  1. Unfortunately, Europe isn't united enough and prepared enough to save Ukraine from the ravages of fascist Putin-appeasing Trump's crass horrible betrayal. So most likely Trump will get a flimsy superficial short term "win", march like a God King hero in the Moscow May Day parade hand in hand with murderous dictator Putin, and Europe will pay much much more later for empowering Russia this way. I don't say the west. I say Europe. Because the U.S. is leaving the west now.
  2. I'm not entirely clear what you're trying to say. Are you saying it's not "fair" for Americans on S.S. to get a better bang for the buck by retiring in lower cost countries or are you just talking about a basic math issue with benefits for all SS recipients? On the expat issue many retired expats can't afford to live decently at all on low SS checks in the US so moving abroad can ba a survival tactic. You would deny them that? Also the government actually saves much more when retirees leave because you can't use Medicare abroad. In my case I pay about two thousand dollars annually for Part B which I can't use as well. On the simple math point, well, that's the design of the SS system, the old age part anyway. If you don't live long enough to ever claim or you delay your claim once eligible hoping to get a higher benefit later and die before you ever claim, like an insurance situation, it doesn't cost SS a penny. If you live average, you probably get a "fair" deal relative to what you paid in. If you live "extra" years, you "win" by getting a bigger payout. There are ethical questions with this. For example some minority groups have a much lower life expectancy so as a class they're getting a raw deal. But other than that, I really fail to understand your complaint that some people live too long and supposedly get too much.
  3. What's going on now with the "peace" negotiations highlights what's going to happen with NATO in general. If Putin invades a Baltic country, will Trump respect Article 5? If Putin invades a friendly to Putin state like Hungary and Hungary accepts it, what would NATO do if the invaded government doesn't care?' Is it only a matter of time until Trump pulls the U.S. out of NATO entirely?
  4. See bus. See Trump. See Trump throw Ukraine under. Utterly disgusting! What a vile LIAR. For example he claimed that Zelinsky has a 4 percent approval rating. That actual number is 52 percent. Why it matters? Putin (who is a full on dicatator with fake elections) is teaming up with America's new God King authoritarian oligarchy to force Ukraine to have an election as a condition to cease fire. What's wrong witht that? Duh. Russia will exploit the situation to try to rig the elections towards a Putin puppet as it has done successfully multiple times elsewhere. Putin doesn't need to actually occupy all of Ukraine. Having a Putin puppet regime there making Ukraine a slave state of Moscow also serves it purposes. How about forcing Russia to have an ACTUAL election?
  5. He's another clown repeating Kremlin talking points.
  6. Bannon is right about this but I feel like I need a shower agreeing with him. But it happens. I agree with Trump that the penny should go.
  7. You would have made a great Stasi operative.
  8. I can tell you she wouldn't have picked a stupid unqualified white nationalist alcoholic sexual abusing D list Fox News stuffed shirt for her secretary of defense.
  9. You need to be hopelessly naive to think Musk or Trump cares about regular American people. Why seeking cuts? Mainly to fund tax cuts for billionaires and even fatter contracts for Musk's projects.
  10. Anyone that goes to Twitter believing they're getting factual information there is beyond the pale by definition.
  11. I've heard that the quote was actually from a MOVIE about Napoleon and that he never said it. But the idea is the same. Trump is ruling as a God King.
  12. Yep. It's already started and dramatically among Gen Z. Too bad they weren't paying attention BEFORE the election. Now it's too late. Massive damage has already been done. Some it will be irreversible. Donald Trump's Gen Z Popularity Plunges - Newsweek
  13. Not very comforting. Musk and his big balls boy have all your data now. Nobody is checking them. What could possibly go wrong?
  14. He's ruling as a God King. He's staged a self adminstrative coup with Musk and the Project 2025 fascists doing most of the work. American democracy is over. It's now a post constitutional oligarchy. It happened much quicker than most people imagined is possible, but it has happened. Is it too late for Americans to reclaim their democracy? There is no way of knowing yet but it's clear to me it would take massive national street actions at a minimum.
  15. It will be irrelevant. Vance and his puppet master Theil believe we live in a post constitutional age anyway.
  16. It's the maga double standard and they are totally blind to it. Pathetic really.
  17. My theory is that Trump wants to be in Putin's May Day parade in Moscow. Trump lives for that kind of stuff. If he goes, I hope he stays there.
  18. That was later adjusted to 100 days. Since then adjusted to six months. More like six years maybe at this point.
  19. My current thinking is that like all empires the American empire is in inevitable decline now under any leader. But Trump is rapidly accelerating that. This will cause a lot of unnecessary suffering for both Americans and many global people as well. Perhaps a death wish?
  20. You're wrong. That would have left the democrats in an even worse divided position. The fault was with Biden for running at all.
  21. So what if she was? It's not as if she's the Secretary of Defense?
  22. Impossible to cover all the horrible things he's said and done.
  23. SNL50 Years! I can't believe I've been watching any show for 50 Years! Available on youtube.
