anymore since he saw the social media info. Despite her deleting a lot of info, she couldn't delete everything, so it was still possible to see enough so that she'd make a full confession.
  18. The only way the private detectives could have known that this skank was talking to countless guys in her messenger and viber was if they had hacked her messenger and viber. That's too hard to do for anyone, including private detectives. Her modus operandi was to meet guys under a false name on dating sites, and then chat on messenger or viber and go meet them for fancy holidays all over Philippines in top class resorts. Of course asking neighbours or friends would not uncover anything because they'd not know about it.
  19. Ok, thanks so thereabouts. I'd be curious how far market share goes by 2030.
  20. Not really. Whilst the detectives were being told by the neighbours how chaste that Filipina is she was on Facebook and Viber chatting with guys she found on a myriad of dating websites, registered with a false name. Unless you can hack into her Facebook or other social media and messenger accounts, you really have no way to know what she's really up to. When she meets those guys after chatting on Messenger and Viber, she goes to them, or they take her to 5 star resorts, so the neighbours would never know anyway. Luckily I was able to get her to show me her entire Facebook, which is how the truth about her cheating and lying came out. Despite her deleting reams of incriminating info. She then admitted everything. Detectives, btw, when they do surveillance, only do so half the day. So 12 hours. Not 24 hours. Unless you pay insane amounts of money. So surveillances is pretty useless.
  21. I use Wise and Kasikorn and works beautifully to transfer to Kasikorn from Wise. Also easy to get a bank statement with Kasikorn and Wise. But I don't use it for the same purpose.
  22. Trump should ask Harris where she stands on pornography. Should people have the right to view it or not? Harris, like most feminists, has a long anti-porn and sex-worker history. It's her achilles heel. https://www.thedailybeast.com/why-porn-stars-like-me-are-terrified-of-vp-kamala-harris
  23. Do I read this correctly, that EVs have a 12% market share of light vehicles? https://www.evuniverse.io/p/evsales2024-h1
  24. Fair point. He did say that. Next year he'll say "Volvo is now aiming for between 80 and 100 pc of carsd sold to be fully electric". This doesn't change the fact that not just Volvo, but a long, long list of car manufacturers who had previously made big statements about selling 100% EVs are now going back on their statements and will actually produce ICE cars until well into the next decade, ie 2030s. There will be a place for EVs, but it looks like the chairman of Toyota was substantially right, that they will just have a portion of the market, it won't be a clear cut pure EV car market. Even if he got the exact percentage wrong, the substance of the prediction looks to be coming true.
