  1. Why not. We have to keep 800k baht for 5 months (2 months before and 3 months after application) so what's wrong with keeping it 7 months instead?
  2. Special Time Deposit - 7 months (renewable) He offered me 3 accounts, the savings/ATM account, one that was 0.9% for 12 months and the 1.8% for 7 months
  3. Wouldn't it take you years of interest just to get back what your dead cash was for an Elite Visa....
  4. No, I had shown my passbook on 2 other occasions while on visa exempt and tourist visa and it didn't make any difference as was denied both times. So I just told them I'd like to open an account for inmigration and showed my non-imm O. He said no problem and asked for passport and 2nd photo ID. He then explained 3 accounts I could open. Note: having a savings account already obviously helped in time to set up as my data was already in computer and already had bank app
  5. I was hoping for an agent free thread. We all know it used to be easy to open a bank account on a visa exempt or tourist visa but not in the last 5 years or so. You can still pay an agent 4500 to get a bank account opened but there might be added costs for a Residence Certificate and useless insurance required I was really happy the non-imm O seemed to be all powerfull in bypassing all that crap and bank account cost 0 baht
  6. No, its a fixed deposit account with interest paid monthly. No withdrawals unless you want to lose all your interest. It's called "Special Time Deposit - 7 months". It's renewable every 7 months
  7. The bank officer assured me that this account is fine for immigration and he said they issue the letter for it all the time. Note: I can withdraw the money at anytime, I just lose my interest
  8. I just opened a fixed term bank account in Pattaya to use for my 12 month non-imm O extension and hopefully this info will be useful. Note: while I already had a Krungsri savings account I was denied to open a fixed term account on my previous two trips on visa exempt and tourist visa. I went to Krungsri in Central mall and as soon as I said I had a non-imm O they said no problem, you can open any of the foreigner accounts. I thought I might need a Residence Certificate but nope, all I needed was: (1) Passport (they copied ID page and non-imm O stamp) (2) 2nd photo ID. I used my Australian licence which they copied (3) I needed to write down my full address in Pattaya and Australia which he entered on Computer (no proof required) (4) mobile phone number The guy even set up the account in my banking app for me so I was very happy with the service. This account also gives me 1.8% interest on the 800k baht so at least that's something compared to my 0.1% in the savings/ATM card account. This makes me think getting a non-imm O e-visa before I came was well worth it.
  9. Bodega Bar on corner of 2nd road/soi 13/2. Also 60 baht ice cold beers 😀
  10. So you start a thread complaining about them ripping up some paving tiles to lay some electrical cable underneath, however now you want to rip up the entire beach walkway to plant some trees 😆 Maybe you need to just not go to Pattaya Beach if you dislike it so much
  11. No need to visit Jomtien to ask as I already posted the non-imm O requirement sheet they hand out. It clearly states 800k had to be in bank for 2 months prior to application of non-imm O
  12. Here's the actual non-imm O requirement sheet handed out by Jomtien immigration
  13. You have to upload documents <2mb so that could be the problem? I used "Lens" app on my phone to scan condo chanote and that uploaded easily
  14. Because until it was moved it was posted as a topic in the Pattaya forum
  15. I've did 270 days on visa exempt + 30 day extensions in 2022, albeit that was helped with a 60 day covid extension. No problems (all entries by air)
  16. Did you not read any of the responses? Immigration doesn't care or ask where you stay when entering visa exempt. This is paranoia at its best to think you would have a problem to enter Starting to think you have blinkers on or you just want to tell people "look at me" I have a condo with a yellow book and a pink card...
  17. As I said, Sportsman has cancelled the quiz tomorrow due songkran. They still have this tomorrow though 😀
  18. My screen has a highlighted Search button at bottom of page. I never had to enter any dates, just click it and it showed my 2 attempts (I didn't realise my first one worked as it just dissapeared) When I first registered I think the notes said search highlights all applications in last 7 days (so no dates to define if you extract it straight away)
  19. Since they did away with the TM6 arrival card I've never had to provide my stay address on arrival. You definitely don't need to show Yellow book All you need to do is handover your passport and boarding pass and smile for the camera after finger prints.
  20. I've got to say doing the TM30 online was pretty simple once you played around a little (I did it by trial and error without following instructions in the guide) Register: pretty simple just add the passport details Property: I added my passport ID page and selected owner. I added 2 of the 3 pages of chanote which was accepted (I guessed the condo plan page and the table of info page) Stay: just added my own details again and entered stay allowed by visa. I had to try a few times until I realised I had to click on my Condo as approved property. I reckon it'll take me 2-5 minutes now for all future TM30's, which is great as I have several friends coming over to stay. Much better than the alternative of queuing up at Jomtien 😀
  21. Don't you realise a lot of us avoid those noisy bars like the plague. I'm talking about going to a quiet bar and idiots playing their loud tinny sounding videos
  22. A lot of the guys I see do it in Pattaya are in their 50's or 60's. Them being parented ended before mobile phones lol
  23. OK I hate it now! Wanted to go to Nickys on Bukhao for a great breakfast and found them closed until 20th after Songkran 😞
  24. I just arrived last night and had horror thoughts about what Jomtien immigration would be like today after re-opening for Songkran holidays so decided to finally register online. I managed to register and get my condo address approved (copy of chanote) and I have a printable extract that has status as "informed' (in green text) with check-in 16 Apr, informed 17 Apr, check-out 14 Jul. What is missing from form is the following which is on the manual application form but I wasn't asked to fill in online? - Type of Visa - Expire date of stay - Point of entry - Relation Anyone know if this data needs to be entered some how? (I don't want to use the excel sheet upload)
  25. Well this thread has gone well off track. I find it funny that once I was through the self check-in kiosk without needing to show visa or onward flight, so many people said I could be asked to show documents and be denied at the boarding gate in Brisbane or in Singapore transit. The boarding process is exactly that, board all passengers within 20-30 minutes. It woud be utter chaos if they started asking for random visa or onward flight info at the gate and you'd need 2 hours gate boarding time (like most departure gates, they simply scan your boarding pass after checking name matches your passport ID page).
