I saw two bars today and one last week with new signs up saying "please do not bring your own food and drink..." so this may be becoming a problem. I've noticed this for years in the sports bars whereby guys walk in with bottles of water and then sit down to watch hours of sports without wanting to buy anything. Buy a coke at least ffs Note: bringing wine to restaurants and paying a corkage fee is common all over the World. This is not that

This thread is going to have a lot to answer for in the next 6-12 months. It implies that people can cross the border as many times as they like to stay in Thailand 365 days per year on visa exempt. Normal IO discretion remains and if they think you are living here rather than just a tourist then you should expect a denied entry like always

Well if a restaurant with the exact same name re-opened elsewhere it would more likely come up on Google?
-
If you can figure that out all by yourself, why do you need a thread asking how to Google?

Well you think only a tenant who then leases to another tenant can do a TM30 for the 2nd tenant. Absolute rubbish As owner, I rent out a condo via an Estate agent. The lease has all my ID and Condo details required for a TM30 attached to the lease. So the tenant and I have 3 choices. (1) I do the TM30 for tenant (2) Tenant does their own TM30 (3) Estate Agent does the TM30 for a 500 baht fee We agreed to option (3) whereby I pay for the first TM30 and the tenant pays for any other TM30 needed during the lease (as I don't know his travel schedule)

OP was fined because he entered on visa exempt and didn't do a TM30 so what valid reason do you think he didn't have to pay the fine? Also if you don't pay the fine you don't get the service requested, in this case I guess he was looking for an extension to his visa exempt, so he'd have to leave the country if he chose not to pay

Converting from business to DTV visa
Pattaya57 replied to thanaka's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes, I've read on here Laos issue the DTV for 10,000 baht cash. This is much cheaper than by e-visa from home/resident country, example US is US$400 and Australia is A$600, that makes both about 14,400 baht Edit: here's the link to Vientiane Embassy that confirms they issue DTV for 10,000 baht https://vientiane.thaiembassy.org/en/page/destination-thailand-visa-dtv?menu=6694973d6c6e326e3201e553 -
Converting from business to DTV visa
Pattaya57 replied to thanaka's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
So as DTV is applied for via e-visa these people must be giving false information on their current location (note that Thailand is not an option in the drop down menu for current location on the e-visa application) -
My 7/11 has 5 signs up saying no booze on 20th, so giving 2 days notice to stock up 😀 They don't say anything about Sunday 21 though? If it is so wouldn't they put up signs saying no booze 20-21 so customers would stock up even more? Edit: ok I believe it now, just saw pubs advertising no booze from midnight 19th to midnight 21st

Thai Embassy in Canberra has for a long time stated that visa exempts can only be used twice a year, so this is just a carry over of that same statement. Obviously incorrect as visa exempt by air has always been unlimited. As always, Thai Consulate in Sydney has no such limitation mentioned. https://sydney.thaiembassy.org/en/content/summary-of-countries-visa-exemption-2024

Still can't belive they haven't fixed whatever exchange rate error exists in NZ Thai embassy. $300 for a tourist visa n NZ when it's $60 in Aus or $40 in US is a sad joke. Anyway, applying for a tourist visa no longer makes any sense as you get the same 60 days you get for free on visa exempt, with same 30 day extension available for borh once in Thailand. The only time a tourist visa would make sense is if you have lready used your 2 land border croossings allowed for visa exempt (so get TV from neighbour country to do another land crossing)

When we call a lot of companies in Australia we get a sub-contracted Indian call centre. Thinking Indian call centres may answer from Thailand in the near future
-
We all know that. My point was other visa have 'length of stay' clearly stated on the e-visa, but DTV doesn't. Just strange it's different
-
Funny how the DTV doesn't mention the length of stay in Thailand like the non-imm O (90 days) and tourist visa (60 days) do on the e-visa

As I dont own a company, I'm waiting for someone to sign up for a 6 week Thai language course and get the 5 year DTV, then I will do the same 😀
-
Thanks for posting DTV. So you only had to write a letter saying you own a company and they gave you a 5 year multi-entry visa to Thailand. So you can sell your company tomorrow and you're still good for 5 years. This really is an unbelievably good visa. All the elite visa holders that paid all that baht must be getting real angry right now

Hide your personal derails but please show us a pic of what a DTV looks like

I just looked up the border run company I used last November and it's still the same reasonable price
