I have that Pneumonia feeling again
Great to gear that about the Prof - sometimes the Drs here are less than 'well trained'. And I hear you - they are truly delusional evangelists who will not accept that their beliefs are possibly wrong. Everyone else is wrong as far as they are concerned - because they heard a message direct from (insert deity name) through a little handicapped girl.

Blood Pressure Measuring Universal Standard ?
I will try that. When I visit the skin specialist the car park in the hospital is a 5 min walk from the clinic with no shelter from sun and heat. As soon as I enter they want to measure my BP and get very annoyed when I say no thanks. Luckily the Thai wife has many uses and one is keeping idiot 'nurses' away from me for 10-15 minutes.

Judge Halts 'Alligator Alcatraz' Over Everglades Threat
That seems to be the system now that the Dems post power. Go to some random loony left District Judge and get whatever you want ordered in a Court. Like all the other things they have done, it will be over turned on appeal, but meanwhile it slows things down. But that is all the Dems want - time to get back in power and stop Trump from destroying their woke utopian delusions. I think that because of this 'lawfare' abuse by Dems, there is going to be a massive shake up of the Judicial system in USA. The Trump Administration will get a Federal Law enacted that bans District and State Courts ruling on matters that are Federal in nature, which will go to the SCOTUS for final decision. This will IMO include severe sanctions and punishments for Judges that commit over-reach - right now there is none - that must and will change.

Blood Pressure Measuring Universal Standard ?
If like me - it starts going up in the late 60s. When I first came here as in my early 50s I was average of 125/70, now I am about 155/80 which is a little high. But the pulse rate is in the low 60s which is a good sign.

I have that Pneumonia feeling again
Common in Thailand - lots of very mouldy places because of all the rain and humidity. That black stuff all over the concrete walls here is a fungal growth. You gotta keep it out of the house - if it is in the walls it can make you sick. The best use for AC units besides the cooling - they dry out the air really well. Never use those water based coolers here (evaporative) - they are only for dry air heat like in the arid and desert countries.

I have that Pneumonia feeling again
I dont like that the Prof thinks you only need a new inhaler - do you have asthma? If it gets very serious then go to Bangkok Hospital in Khon Kaen - they are the best Hospital by a long way and the only place to go in KK if it is serious - but the most expensive. The Wife is under instruction to take me there if the proverbial hits the fan - no matter the cost. I have visited all the public and private hospitals in KK, including Ratchaphruek Hospital, and Bangkok have the best doctors and modern equipment (for tests etc.) and they are readily available in an emergency and if you need to be in a hospital. If you think things are improving and it is not urgent/serious now, then make an appointment (ring) to see a respiratory specialist at the Special Medical Centre in Srinagarind Hospital which is part of the KKU. Thai is the dominant language in KK, including the medical specialists, you have a Thai wife who can call? If not then go to Bangkok Hospital and get some treatment with Doctors that can speak English - this could be very serious.

Blood Pressure Measuring Universal Standard ?
Agree 100% - the current 'recommended' levels are all way too low. They are all compromised by massive pharma 'investments' made in the thousands of billions of dollars heart related pill taking business.

Flying home food
I have some similar advice when travelling to India. There are pills you can take before each meal to 'help' with the digestion and to deal with all the bacteria (it is everywhere there). I was there on a 2 week cricket tour and was warned - do not stop taking them until you get home - and make sure you take the next day off work etc. Apparently an Aust Cricketer had learned the hard way when he stopped taking them before the flight home. When I got home and stopped taking the pills my body starting 'cleaning house' within an hour or two - and it took half a day to clean it all out. The pills worked great and not a problem for the while trip - highly recommend them - but do not stop taking them too soon.

U.K. EV values fall off a cliff
Thais are always short-cutting electric installations and screwing things up, plus they hot-wire all sorts of stuff. If you lived here you would know that - obviously you do not. You should stick to EVs - they are what a fool believes.

Thai Airways Refutes Political Ties in Aircraft Purchase Deal
If they have not slashed their staff numbers, especially those in management positions, then in under 10 years they will again be looking at bankruptcy when they cannot create enough profits to pay the leases on the planes. Same wash and repeat as always here.

Thailand OKs Chinese Sub Engines After German Export Block
The Thainese Junta left behind a lot of 'red-backs' - this is probably the biggest one and the one most likely to bite them hard on the backside. The other big one is the Chonburi-Rayong EEC Project that basically offered cheap land and costs for Chinese businesses to come and set up shop in Thailand for their re-exports to USA. Both have cost the Thai economy a lot and are not going to deliver much benefit to Thailand (only to those that took their cut).

U.K. EV values fall off a cliff
Talk about eco-woke distortion of the truth - you choose the one that has done about 30K a year for 10 years (275Ks+). I looked for 10 year old EVs with 275Ks on the clock to compare - and guess what - there are none !! BUT I found used 2024 BYD Seals (Accord equivalent) starting at 850K Baht. AND the cheapest 2024 Honda Accord I could find is 1.5 Million - HEV. Right now - especially in Thailand, unless it is a Tesla - IMO only buy a HEV if you want electric. NOT a plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), because Thais do stupid things with electricity, and the electricity supply in Thailand is 'dubious' at best. HEV batteries can only be charged by the car itself - they are far better designed, and are much safer, and that is why they have a better resale value - because Somchai cannot plug the car into his homemade/illegal power source, or the tampered with charger at the local petrol station.

Tax Break Bonanza: Thais to Benefit from New Foreign Income Rule
Wait for the Baht to drop. The BOT is getting a new boss soon and the hope is that this will mean a lowering of interest rates, and the ceasing of the BOT buying the Baht whenever it starts to fall to keep it high. A 20-25% lower Baht will be great for exports and tourism - and Expats and the Wealthy with investments overseas. Last year I brought a chunk of money in at 24.6 Baht per AUD - now it is close to 20. For 100K AUD that means 2.45 Million Baht versus 2 Million Baht. For wealthy Thais with $million investments overseas it means a huge difference when they bring that money back into Thailand - and it is now tax free. IMO a big drop in the Baht combined with this tax 'bonanza' will lead to a huge kick-start to the Thai economy.

U.K. EV values fall off a cliff
Your logic is impeccable for the next 6-12 months. But over 5-10 years it is not. The Accord and Camry will be working fine after 10 years if looked after, and their resale value will be miles higher, and the insurance costs far far lower, and Honda and Toyota and their parts and service will still be here. The same cannot be said about EVs - yet. I think in the long run EVs could be the better option, but everything right now says they are far more of a risk and much higher costs. What makes them 'better' now is their costs of 'filing' and their driving performance. Lets talk again in 5 years - until then your new EV is 'risky'. If in 10 years your BYD is still good and the resale value is close, then you have made the better decision and well done to you. But the fact is that EV sale values are crashing worldwide - especially used - and the reasons are because of what I have listed above.

Lazada payment process
Times 2 - I dont understand why anyone pays them before receiving the goods. There are no consumer laws as such in Thailand and it is far safer to just pay COD. Besides, I would never trust a Thai company to have their website locked down and secure from hackers.

Cannot access iHerb.com
Fair enough. Maybe get to know a few local Pharmacies - helps with a Thai wife/GF - they will sell you many things you need. I only use iHerb because they sell slow-release low-dose aspirin which I have never found in a pharmacy up here.

EU civil war erupts as Italy's Giorgia Meloni explodes!
There is only one solution for any country trying to maintain its own culture when they are being invaded by people from an incompatible culture - withdraw from the UN Convention on Human Rights and Refugees. Thailand is not a member and therefore if a boat of 'incompatibles' appears the Navy sends them away and says - 'keep going to Malaysia - they will accept you'. If Italy withdraws then they are under no legal obligation to accept refugees unless they choose to do so. Continued membership of the EU is another matter - and what is being used against them to force compliance. If they do quit - I can see a new trading block in Europe developing - Italy, Poland, Hungary and UK as core members - when UK gets rid of Labour.

Cannot access iHerb.com
If they cannot get their website to work when their competitors do, then it is not my problem to solve. I read the posts - also tried Medisafe but their website is rubbish - no products or prices provided.
