  1. This sh*t is going on for years, and not only with Thai banks • I'm Belgian, on retirement visa for 15 years, and having yellow book and pink card for many years. Went into SCB bank to open account and was flatly refused because I didn't have work permit. I had SCB account in other branch years ago, which get closed because I didn't use it. I showed the manager that account book, including all my identifications, but was still refused. In the meantime, I have opened 3 accounts in 3 different SCB branches. I had a similar experience with BKB, but was able to open an account in another branch without problems. • I had a well balanced bank account with a bank in Belgium since 1984. Since I moved to Thailand I only used it for payments in Europe. My official address was with my sister. 2 years ago I, among many others, received a letter from the bank that they wanted to close the account because I lived in Thailand, and I was given 3 months to move my money. Lucky I still had an account with another bank to which I could transfer the balance. Since then I have tried to open an account with other banks, called them gave them my references of family members who have an account with them, but have been unable to open an account with any bank.
  2. Is this the alter ego of Thailand Super Poll organisation?
  3. I just did a google for yellow dragon and yes they are poisonous, but they are much larger as what I see. If that are babies, then i'm gonna have a problem, since there are lots of them
  4. I gave up on Lazada months ago. No more Cashback, very few vouchers and those that are available are useless. Now I don't even search anymore on Lazada, and go straight to Shopee
  5. Thanks for that, I will add a picture from the underside, so you have more details to post. Location is banglamung - chonburi. I only touched with my finger to turn it upside down, and it went lifeless, @Sophon Yellow dragon is a good guess
  6. No they don't roll up. The kind that rolls up I had last year, The difference with these is that they are white underneath. Vegetarians mean they will eat the roots of my grass?
  7. Thanks for the edit, looks to me as 4 legs per segment (2 each side)
  8. I have these small things crawling over my porch and I assume they are in my lawn. They are very tiny and about 1cm long. Anyone can identify, tell me if they are harmful, and if that is the case how to get rid of them?
  9. Food is all a matter of taste. Sure your mum was the best cook you have ever encountered in your life. Even when your best friends mum would cook the same dish, it would taste differently. It's like people who can't live without Colman's mustard, while another one it has to be Amora or French. So yes, most likely the pies you buy here will taste different from what you had all your life, but that doesn't mean they are less tasteful.
  10. Is drooled another word for vomiting?
  11. Going by the post history of the OP, his next post will be. I bought a hedge trimmer on Lazada, spent 300 baht on it as that was the cheapest I could find, but it didn't work for longer than 10 minutes
  12. Did the OP have to search long for such a silly video? There is a joke going around. Question : Where in the world can you eat the best English food? Answer : Nowhere because there isn't such a thing. And if you doubt, have a look on this list. UK is listed #51 https://www.usnews.com/news/best-countries/rankings/great-food
  13. Why would ordering a statement cause any interest lost at all?
  14. I asked the same question to my pension fund, and got an answer that doesn't make me any wiser. They told me, tax is usually paid in the country you are a resident. So I am resident in Thailand, but my pension get paid in a bank account in my home country, and will not be remitted to Thailand for the foreseeable future, in fact I doubt I have a need to transfer money for the next 20 years. So where do I pay taxes?
  15. Big C and Mini Big C have Cheers Riceberry, and is also my preferred beer. All others don't seem to stock it any more. I tried Dunkel, but switched back to Riceberry
  16. Exactly, and that actually might be because I'm not a Brit, which should be very obvious from my first post in this thread. In addition to that, I also haven't had any income in my home country for the past 14 years, though I started to earn a pension this month
  17. Virtual people only die when their network crashes
  18. Never heard about that place, but sounds as a rip off joint, asking 600 baht for breakfast and coffee, when most likely they get their stream from illegal IPTV at 10 baht a day
  19. Unfortunately the same doesn't apply to you
  20. Sorry mate, I thought we had a sensible conversation, but it seems I was wrong. How many % of the expats in Thailand is American, and how many % of those are entitled to those pensions, compared to the whole expat community?

  22. Nobody said NATO command is demented, but regardless of a Norwegian being the leader, we all know who rules NATO and there is plenty of evidence of his dementia. Come on wokes, let the sad and confused emojis come
  23. Maybe something was lost in translation,. Yes the 800K for immigration purpose has to be brought in only once...................... if you don't touch it. But you have to live, and then 800k even will provide a meagre living. Not everyone, I would actually assume very few, are in the same positions as you where their pension is exempt of any taxes anywhere.
