It has nothing to do with that at all. I went on a vacation at near year that involved going to Bangkok and Pattaya. Quite annoying as apart from my card being blocked I had to get a new card sent. Of course Wise has the virtual card option, so that it was not a problem to continue use the Visa card. In fact to avoid problems you should choose the virtual Visa card to do online shopping, this avoids most problems. Of course it would still not protect you if use the actual card on a holiday.
