Here's a better Pic of a typical TT Exchange booth in Pattaya While this is a Pic of a copycat TT booth which unfortunately I see many tourists using despite having terrible rates

Oz $ losing so much value to the Baht
Pattaya57 replied to scorecard's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
I'm guessing those threads are in the 'Political soapbox' which is not an American forum, however you have come into an Australian forum in a thread about Aus$ to complain about Australians talking politics in that neutral forum? Are you happy you derailed an Aussie thread with off topic political rubbish? This is a good example of why I'm starting to really hate Americans since I retired. In Pattaya you can't go to any bar without at least one American trying to be the loudest person in the bar with their brainwashed "everyone look at me, I'm American from the greatest country in the World" bullcrap -

^ Glad I dont have an iPhone 😉 I have a new Samsung and the mygov app was easy to transfer for me. Basically I followed their instructions of changing my log in process to not include the generator before deleting the app from old phone and then installed it on new phone and signing up again. This is my 3rd Samsung phone in 5 years and as I said for me it's worked perfectly

In relation to how much you can exchange at TT, their FAQ's say you can change a maximum of 800,000 baht per day into foreign currency (so about £18,400). Not sure why some people think this is some small isolated booth. TT is a huge business covering most of Pattaya
-
OP hasn't indicated if he needs "stacks of sterling" but if he does the link I sent is showing the rates for their headquarters on 2nd road which is not a booth. So yes they will have lots of £ there in the office
-
Why do you have to run around a bit? TT currency exchange booths are all over Pattaya and their rates are posted online with each location https://ttexchange.com/

So you've decided to come into an Australian forum to tell Australians what not to do in the American politics forum? Get over yourself as most Aussies don't give a <deleted> about America or their politics -
No, works perfectly without vpn. The whole reason the my gov code generator app was created was for people to not have to get a code by sms (as in for Aussies living overseas without aussie mobile anymore) so of course it doesn't need a vpn

How much Superannuation is enough
Pattaya57 replied to georgegeorgia's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
With $500k Super at 60 you can take a tax free pension of between 4-10% while your fund continues to earn hopefully 8-10% (which is what my AusSuper has earned last 10 years) I would chose 8% pension to hopefully keep my fund balance steady, so $500k gives $40k per year That is approx 75-80k baht per month which is more than enough to live comfortably in Thailand indefinitely without worrying about age pension -
It may not stand for anything, just their name? It's a privately owned business so might even just be the owners initials?

So does that make it a German bar now?

Are you sure it's not the submission report you recieved? I did my first online report last week and got an email with an official looking form I thought was the approval, only to get the actual approval the next day. Difference in the form is that it had the following next reporting date on it. I understood you had to do the first report in person so that they could then set up the computer system to accept your online submissions?

Even if it was open, that's a long taxi ride from Pattaya 😆

Boxing Roo has been closed for years. Roo Sign is still there if that's what you mean by life support?

Billabong Bar on the elbow of LK Metro is still going strong. Good for an early evening session with cheap beers and band (and freelancers). Good place to park to check out the LK Metro crowd Also Kiwi & Wombat bar near soi 9 Jomtien beach road is a popular Aussie/NZ hangout Frasers on way into Jomtien also an Aussie run bar for good food and sports

Young Girlfriend from Udon Thani wants to get married.

Why are made up troll threads allowed? Is aseannow assessing OP to see if they should pay him for future troll threads like the other paid up trolls they have? For AN, this is the worst fake story I've ever read, so don't hire him -
TM 30, or not TM 30, that is the question.

What is that as it doesnt look formal at all? Is it just a sign in one rougue office as the online user manual clearly says to submit within 15 days? https://tm47.immigration.go.th/manual/IndexForeign.html Also looks like they maybe confused the "can apply 7 days after with no fine rule" which cannot be done online in that 7 day window -

Pattaya57 replied to indieke's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Not sure where you got this reduced 7 day window from but to file a 90 day report in person is within 15 days of due date and that is the same timeframe indicated in the TM47 online application user manual -
Fair enough, meanwhile I pay 1900 baht to do it myself which is no annoyance to me. 40 minutes per year at immigration when retired is not a big stress concern in my life
-
The whole thread is about someone already having the 800k in bank and just using the agent for hand holding so your post is ridiculous
-
I'm happy to take your 8-12k to wait in line for you for the whole 40 minutes at Jomtion with all the so called stress involved. Geez I'll even do it for 4k including the 1900 baht immigration fee 😀

Pattaya immigration - online appointment

Well you have 3 months to figure it out before your DTV runs out. Just do like people said in your other thread about extending your DTV and just do a border bounce instead -
Yes I remember those days too, but it's all different at Jomtien now. They have two new air-conditioned buildings built in the car park with plenty of seating. Last 2 times I was there in July and September there was hardly any queue and everything seemed to be flowing very smoothly.
