Shapiro. Why? He's young. He's a governor. Insiders say Republicans fear him the most. He's a moderate but has Obama level speaking charisma. He would destroy Vance in a debate. He brings Pennsylvania likely the key to winning. He helps in midwest swing states. He appeals to independents suburban women etc. He won big in Pennsylvania so he increases chances of a total democratic landslide. The only downside people say about him is that he's a Jew. If that's a reason to reject the best choice we're screwed. Picking Shapiro is both bold and sensible. Kelly is good too but I don't see how he helps win the rust belt.

After the shooting, during the convention, before Trump's garbage Hannibel Lechter convention speech when everyone including democrats was thinking we're in for a maga fascist landslide, I was talking to a Trump sympathizer and said yeah it looks very bad but in American politics the mood can change on a dime dramatically and there is still plenty of time for that to happen (multiple times) before the election. Well we have our first such change on a dime. Predicting this election is a fool's game.

Harris is weak on foreign policy. Not that unusual for a president. You simply get a very qualified Secretary of State and related positions. Trump wants to cave to Putin and trash NATO. He knows a little bit more but his policy bias towards dictators is very bad.

For polls to mean anything after the big change, wait for a few weeks after the democratic convention. If Harris isn't solidly ahead at that point, it would mean she's in trouble. Of course national polls don't really matter but they do indicate trends. My prediction is that she will be solidly ahead at that time which would still mean a close election.

Logically explain how she can't win. Obviously you don't like her but there will be a republican vs. a democrat without a strong third party option as usual, so logically either the republican or the democrat will win.

I don't see how he can dump him now. Has that ever happened in American history after a convention before the election? I don't think so. Perhaps he can be persuaded to exit in order to spend more time with this family ... in India.
