  1. Well done....a rouwdy with such an attitude against a customer complaint, has no place in a hotel. Some in Hua Hin service industry (bar, hotel, restaurant, shops) can have a rude attitude against foreigners. Better not forget who is bringing the money...
  2. Very true what the OP says, why are even "decent" people supporting Trump. All shows how bad the Biden gang is if even "decent" people are going to vote for the Orange Duck, and I would do the same.
  3. They could form a congregation with the christian catholic priests, bishops all over the west.
  4. One may wonder if in Thailand there is an increasing hate against foreigners ? Seeing outsiders come in with cash to spend on booze, young thai women, shopping, restaurants.... seems to fuel rage and jealousy amongst the local males.
  5. Some have pointed out an interesting point on how the tiles they use here can get slippery. The glossy finished tiles look cool and are used all over the place in houses, condos, public spaces etc...but they are deadly over slippery when it's wet or with wet shoes or when they have been over polished-cleaned like it's always done.
  6. The cop should be sacked as people with such anger patterns have no place in public service.
  7. Always check if it costs more to book all in one go, with the stop over in some hub in the Middle east to change aircraft....or if it's cheaper to book from your city to the middle east airport hub and then have a separate booking fron the hub to your final destination.
  8. Drugs are making people go from stupid to public hazards - be it with the falangs or the locals. And in Thailand there seems to be no shortage of either.
  9. The Asian female frame is catching up with those of fat western women mainly due to the invasion of all the unhealthy american fast food chains from Burgers to Pizzas, to Ice Creams and so on. Simple. And this applies to us guys also, with the difference that us also have the excessive booze habbits that make most falangs in Thailand into the friendly neighbourhood "beer pot belly". One may find it a bit ironic to see a western overweight male making comments on Thai women's frames. A bit like a foreigner in a foreign country making unpleseant comments against other foreigners.
  10. I'd go for direct flights from any western country - avoid the hubs via Dubai, Doha or Abu Dhabi. One can never know.
  11. Unless you need to have a hospital close for daily use, Hua Hin is not the best choice. Things in Hua Hin are more pricey then elsewhere in Thailand. Worse sometimes then Phuket mainly in restaurants that openly overcharge and I found prices to be similar as those in some areas of Spain in good restaurants. For living, stay aroung the main town area. Don't fall for those swanky developpments in Hin Lek Fai or arond Black Mountain area despite all the publicity that is all around. Mainly stay away form those farang run developpments with their houses often full of badly built defective plumbing, walls or electricity or roofs. It won't show on the nice photo or when you see it but at the end of the day you won't be making a bargain on that wonderful "pool Villa" of some developpment having the name of a flower for exemple. Above all when you leave town, are, you will have no public transport. So either you drive your own car, or will have to pay for a taxi each time. You will be shelling out huge "common fees" monthly plus shelling out around 4000 THB per month electricity and water for the pool when you are not in the premises. As these villa developpements charge a bit extra for the water and electricity in Hua Hin. Not sure how legal it is thoug ..... Not to forget the price of food in Hua Hin. The supermarkets like Villa Market and similar selling foreign packed food are just an open scam. Even dishwasher powder costs double of what you would pay for it at home. And 40 for a bar hooker in Hua HIn is considdered young... Dont fall for what many say or who rush to HH just because others did it....many far better areas in Thailand, with more polite people who will not be cheating you from morning to night.... then boring Hua Hin, believe me. And if you can, avoid those falang run villa developpments that are just out there to drain out money from foreigners who cannot buy on freehold. But as they say...it's up to you...
  12. The only times when the Bolt drivers try to cheat is when they turn aroung and ask to pay extra that is not included on the app. I usually politely refuse and then complain against the crook on the application. Happened many times in Hua HIn where the Bolt drivers were now and them quite agressive and rude and never even bothered to get out an help to unload all the goods I usually had when comming back from the mall. If not. these taxi apps are fare better then the taxi meter or tuk tuks that are plainy a mafia and a bunch of cheats in Thailand who nevertheless seem to have far to much support in many media.
  13. Such cases that are getting from bad to worse agains foreigners, dut to the current xenophobia and racism in Thailand, is leaving more then one foreigner here to consider shifting to another place in Asia or in Sunny Spain with cost of living similar or cheaper for many things compared to Thailand now.
  14. This Bangkok taxi driver must be the type that hates farangs, cheats foreigners on a daily basis on refusing to ride witj the meter probably...no wonder Grab, Bolt and Uber became planetary successes almost overnight. I never give in to the Bangkok taxi or tuk tuk mafia. It's either the BTS or MRT or Grab. Mainly at the airport. I flee the official taxis like the plague...in fact I'd rather hire a car from the aiport to downtown and even pay double or triple, but no way those regular and agressive taxi cheats are going to get my money any more.
  15. Very true. The Hua Hin airport bus for instance. It's a perfect place to catch a chill or a flu for those with flip flops and a only a t shirt. Always carry a jumper with you as all public transport in Thailand is over chilled and a one-way ticket to get a nasty cold and chill.
  16. Not surprising when one sees the state of those mini vans which many locals and tourists use. No checking of course as with a few hundred Bhat one can totally bypass any road check with corrupt police and officials. A bit more for the bribe if it's a falang driving.
  17. Not that I have anything against anybody but starting fights in pubs and getting rude and agressive with others is quite a caracteristic with many pub drunks from the middle or lower classes in some poor cities and towns of the UK. Almost something "cultural". Of course this does not mean all are like that in any place, but the problem is usually the nice and decent folks are hard to find and are not monegering all over the streets and stalls of Thailand.
  18. As a rule, I tend to avoid the falangs in groups and the bully types who are looking for conversation all over public spaces. After a few drinks, they can go from stupid to very stupid. Far to many have numb brains due to excessive drinking or drug consumption. The place is not the same it was 10 years ago and there is lot's of anger all around as people are more and more broke and cannot affort the pussy as much as before.
  19. If it's rented condo, the owner has to do the job. If the owner refuses to assume, leave and when back home abroad, name and shame the owner.
  20. Assuming that they are the culprits with 0% doubt, they learnt their lesson. No mercy for such people breaking the law and stealing others peoples hard earned work and money, should they be locals or not. But this also shows us how cannabis can fully alter judgment and make the addicts break the law as it happened here....from all the parties involved that is.
  21. Any excuse is good in Thailand to snatch away money from foreigners and tourists.
  22. Black is a colour that gets dirty very fast on clothes or on the car if a black car.
  23. In my carry around wallet bag, I have a note written in Thai and in bold letters to which hospital I want to be taken in case of accident. As I usually only stay always the same towns, I mention it for each of the towns where I am and tell them that they can use my credit card for the payment. I'd rather be in debt alive then dead to to some bureaucratic absurdity. Also have the emergency contact numbers in case, both for here and abroad.
  24. A bit too polluted in these areas...
  25. It's also the current Immigration system and hassles that can encourage dishonest agents to fraud. Other countries in Asia do not make so much fuss with their immigration rules.
