Scottish woman’s cliff plunge in Thailand sparks insurance debacle
BenStark replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I assume that is if you have a Thai motorbike license or an international permit. https://www.travelfish.org/travel-planning/travel-insurance-motorcycles-asia As far as I'm aware most travel insurances do not cover motorbikes by default. https://fastcover.com.au/travel-insurance-guide/travel-insurance-for-motorcycle-riding-overseas Most travel insurers do not automatically provide rental vehicle insurance or cover for equipment including bicycles, motorbikes, mopeds and scooters. This may be an optional extra you can add to your policy when you purchase travel insurance. -

'Wise' what's up?
BenStark replied to soalbundy's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Today I sent money with Wise to the UK. I got the message within seconds, the money arrived in the recipient's bank, but the bank will pay him out tomorrow at 4.58pm How does Wise know at what time the bank will credit the recipient's account? Sounds fishy to me. This evening at 8pm someone from Europe sent me money. He got the message, the money is in Ben's bank already, but it may take up to 2 days for the bank to credit his account. I got email with the tracking from Wise, and it tells me the same. I'm with Kasikorn, it is less than 2000 baht, and this has never happened to me before. At the time of writing, the money is still not in my account -
Yes the first kettle I had here, that will be about 30 years ago, was also one looking similar as the Sharp. Not sure if it was a Sharp or another brandname but it lasted more than a decade. Then I started getting the cheap ones en I think this one is the third one that fails. So now it will be the Sharp or a Tefal, but I'm certainly not gonna spend 12.900 on a kettle, regardless that one particular troll in this thread is defending.

I think you, as most others on here, missed the point of the OP. The water kettle I bought for 140 baht lasted 3 years, that is 47 baht a year. I don't mind to pay more for brandname, as I expect them to last longer. A Sharp is 690 baht everywhere. 12.900 baht for a water kettle is simply ridiculous

Who said I'm not a brandname person. I'll help you a little

My 3 year old water kettle, which I bought from Lazada for 140 baht, just gave up. So as I wanted to have a replacement quickly I did a google for what is available in the local electronics shops/ I notice that most well known electronics brands are around 1000 baht, until I stumbled on this. It isn't a misprint of the price, as it is available at other stores at the same price. How can a company justify such a price for a simple water kettle, and who in his right mind would spend that kind of money on it? All it does is heating up water, isn't it? https://www.thaiwatsadu.com/en/product/กาต้มน้ำ-SMEG-รุ่น-KLF03GOEU-ความจุ-17-ลิตร-สีทอง-60349395?cate=630103

Anyone here succeeded in getting the face detection activated in the KrungThai app? App got deleted from my phone, probably because I didn't activate, and now I can't activate it. When start scanning get all error, too light, too dark, can not detect chin, can not detect cheeks, move face closer, move face within frame. In short everything but a positive. Anyone else experienced the same?

Not forgetting 200 series stainless which is used for cooking pots and furniture. It is almost impossible to tell all of them apart except in a lab or that the 200 series can be slightly magnetic. Seems people in the UK have different opinions on SS 200 and SS 304 https://www.die-pat.co.uk/what-is-food-grade-stainless-steel As far as the 200 series goes, this is still a food grade stainless steel, but is less resistant to corrosion overall, as manganese is used instead of nickel. These products are not as safe as the 304 grade or the 300 series as a whole. Most food contact equipment, pipework, containers and sinks are made from type 304 or 316 grades of stainless steel.

But you are wrong: Job growth was widespread in January, led by professional and business services with 74,000. Other significant contributors included health care (70,000) and retail trade (45,000). Thanks for confirming my stance From your link Job growth was widespread on the month, led by professional and business services with 74,000. Other significant contributors included health care (70,000), retail trade (45,000), government (36,000), social assistance (30,000) and manufacturing (23,000). So that is 142.000 jobs that are not in any way government related -

Easy peasy when adding government workers like army, police, firefighters and others. As easy as increasing GDP by giving weapons away to countries where you have instigated a war
