First hearing scheduled for Move Forward party dissolution case
Ben Zioner replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
What are you doing when you have a snake in your living room? Does it give you a sense of power to kill it? When I read a read a post I hope I'll learn something or see a different perspective, When I write a post I share my view on something, sometimes facts or knowledge, When someone is funny I laugh, When someone is consistently obnoxious (anti semitic) or looking for a fight I block. Happens rarely though. And nobody is perfect, but where is the sense of power? And how many times did you read me saying I was using the block list? One? or Two? -

So the never look at Japan. Deliberately I don't mention Western European democracies, which are far too advanced to be mentioned here. -

Thailand is has now a "mild authoritarian regime". The word "democracy" is not more applicable. -

I hope they condemned Putin and Russia. I admit that I didn't follow these "talks" as we are way beyond meetings. WU needs an across the board 3% VAT hike to finance the war. -
I guess it is because locals tend to have small "milk". I do enjoy the scarcity.

"able" or "unable" ? -
Yes, I was aware that government/state pensions are taxed at source in many countries. But my point was that very few will reach the 80000 USD threshold with such income. Therefore they must have other forms of pensions (or whatever) that remained untaxed while living in Thailand. The US being the exception as their citizens, wherever they live, have the duty to declare their worldwide income. tax exempt Also, I never "structured my income", I just chose the right employers.

This is probably true if you reduce the Planet to the US. None of the EU countries taxes citizens, some tax Government pensions at source though. But how many Gvt pensions will amount to 80000 USD?, so evidently many of us have lived [near] IT free while here. Tax exemption therefore remains an important issue. Important enough to live 186 days out of country if needed.

To proceed with expatriation without a proper health was reckless 20 years ago just as it is today. And should Thailand bear the burden of healthcare for a population of uninsured Geezers? The least the Government can do will be make sure that all new arrivals have a proper long term health cover. Now what to do with the people who thought they were entitled to quality, low cost health care in Thailand? I have no idea, but the Thai authorities would have to admit that have been guilty of too much leniency with these visas issued in the past. -

Correct, so masks should be mandatory situations were some people are particularly exposed. For instance last week at Rutnin they handed out masks at the reception. Their highly skilled staff is in close contact with dozens of potential carriers every day.- 304 replies
