So OP, any update on why you lied about having to share a table with 2 drunk morons at Kilkenny Bar when it's not actually open anymore. Maybe add in why you needed to lie to create this thread as well. A reason why you make up stories about chang drinking morons may be helpfull to us Singha drinkers that haven't fallen as low as Chang yet

Being quite vocal at an IO may be the reason you were declined entry? The rest is your version of how polite you were. They may have thought otherwise as there must be some reason you were declined entry with a valid tourist visa? -
But you've lived in Thailand for years and now caught pretending to be a tourist. How is that an IO on a power trip flexing his muscles? I'm imagining you, on a tourist visa, responding to IO "but I live here" therefore sealing their case

Yeah easy to say but I'm expecting it at some point. I don't think I'd be too worried as back to Singapore and probably head up to Penang. I'm retired so no work or life stress

Personally I feel I've lived in Thailand in my condo for 6 years on visa exempt + extensions since I retired, so if IO called me out I'd say fair play. I do spend 2 months at a time outside Thailand between visa exempts though, but definitely should get the retirement visa Having said that I'd be very pissed off if I was denied entry with a valid tourist visa seeing as I've never had one before

Why do you keep going on about what you think should happen. Guy obviously lives in Thailand for years while now on tourist visa and visa exempt entries. Bad luck for the OP but immigration did what they are employed to do, sniff out non-genuine tourists Ask the OP "do you live in Thailand". If he says yes, IO have done their job

Hardly the same, he has 5 months living in Thailand immediately before this visit, has a previous 3 day overstay and admits to spending a "hell of a lot of time in Thailand" prior to last 5 months (assuming years of stay) You have 1 tourist visa and 1 visa exempt entry in the last year but go ahead and stay concerned

Do you really need a menu to decide what beer you want? Don't you have a favourite one or two so ask for those and they'll soon tell you if they don't have As for not knowing price until the end you can actually ask the price of the beer before you order it. Plus in Pattaya they always bring a chit to you when you order each beer so there's no surprise at the end unless you don't look at the chit?

I find this expectation so weird. All beer bars have the same 4-5 beers at around the same price so ask for your favourite. As for mixed drinks, again what's your favourite (it's not as if they will be serving cocktails) Sounds more like you're on a tight budget so need to check price before ordering? If so never order a coke without price checking, in some places its almost as much as the beer ????

Why would you think it could be a problem with only 1 tourist visa and 1 visa exempt entry in the last year? People are getting far too paranoid on here
