Another (tricky) income tax question
BenStark replied to BenStark's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I know very well what account I opened, as I informed me beforehand. The rule for Thai banks is pretty straight forward. Resident account for Thai nationals or residence permit holders, and non-resident for others. I didn't send it here with the intention to send it back, it were certain circumstances that made me decide to send back. You are very good at one thing, which is post one thing, then contradict yourself and try to talk around it, but I wouldn't expect anything else from someone who was a janitor at a bank and now want to project himself as a financial expert. Can you please keep your promise and add me to your ignore list, and never look at my posts again? -
Another (tricky) income tax question

The account was always non-resident, and the reason they have to convert to Thai baht first is because officially the money is not in Thailand yet. So they can't send something back they haven't received yet. An acquaintance who has probably hundreds of millions in Thai banks called 3 different banks in 2014, that is 1 year before I even deposited the money, about with the question about the procedure of sending money in an FCD back overseas, and they all told the same/ I thought I was on ignore? -
My OP should have been very clear, even to those with a 2 digit IQ. The OP was what would they appreciate more, a larger quantity of fragrant rice, or a smaller quantity of premium quality rice, as both would cost the same price. I DIDN'T ask what else I should buy, how much I should spend as that is none of your business, or if I should give cash instead. The reason I want to donate rice is that I know then every child will get to join my gift. If I wanted to buy something for each child individual, even the smallest McD menu would set me back tens of thousands of baht for over 100 of children. Most on this forum don't donate ever a SINGLE baht to a children home, so who are you to tell me how much I should give and what I should spend it on? And now admin, please close this thread as I'm sick of the imbeciles
-
When you were a kid I doubt you lived in Thailand and ate rice every day. I'm sure they buy rice and everything else from their available funds, and rice can be kept for long time. As I said, there are more than 100 kids in there, if i want to buy something special for every kid, even something small would run in the tens of thousands of baht.
-
It is none of your business how much I want to donate, and I didn't respond to your first off topic post, because my OP was very clear. Which one will they appreciate more, a bigger quantity of standard quality rice, or a smaller quantity (costing the same amount of money) of premium quality. I didn't ask about pencils or colour books
-
Again, I didn't mention any amount of the donation, but yes it will not be tens of thousands, only that for the same money I can get more quantity of the standard grade of rice. But those that want to slag me off, feel free to post here how much you donated
-
Are you really so ignorant that you can't read, or is it the chip on your shoulder that is itching for an argument? Where did I mention the amount I want to spend? I said that for the same amount I can get a larger quantity of the lower grade rice.

Because that is the browser version, and only allows 720p. You can not install the Netflix app on a PC, unless you are on Windows 10 or 11 Edge allows 4K, but you will also to be on W10

I'm not sure about that, because a foreigner can only have a non-resident foreign currency account. And according to the below link, that account is treated as an offshore account. My understanding is that money in an offshore account is not considered to be in Thailand yet. https://www.tilleke.com/insights/banking-thailand-resident-or-non-resident-account/#:~:text=Resident and non-resident bank, similar to an offshore account. -
You can install Firefox or Chrome, if you know how. Google is your friend
-
It isn't rubbish, but get the Plus version
-
No I don't work for Mecool, I just gave some kind advice to a pretentious idiot, because I know what I'm talking about, who asks a question and then claims he knows it all better. And I didn't refer to Mecools 2000 baht and up, because they have about 15 models and only 3 are certified
-
A Mecool Km2 Plus cost 2000 baht on Lazada or Shopee, and is certified, I doubt you can buy a TV for that. A firestick is underpowered and has poor wifi, because it is plugged in at the back of your TV, so unless that wifi signal is really strong in the shed, it will be an issue.
-
Like I said, those cheap boxes are not certified, and I'm sure that you are aware that what is shown on Lazada listings doesn't make it true. Very few Android boxes are Netflix certified, even minix boxes from 6 -7000 baht aren't. I have you 2 specific models of Mecool that are certified, most other Mecool boxes aren't either
-
Then you need a box that is Netflix certified, the cheaper boxes are not certified, so you can't even download the app. Mecool KM2 and KM 2 plus are Netflix cerified. The box provided by 3BB is not certified
-
I don't know if they have enough, and don't intend to go ask them, but I guess most of their rice is purchased with the funds they have. I think there are over 100 kids there Their foundation is foreign funded
-
I had the same happen to me a few years ago, some 20 baht superglue from 7/11, and it hasn't moved since.
-
Thanks, but the question was actually what they would appreciate most. A higher quantity of standard quality, or a lower quantity of premium quality?

A Non- Resident foreign currency account is considered offshore, so obviously not a Thai bank account. https://www.tilleke.com/insights/banking-thailand-resident-or-non-resident-account/#:~:text=Resident and non-resident bank, similar to an offshore account. https://www.kasikornbank.com/en/personal/account/pages/foreign-currency.aspx FCD Accounts for Non-Residents (NR) Qualifications Individuals who are not of Thai nationality and do not have foreign identification or permanent residency in Thailand -

PLEASE add me to your ignore list NOW You claimed that I as a non resident had a resident account. And since a non resident account is offshore, a Thai bank can not send it back overseas before they have received it. Hence they have to exchange to Thai baht first, then back to foreign currency -

Well your article confirms that the money is NOT in Thailand A resident bank account is, in theory, one owned by a person residing in Thailand for regular use within Thailand, while a non-resident bank account refers to one owned by a person having no presence or residence in Thailand. For the purpose of a resident bank account, Thai residence can be proved by a permanent residence permit or a valid work permit in Thailand. In principle, a foreigner who has no proof of residence in Thailand can only open a non-resident bank account; Resident and non-resident bank accounts differ mainly in respect of remitting funds out of Thailand. This is because a resident bank account is considered an account within Thailand, while a non-resident bank account is treated in a manner similar to an offshore account. -

Did I ever say it happens physically? I said I had the documents to prove it, which means, the document shows how many Thai baht my Euros Here are the rules for resident and non-resident FCD with Kbank, which clearly show the only option for a foreigner on a visa is non-resiident. When you click on the links at the bottom of the page it also shows the fees for withdrawal of the specific currencies, and bank insists that it get withdrawn, then exchange back to foreign currency to send back. https://www.kasikornbank.com/en/personal/account/pages/foreign-currency.aspx Still waiting for your link that shows this is not the procedure for non resident FCD
