Pattaya Prepares for 5,400 US Navy Visitors This January
Pattaya57 replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Pretty sure they annilated Iraq in 1990. I know because I was there... -
You riding the Manila night train as a 62 year old tough guy should come in handy. Put that on your bounty hunter resume 😉

I've been sitting in a beach road bar for 4 hours today and not a single Motorbike has ridden past on the footpath. Could it be OP's complaint to City Hall worked, or maybe there was no complaint needed as it's not a problem?

Pattaya Prepares for 5,400 US Navy Visitors This January
Pattaya57 replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
I'm in 5 star bar on the beach and a US military guy just came in and asked to see the manager. Gave her a card and said if any trouble from navy guys please call this number. I thought days of navy people getting drunk an causing problems in port was long gone due severe consequences. -
You sound like an OH&S person who created careers for themselves by making over complicated rules to keep themselves employed. Most people don't have a problem with the Pattaya baht bus and it's my sole source of transport. I think the simple and cheap baht bus system is one of the things great about Pattaya I do think people stupid enough to get up in a moving baht bus should be banned though

No wonder Pattaya is so busy right now, seems place is packed with undercover cops and feds 😀

Applying for a SETV eVisa
Pattaya57 replied to Hikage's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yeah I'd amended my post to say it doesn't specifically say onward flight. Unfortunately every country is different as in Australia I only needed to enter made up return flight details to get a SETV (I booked a one-way ticket only after I got the visa) -

Not odd at all. It looks like you didn't check the Thai Embassy site before applying. They clearly spell out they need a flight to be uploaded (although doesn't specifically say onward) -
Applying for a SETV eVisa

Please note the tourist e-visa hasn't needed a bank statement since July 2024, the same time they increased Visa Exempt to 60 days (they removed all financial requirements from SETV) So I would just tell them you're only a tourist in Japan so are not a resident and do not have an employment contract and see what they say. -

I provided the formal Thai Embassy document requirement list which included a tourist only having to show entry stamp Please check for yourself before posting what I said was wrong https://site.thaiembassy.jp/en/visa/about/13037/ -

Then I think they just made a mistake and think you are a resident of Japan? I would email them to explain that you're only a tourist and maybe include the screen grab I gave to say that's what you thought you needed? -

I find this a strange request. Looking at the Thai Embassy site in Tokyo they require a non-Japanese tourist to only upload a passport page with your entry stamp to Japan to prove you're in country. As you already paid I'd be saying I'm not employed and only a tourist? Unless you have a residence card you provided? -
Neither does this thread have anything to do with ETA. This is a new TM6 online application system (thread in news forum) This is an absolute joke. If implemented we'll have to do a TM6 online application to give address before entry, do a TM30 to give address within 24 hours of arrival and then a 90 day report to give an address. How many time do we have to give an address before they can find us if needed? Same with a tourist. They'll have to do an online TM6 and an ETA before arrival and then ensure a TM30 after arrival. 3 tines to formally give an address just to be on holiday

TM 47 90-Day report rejected online
Pattaya57 replied to bangkokgalaxy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I'd read several reports saying can't do online 7 days before due date, but that didn't match what they said in the TM47 application manual which was up to 15 days before. It appears the TM47 manual has now been updated to match what people have been saying, from 15 days before due, but not within last 7 days it's due. Here's the manual wording that should apply to all of Thailand -
Questions re retirement visa Pattaya
Pattaya57 replied to Happy happy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I never said you have to do it, each person can make their own decision. I chose to do it because my visa is under Jomtien and they told me to do it. It's on their application info sheet that we must do it, it's on a form they make us sign that we will do it, it took one minute at immigration. For someone not using Jomtien immigration to say it's not required and just ignore it as a rogue office is what grinds my gears as they are not the one's disregarding an immigration instruction on their visa, so too easy to say when it doesn't apply to them -

Okay you've convinced me. I'm done giving "my actual experience" advice about Jomtien immigration in the visa forum as every time you say something I said is wrong -

You don't use Jomtien immigration but you continue to tell everyone to just ignore Jomtien Immigration policies? The fact is immigration gives you a form you sign which tells you to come back to immigration 90 days later to prove 800k finances. As I live in Jomtien immigration jurisdiction I decided to follow Jomtien immigration directions (easy to say don't do it when you have no skin in the game). As I said in previous post it took a few passbook copies and 1 minute at desk 8 without having to queue or get ticket. Hardly a huge inconvenience to do what they ask. -

(1) you also need a passport photo. Their info sheet also says bank statement is needed (along with the bank letter and passbook copies) (2) bank letter can be day before (3) I was there Monday and they had a sign saying come back after 2pm on Wednesday for passport pick-up, so appears to be 2 day return for passport now during high season. (4) you will be given an official form saying you must come back at 90 days to show 800k still in bank. I only needed copy of passport bio page, valid to stay stamp page and last 3 months passbook pages with this form so pretty easy (you don't need to queue or get ticket, just go straight to desk 8 and show form, took one minute) Here's the latest info sheet they hand out at Jomtien for non-imm O / Extension
