Like it, when a small fragment of a post gets quoted. That's revealing too... Just to remind, I was saying that this guy failed grossly in his job which is to ensure the security of patrons, instead he deliberately caused grievous injury. He is a failure, why? a) He took personally some provocation, while he should have handled the disturbance as part of an established security process. b) He had two colleagues nearby, who should have helped to calm down the drunk but didn't intervene and let him "make the kill". c) His footwork, and posture show him getting in position for a lethal blow, which only a weapon in the hands of the drunk could have justified This security guard is an abject failure, a mindless thug, who should never have been given this job. His boss is totally responsible for this situation, the venue should be closed for a year.

Why would he not ?

Absolutely not, good security work would be to subdue misbehaving patrons with minimal injury. Most of these thugs have taken their job because hurting, or worse, killing westerners gives them wet dreams. They are just animals.

If he was in his right mind when he planned his trip, he got himself a proper travel insurance. Now, if he got stabbed by a ladyboy, as so often happens...

Well I came as a tourist a couple of time, but in those years Thai food was great and light on the stomach, now they have replaced coconut milk by tons of sugar and cheap oil so everyone leaves leaves with cholecystitis .. The night scene now looks like a soviet brothel, used to be fun and careless. I used to trek among the Poppy fields, now they are replaced by tea and strawberries. Aka, Lisu and Hmong ladies wore their traditional costumes all day long.. And I could go on. Thailand lives on a reputation established 40 years ago which now can't be backed at all by a country which is turning unpleasant at an accelerated rate. Even Stickman seem aware of the change now. Oh yes in my early years I never saw an angry Thai, and never heard of tourists getting beaten up...

Define fun. And "missery" BTW? Is it "missing things" ? Don't have that, buy I'd love my kids to get as much as I had...
