  1. Daddy's little puppet better learn her place, or she may get a scolding soon.
  2. They created it, had the King sign off on it, then it went into the dustbin never to be seen again. However, it still exists, so we farang can use it to our advantage when an idiot Thai plows into us, hopefully we survive the crash though.
  3. I am sure the US government is not too keen on supplying Thailand too much access to technology that could very well be passed on to China.
  4. Forgo the magic, just get everyone to wear one of those lucky Amulets, they ward off danger from anywhere.
  5. Just make sure not to invest too much of yourself, or your money, here in the banana republic of Thailand.
  6. Well, like drivers blowing through red lights and stop signs, hitting people in Zebra crossings, and motorcycles driving on sidewalks or against traffic......its just a regular occurrence, laws are just suggestions here, move along everyone, nothing to see here.
  7. With any hope it will be washed off the face of the Earth, then they can build a "family friendly" city farther inland 😉
  8. Committee, then a committee to check the reports from the committee, then another committee to check the work of the committee checking the committee.......rinse, repeat. A few trillion baht later, and after the city sinks into the ocean, they'll find someone of lower level importance to charge with malfeasance.
  9. Which is weird, try fixing or working/adding on anything to your house or land in the USA without a permit and the local building inspector will be up your you know what within minutes.
  10. I found the police and insurance agents love that I have everything on HD cameras, I am glad I had them, both my wife and I have both had other drivers lie about accidents, the police have sided with us every time. So I would say you are fine with the cameras, at least from my experience. Just follow the laws and rules, and don't change your lane to avoid an accident, don't want to get blamed for hitting someone else, just let it play out in your lane.
  11. Oh, dear God, please let be! 🙏
  12. Driving like the locals, now if there was only a proper police force around, the illegal and dangerous road-blocking vendor cart wouldn't be allowed on the road and the suicidal Thais/Farang drivers would be removed from the roads as well. Instead? We get a free-for-all, an award winning Darwin experiment played out on the streets. Plenty of dead people because the RTP, Government and citizens couldn't care less about public safety.
  13. Brown envelopes for everyone, corrupt employees at all levels have been satisfied, nothing to see here.
  14. Demolish it, and pay the residents back with interest.
  15. B24 Million in one year?! Someone was either overly trusting, or completely stupid to let that go that far.
  16. A nation built on corruption, imbedded in every Thai at birth, and embraced by the government is bound to be exploited. It will take generations to fix the issues here, and nobody is even willing to start the healing process, especially under the most corrupt Thai government ever conceived. With Thaksin at its helm, good luck!
  17. I think they just need better Amulets.
  18. Best way to "protect tourists" is to remove all Thai drivers from Thai roads, problem solved.
  19. That was good for a laugh....
  20. Why does everybody here, including lowly government employees, wear what appears to be uniforms that resemble those of Admirals of great militaries? They even cover them with fake badges and insignias.
  21. Any one with any integrity would choose "None of the above".
  22. Unless everyone else was at a dead stop, then yes indeed he was speeding.
  23. Exactly, what kind of profit could he make, unless those phones were stolen in Australia. Plus, if he is 39 yrs old, those were some really rough years. With fingerprinting on entering, I don't see how he thought he would get away with reentering under a different passport. But I am surprised that when his fingerprints were taken at the airport, that the system didn't immediately flag him, I guess the immigration system isn't as sophisticated as I thought.
