UK Government Pensions Exchange Rate
Middle Aged Grouch replied to Daffy D's topic in UK & Europe Topics and Events
With all the new trends to flush money to Zelinski and Ukraine, soon they will be looking for any excuse to raise taxes and cut government spending (that includes pensions). -
A normal form of hatred and anger is a common humain emotion, like joy or sorrow. The best remedy and quickest could be to avoid the things that cause it. Of course in some situations it could be impossible to avoid such a situation. In that case, some good tranquilizers and a good shrink can help, before the hate gets out of hand and head.

Pattaya Bars Empty Amid Low Season and Shifting Tourism Trends
Middle Aged Grouch replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Even cheaper in Spain or the Canary Islands with top hot ladies on duty ! Great climate all year around, food hardly a bit more costly then Bangkok, but no more immigration scams, hassles, no more getting cheated in a inflated bill in a restaurant, no more crooked tailors who cheat with poor work and so on.... -
Pattaya Bars Empty Amid Low Season and Shifting Tourism Trends
Middle Aged Grouch replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Good news. At last the falangs and other girlie bar patrons are realising how those fine bar stool girls are cheating, ripping off clients and overcharging either for the drinks, the bar fines or the ST or LT 😜...At one point better off in any soapy, negociate the rate before hand (sic!) and release the big load at a honest rate. -
And then there were none.

You can post anything as long as your identity remains private and undisclosed obviously. But if it's something that's say a bit hot, wait till you are not in Thailand to post it or better, post it under a VPN, different name and different IP altogether. -
Check the restrictions of the maximum power outputs of the unit if you intend to carry in a plane.

It definately will boost the sale of the booze merchants...but it will generate a higher ratio of drunks all over and that will have a heavy social cost. Be it in healthcare, in public safety managment requirements as booze turns people violent and plainly st***id...and other unaccounted issues. At the end of the day the returns will mean nothing, compared to the collateral costs generated. But again, who cares ? As long as the chums in the industry can make their profit and "share" with those in power, that's what matters maybe ?

Thailand Faces Surge in Influenza: 100,000 Cases, 9 Deaths
Middle Aged Grouch replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Depending where you are, there seems to be a new trend to hush away foreigners or even a thai lady with a falang husband. I saw the attitude in Hua HIn quite often happening to others. Maybe not in Bangkok or Pattaya ? -
Thailand Faces Surge in Influenza: 100,000 Cases, 9 Deaths

Not surprising with all the chinese, korean and japanese tourists all over coughing and spitting for some. Wear a mask when moving around in public transport or in crowded areas. Other falangs can also be infected after all and for sure, getting to close to the bar girls/hookers is the best place to nest and spread viruses. -
I'm doing it all with a proper vengeance!

Criticising others and being condescending is also a form of a kind of inferiority complex. -
Living the good life in Thailand.

I have more fun reading Bob then reading some others thinking that they bear the divine science and enlightment or who are rough, rude or agressive. Not speaking for you of course but I'm sure you get the point. p.s. "regards". -

OP is rather foolish to pay so much, as that is how prices increase due to the fools who accept cheating rates. No hooker should be paid more then 3000 or 4000 maximum in Thailand. With those kind of rates OP is refering, I'd rather cash out in Europe. -
Thailand is doing everything to attract these young drunk and junkies from all over the west. So now it's your problem Thailand. Handle their unruly behaviour and continue to harass with absurd laws and immigration hassles the 50-60-70+ year old foreigners who are the real quality tourists, who own property and they bring in more money then a bunch of teenage drunks only in Thailand to smoke drugs. But one just cannot change stupid.

Foreigners Face New Hurdles in Opening Thai Bank Accounts
Middle Aged Grouch replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Why would the Thai'S bother ? We falangs talk a lot but at the end of the day, we are all like sheep and accept all the absurd rules that are daily invented to make life more difficult for foreigners. Sure you'll always have the poor chap who has married a Thai lady and thinks he's fully local and integrated. But that is totally wrong, The day his money will stop, he will just be thrown out on the road (cynical). Not to mention even how rude they can be in some banks. In Bangkok it's ok, but in Hua Hin market village. A certain bank written in Green Letters and starting with K for exemple. At the market village branch of this bank, the man at the cash counter is openly rude with foreigners and makes it a point to try to refuse anything that is possible. Same with a customer "service" lady in B bank, outside market village on Phetkacem Road. She also seems to dislilke falangs, often rather rude, but just loves their money apparently. Consider Vietnam, Philippines, Laos, India or even Japan where things are not all that costly if you go outside Tokyo. They are far more respectful and welcoming to foreigners and 10 times less visa hassles for long stay. -
are all these subscriptions contracted from providers abroad, legal in Thailand ?
-
Bangkok is far cheaper and better services compared to Hua Hin or Phuket that are overpriced, overcharging for everything and the falang really feels treated like a cash cow and nothing else. So Bangkok is far better a place, if it was not for the highly polluted air of that part of Thailand and the hazardous air pollution of Bangkok and the trafic mess.

With all the homeless and people dying in the streets of NYC, LA, Washington and anyplace else in the US...US Aid need to go first to their own. No rocket science here and nobody gives a hoot if Musk or Tusk is lying or being truthful. Just plain logic. So move on the Democrat loosers please. Thank you. 🙏
-
Just for the kind information of all the distinguished readers here, this mess is the same in the great Hua Hin, across the bay. So it may be worse here, but on the other side of the bay, depending on where, it is just as bad. To the sole exception that here in Pattaya things are far cheaper compared to Hua Hin that is becoming a full time racket, price wise.

Phuket Raid Captures Four Foreign Hackers Behind 560M Baht Scam
Middle Aged Grouch replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
The lesson of this is that if you live in some pool villa developpment, keep to yourself. You never know starting from the managment or neighbours, who are the criminals evading what in their respective countries. -
It had been told and warned to us all here. For those who can, start looking at another country in Asia or India more welcoming to foreigners. Stick in Thailand if you have to but never more then 178,5 days because they are capable of making up some other BS if it's 179 days and saying not in their calender or god know what, Thailand does not like us foreigners. It loves only our money and that's it. Time to wake up gentleman. Pack and leave before the 180th day of stay. Stick around here only for half time. You'll get a longer way for your bucks. Bye bye Thailand.

A good builder with good reputation......I stopped on "good builder".....a majority of the contractors in Hua Hin (and surely elsewhere in Thailand= are just a bunch of scammers and cheats. Not all of course, but most. At the extreme they will con you of all your money like in this case...but usually the buyer is conned with poor construction and material that is invisible to any common buyer, when the house is all nice finished and painted. The problems show up after a few years. And this is just the visible part of how most of the contractors and developpers scam foreign buyers in Thailand who are on leasehold and even on freehold. They know they get away with it and know that foreigners in Thailand have only the right to shell out money from the builder to having to tip the expectant workers who show up for smaller jobs with that big greedy grin when they say it's a falang.
