  1. Pathetic - truly pathetic. Get a life mate - it will do you the world of good.
  2. Yes indeed mate - and I feel for those that have been here 20+ years and have raised a Thai family - and they still have to report evey 90 days. Not all of us can afford one of those 'special people' Visa (read - criminals). They do something like that to a good proven long-term Expat, and yet they allow criminals to buy a Visa and by-pass all the troubles we good guys have to go through.
  3. Well aint the smart one eh - but maybe your smaetness missed a few points. I used the TM28 to report my new address to the local Immigration Office very recently - so yes it still can be used. Surely you know being so smart that it is not what the rules are in Thailand, it is what the authorities say they are. Yes of course - but half of what we were paying - and it was during my first stay in Thailand way back in time. I learned from my lessons and I guess you being so smart maybe you might learned something this time?
  4. That will definitely mean Expats leaving Income taxes is one thing, but forcing us to wear ugly ankle bracelets is just not on !! If they were made of gold and diamonds - then OK - maybe.
  5. Do it yourself - if it is needed. Download TM28 which is the form for Foreigner to lodge in person at Immi Office. Download Form – สำนักงานตรวจคนเข้าเมือง – Immigration Bureau I learned my lesson about Thais 'doing things for you' many years ago. After moving into a house I asked the 'agent' for details of a gardener. She said no problemo I will organise for you - I then paid her the money. When it was decided some months later we no longer needed a gardner my wife asked her how much she was being paid - the agent was taking half of the money we paid. Thais will gladly 'help' you do anything, but it is in their culture that they will charge you for doing it. They rarely do something for others for nothing.
  6. I wonder if the Thai Govt is ever going to realise that 'punishing' all the 'good' Expats by forcing them to do all their reporting and annual extensions and house visits and TM30s/28s and all the other crap, does not actually stop the 'bad' Expats from over-staying. In fact, given the small amount of fines, it is worth avoiding all the troubles by just not doing anything. It is not as if the Immi Police actually go looking for any Expats who have not left the country inside the required timeframe.
  7. If you can, then do it yourself. Any most hardware stores here, they sell cables with one end having a plug, and the other end is open so that you can connect it to whatever device you are installing new cable.
  8. I am extremely pleased to take your award .............. I would like to thank my common sense and non-wokeness personality for allowing me to see reason and learn the facts. I know that is hard for some people who are totally under the control of their feelings and emotions, and it makes me so grateful that I am not. I thank you so much - I will treasure this award always.
  9. Yes indeed - back then there were a lot morte entertainers and/or musicians about. And then along came the 80s - Madonna - Hip Hop - Boy Bands .............. all mostly downhill since then.
  10. All Hamas has to do is release the remaining hostages, and the world will make Israel stop. But Hamas wants the war to continue for their own political reasons. Last comment I saw from Hamas about releasing the hostages, was that they would only be prepared to 'negotiate' after Israel stops and has removed its IDF from Gaza. IMO Isarael should keep going as hard and as fast as they can until they destroy as much as possible of the Hamas people and their infrastructure. All Hamas has to do is release the hostages and surrender and the fighting will stop - plus they must agree to face the UN criminal court for the atrocities they committed in Israel, and for the war crimes they have been commiting since then by holding hostages, and for hiding themselves and their terrorist military equipment behind civilians in a war zone.
  11. It has always been my experience that when any 'real estate' person or organisations is talking, they are lying and/or are talking up the business because things are slow. This and a few other recent statements, means that the real estate business is down - they are trying to push people into buying - quick, buy now, only few left. When they say nothing, it means things are good and they can just sit back and take the money.
  12. It seems to me that Thaksin was elected and is very popular, but he was ousted in a Coup by the Military and then charged with every crime under the sun. They immediately changed everything and he was eventually found guilty of IMO a few trumped up charges. In general the same thing then happened to his Sister - ousted and charged and found guilty. And the same type of people that brought down the two Thaksins, then denied Pita, as leader of the MFP, becoming the nominated PM, even though his Party received more votes than anyone else. Likewise they also trumkped up BS charges against Pita and he had to resign from the Party and leave. I am not saying there is nothing going on with Thaksin senior, or that junior Thaksin (Sister) will not come back and also be given 'special treatment', but it looks to me that they have a bit in common with Pita - and it is the same group that has done all three of them over through targetted and biased legal proceedings by people they all control and influence.
  13. Cheers mate - much appreciated.
  14. That sounds about right for Hospital costs in Thailand. Bangkok Hospital is running a massive scam becausae he is a tourist - 2700 Euros a day is over 100K Baht a day.
  15. You serious? Learn a lesson?? Your thinking is 'western style' - that does not work here.
  16. Dont waste your breath - He does not listen to woke progressives. Have you read the Bible or Koran?
  17. Good question - IMO the entertainment industry is mainly progressive wokes and they are trying 'normalisation' in a misguided attempt to 'prove' that such an alternative lifestyle is OK. The stupid thing about that, and all the associated woke rubbish, is that this sort of thing just makes more and more people dislike them. The 'deal' is live and let live - like it is in Thailand - accepted. But Thailand did not achieve this social acceptance by throwing gay TV shows and movies at everyone, and by having marches and pride months. It is total woke progressive rubbish that is finally starting to be rejected by the majority as more and more people push back. And please - they are NOT pushing back on gays - they are poushing back on all the 'activism'. The gay queens are entertaining - but for children under 16 - no thank you. Just teach them to be tolerant and not to bully them - that is all that is and ever was needed.
  18. NO. They will only confirm payment received with some basic details - not bank, account name, or number etc. Obviously. Otherwise somone could send you $1 and get all your bank details.
  19. I only ever use COD but only buy items under 500 Baht and from accredited sellers on Lazada Mall - the nuber one issue is not price - it is number of sales made and number of stars in reviews. I say this only because Lazada is SO GOOD - compared to Aust online. Anyone here thinking maybe maybe not should give them a try . Sometimes when I order something on Lazada it is deliverd that afternoon, and never more than a few days - and they deliver on Saturday and Sunday. I bought 5 things on Friday - the last 3 items were delivered today. As an EBay user in Aust I am so impressed - EBay forces payment upfront (no COD) and very slow to deliver. Not many problems, but when nothing arrives, you have to go through a long difficult process to get the money back. I have bought a lot of items COD on Lazada and never a problem.
  20. Thanks - they changed the rules - before it was 800K for the full 12 mths. I am on married extension so have not used retirement for a while. Buit good to know for the future - who knows what may happen.
  21. I agree - she provoked this deliberately - even though it is true - a young single female should not go there late at night/early morning. But the never ending 'bad news' stories about Thailand just keep coming - and trying to shut this down like China or Nth Korea is not the answer. Yes - Thailand is extremely safe in that regards, when compared to many other countries. There are places normal people will not go in their own western countries, especially at night. The same thing applies in certain parts of Bangkok and Pattaya and Patong etc. Certainly not safer on the Thai roads though
  22. Those Chinese big group tours are becomming less - more of the Chinese tourists are small groups and families and couples. Chinese tourists seek less trodden path as overseas travellers decline, become choosier post-Covid | South China Morning Post (scmp.com) Perhaps in the future the 'poorer' Ciniese tourists will start travelling in those 'bargain basement' large groups - but lets hope not.
  23. I believe this is wrong - does not the retirement extension requires 800K to be maintained for 12 months in the account? Please advise if I am wrong and provide link or docs.
  24. Yes. When there is overwhelming evidence of guilt such as in this case. IMO there are no 'mitigating circumstances' for killing people in that manner.
