  1. Safety is the last thing on a Thai's mind, look at the carnage and stupidity displayed daily on the roads, sidewalks, and Zebra crossings. The first step is for Thai people to look in the mirror, and visually see who is creating the safety hazards in Thailand, soon as they do that we can start to address the problems.
  2. Then we are doomed before we start.
  3. I see it here daily, in fact constantly, which is why I think Thai people are suicidal. It's the first thing foreign drivers need to learn before driving here in Thailand, Thai's will do things no other reasonable driver would ever think of doing. Formal training and testing would probably fix that, but seeing the current and ridiculous LTD parking lot test, they seem to be more interested in adding more dead bodies to statistics.
  4. Just look around, there are plenty of people gimping around with mangled feet and hands, and other debilitating injuries. I am pretty sure most of those are from motorcycle accidents, which is why before I sold the Big Bike, I stuck to ATGATT (All The Gear All The Time)
  5. If so, then it appears he did like Thai's usually do, an tried to cut over the hash marked area at the last second. Solid lines and hash marks are there for a reason, lesson learned.
  6. Since the pole was mounted on top of a raised and marked curb, the outcome more than likely be the same.
  7. Wet, highspeed, and what was probably an Oh-Sh*t moment application of brakes when he saw the sign coming up fast.
  8. Unless you are an alcoholic, I think you can wait until your plane ride is over.
  9. I see this regularly, same thing at STOP signs, pull out in front of oncoming traffic? Not to mention, soon as one person leaves the STOP sign (that's if they stopped at all), everyone does, I wonder if they realize every car has to stop at the STOP sign.
  10. Exactly! In fact, Singapore "leads" by a pretty healthy margin, Thailand would have to jump 14 positions to overtake them to "lead" Southeast Asia.
  11. Yes, did you? Thailand does not "lead" in 28th place, PERIOD!
  12. Is Singapore not in Southeast Asia? If it is, then Thailand does not "lead" in 28th place, it would be 2nd in Southeast Asia, Singapore would "lead".
  13. The problem is that laws are only on the books to protect the officials, even though they knowingly do nothing to enforce the laws, which makes them complicit.
  14. I'm blown away that the company owner hasn't already succumbed to violence.
  15. Life is full of choices, they chose poorly...
  16. I won't be holding my breath, but I am willing to bet this time next year, nothing will have changed. The streets, Zebra crossings, sidewalks, and public/private transportation will continue to be death traps.
  17. Which begs the question, who approved this conversion, who inspected it, and cleared it for use on Thai roads?
  18. Soon to be a resident of Dubai, give her time, the rest of her family seems to enjoy it there.
  19. Please tell me she didn't breed.
  20. Thai Regulator standards? The manufacturers standards? ....or Somchai's standards?
  21. Thai culture, everyone raves about it.
  22. Cue the celebrity commercial endorsements, add a gullible public, pump and dump.
  23. Lets hope they stop shipment of their products, or any repair parts, until Thailand comes into compliance.
