Spicy food can lead to colon cancer and other issues with age. Usually there are no symptoms during the process, Ban all spicy food and at the restaurant make sure they understand your request. If not, don't go back if they fuss or pretend not to understand.

Fasting for 24 hours can give the body a rest. Especially for those who eat deadly foods like excessive fats, ham, cheese, butter, pizzas, burgers, Coca Cola and similar, white bread, white rice, over spicy thai food, food that is full of grease and oil etc... but this can be of no use if one continues drinking oneself to death. None of the above are harmful, if consumed with the golden mantra...with strict moderation and even more with age. Up to you if you want to enjoy life as long as possible.

Thailand Urged to Tackle Foreign Influence in Tourism Business
Middle Aged Grouch replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
We want the money of the falang, we want to overcharge them for anything at anyplace but we don't want them herel -
Regarding sunglasses one never can say if they are fakes or genuine even when sold in regular shops in Thailand. Not to mention that top international reliable brands like the Ray's or the Maui's usually cost much more in Thailand.

Ceiling collapse at Wat Pa Na Don leaves monks in shock
Middle Aged Grouch replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
Not surprising as the worksmanship in Thailand looks great from outside, but definately does not always respect the minimal norms of reliability. Most of the new posh appearing villas with private pools in Thailand look great. But the ceilings inside are usually always in wallboard or plasterboard and above it's an open space till the roof. No real insulation often. So think twice before running and buying a villa in Thailand that can seem at first to be a great deal. -
Thailand’s smog showdown: Clearing the air with a bold 30% cut
Middle Aged Grouch replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
All the vow's and waïs will not help....as long as people continue burning their garbage or crops all over, nothing will change. Places like Hua Hin (hin lek fai area) have become worse with burning stench all over every third day. And of course nobody gives a hoot. All the more reason here not to stay in Thailand for more then 60 to 90 days maximum (for those who can). -
Lot's of great information and thank you to all the valuable contributions But not to forget that each different immigration office in Thailand or area, has or makes it's own rules. Their own rules that can vary from one day to another, depending of the mood of God dressed in brown uniform behind his or her glass counter !!

And so the exodus of quality expats begins. This time it's personal
Middle Aged Grouch replied to Galong's topic in Phuket
People are leaving due to all the tax doubts, due to all the cheating against foreigners, due to the ambient hostility and racism against westerners as no matter what some try to convice themselves, Thai's will always badly consider westerners....people also get fed up with all the absurd immigration rules, the TM forms, re-entry permits, the long queues at arrivals at the airport, the deadly roads or even the risks of getting bitten by a snake on the toilet (as one lady mentioned to me once on leaving the residential compex)......Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia in Asia...but even Malta in Europe or other islands of Spain where there is great quality of life, warm tolerable climate all year round, no extreme rain or heat, cheap cost of living, healthcare and mainly you are in Europe... up to you at the end of the day to choose.... -
Have often seen people quietly removing those hinges or screws from the full lid set and pocketing, Technically speaking, it's theft.

Phuket taxi driver hits foreign man on airport zebra crossing
Middle Aged Grouch replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Foreigners from all over the world, be aware that Thailand is no longer that lovely country that make foreigners feel at home and welcome. There is ambient frustration against foreigners, open xenophobia and racism towards tourists in Thailand and nationwide informal rule to cheat foreigners from anything to nothing. For a safer holiday, I would go to Vietnam or anyplace else in Asia. -
Cobra Slithers into Pickup Truck Engine Compartment
Middle Aged Grouch replied to webfact's topic in Southern Thailand News
Lucky for the driver that the deadly snake did not make his way inside the driver-passenger compartment area. As these rascals can squeeze practilly through keyholes...the issue could have been fatal for the driver. We all love animals, but these creatures are deadly and a threat to human beings. I'd definately rather have them as a belt or a bag but not grining at me to bite or spit (if a spitting cobra). -
Other posts are well documented so here a few common sense basic points. As a falang in Thailand, keep in mind that you will rarely get justice in any court on minor house litigations. House that may be bought on freehold (only for a Thai spouse for ex) or on freehold to a foreigner (you own house but land is leased for 30 years, renewable I guess). Then come the developpers. Most can be also westerners who will deliver lovely finished houses with pools at bargain prices. But very often, there are issues in the hidden specs like the electricity, plumbing, wall plastering, locks and mainly the leaks in the roof. Most houses have concrete walls but the ceilings are just hard plaster boards. As for the roofs, just take a ladder and open the technical area trap door (usually in a ceiling of the house) and you will see the roof exposed and if there is light visible, it means potential leaks. Minor issues of course, but you better watch this at first, as once delivered, the developpers usually will tell you to go to h... as soon as they get their money. Go to any developpment you like and talk to the real home owners living full time if any (not the people who rent for holidays). You will get some fine horror stories for sure. Also have in mind that in many leasehold developpments you will pay the utilities (water, electricity) directly to the developper who will charge you much more then the official government rate.Even if the price may seem reasonable, it can be upto 10 times more. With all this in mind, go ahead and buy. But only put in what you can afford to loose. And don't fall for oversized pools that the developpers will try to push in at the same price. As a bigger pool means more monthly expenses you will have to pay to them

What happen to the insurance when selling the car
Middle Aged Grouch replied to CanNot's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I would first cancel all insurance on the vehicle and only then sell it. I dont trust any new buyer to do the job and cancel etc. -
Pink I.D Card & Yellow Book
Middle Aged Grouch replied to Bangkok Black's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Written laws and rules change depending on the local Amphur and the mood of the officer in charge. Thus, if you are in an area where the chap in charge hates foreigners and is jealous of their XL lifestyle, much better off to take a lawyer to handle and assist in person with you mainly when going to the local government offices. -
Always amazed how stupid some fishy people are, in perpetrating their acts or theft, despite the presence of CCTV all over. No limit to stupid sometimes. Before wearing, we always look in the shoes left outside for little pests or snakes. Now we have to examine the shoes for any fishy white slimy streaks 🤮

The real jerk in this story is the so called "friend" who hid the change and put the Dutch into hot soup. Not that I defend such bully type westerners. But on the other hand, foreigners are just fed up in getting cheated all over Thailand and plainly being seen as cash cows. The cheating against foreigners is a bad image for Thailand and for tourism. But no excuse for these mouthy drunks and on the next incident he should be put back in a nice dutch plane and banned 5 years for disturbing the peace.

Has my sex tourist friend found a loop hole?
Middle Aged Grouch replied to AustinRacing's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Your are very right in your very houmourous post. In soapys and "massage" parlours, they rarely change the sheets after each client. People often overlook the harsh and awful skin diseases and other issues one can catch purely by contact with contaminated sheets or towels. But I agree, that many here sadly are in a state of mind where deep inside themselves, they just don't care for life really any more. It's sad... -
Coming to Thailand
Middle Aged Grouch replied to thaiasia's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Far to much power given at the sole discretion of the immigration officer in his glass cage at the airport. Those people are free do refuse entry even for people with a valid visa on any absurd excuse. This amongst other absurd immigration hassles or forms, need urgent reform and change if Thailand wants to get back somewhat of it's past popularity with foreigners (and our money). -
I'll vote for anyone in the US or anyplace in the world, who stops showering Ukraine with billions in cash and weapons, who cancels the sanctions against Russia and mainly their cheap gas and oil, who stops the new sanctions against iranian oil and who stops supporting the crimes in Gaza, Lebanon and the West Bank, As all this american interference is creating global inflation, increasing prices and putting the entier world in economic turmoil.
