  1. Not really, Transgender is a transformation, hence the term. Gay people (I use 'gay' as a general category here) have an affinity for same sex relationships. As far as I am aware there is no definitive asnwer as to why this happens, plenty of hypotheses sure, But then again, we can;t define many things that are related to the physical-mental states and their attractions. And not all gay people want to change.
  2. Sounds a bit like Halloween has come early this year.
  3. Well Pres. Biden thought it was a big enough deal '...we got your back.'
  4. Must say I haven't heard that one before (in Thailand, that is) Overdoing it a bit?
  5. I mean no disresepect but sad events like this always makes me think of the 'One night in Bangkok' song. Like it or not that's the city's reputation. My condolenses to the family.
  6. Just been looking at some news and the FAA said that the military do fly in the said region (and have been doing so for years) training for emergency situations. We'll have to wait for the BB analysis to find out what was going on.
  7. Certainly according to various outlets the airport seems to be one of the busiest. Just before the collision, one aircraft coming in to land while there is another taking off so the control tower and pilots seem expert enough. My questions would be; how often to military helicopters fly that route? If none, then what was that one doing there in the first place and what was the military helicopter port control instructions?
  8. I would have thought that the first thing to do is get advice from the authorities in the UK (UK/Thai) and then proceed from there. And any case, on arriving in Thailand seek advice and from Lawyer/Police before confronting anyone. I thought it was only James Bond and Jason Bourne that could 'go it alone'?
  9. Quite right. I use MS Excel to list monthly income according to bank book. Total and print out for the year. Take both to the office where they check the printed list against the bb and they keep the printed list.
  10. It is sometimes difficult. One FE'r I know is not religious but follows a FE idea while others do seem to quote the bible often. Yes it is true that many FE'r do deny science based ideas claimimg that all scientists and governments are hiding the FE...to what end I don't know. FE'r seem to forget that there are scientists that are religious just as Einstein was.
  11. If you do wish to get a TIN print copies of the DTA list from the revenue website, assuming that your home country is on the DTA. Ask the info desk to let you speak to a tax familiar with DTA etc. then ask for anassessment. Behave politly and I am sure they will do also.
  12. I stand corrected. I think this was also on Integrity Legal video
  13. Well, according to others on the net, that would take a lot of time to set up and up to now immigration have been silent on the isuue. Although immigration wants proof of 800K/400K for retired expats in one account they aren't interested on income. Expats working here are already paying tax. So the logical placed for income to flagged up is the account that receives it which is on a monthly basis rather tha yearly at immigration. Since the 161/2566 tax amendment is intended for Thais transfers also immigration can't be involved there
  14. If, and I do 'if', there is to be any enforcement imo I don't think immigration will be involved. AS my bank automatically pays tax on the Interest there is obviously a route already in place...but maybe I'm wrong 'cos TIT.
  15. Yes, you are right. Apparently the parachute deployed to early after take off. Another article wrote '...when the parachutes on his homemade steam rocket failed to deploy...' I haven't seen a video (if there is one) so I don't which id correct.
  16. Many animals are 'spooked' by fireworks, particularly those rockets that end with a loud bang. Why didn't thay at least wait until the fireworks have finished then bring the elephant orperhaps escort the elephant away from the area before the fireworks? Close to where I live the temple often use such rockets and the other night I thought WWIII had started.
  17. I am not a FE'r. Your picture doesn't represent quite how FE'rs think. In their opinion the Sun is much closer than what everyone else knows and is therefore smaller. In their view the Sun's EM waves are not affected by the atmosphere under their 'dome' and only spread out so far such that only a portion of their FE receives light. The other portion is in darkness. Of course this has been debunked many times but hey, they believe that every government, every space agency, very scientist are all for keeping us under control, telling us that the Earth is not flat. After some Flat Earth people witnessed the 24 hour Sun in Antarctica (and that there is a 24 hour Moon too) the FErs are now claiming this and that, arguing with each other. One of them who wittnessed the 24 hour Sun has now left the FE community because he accepts that it is simply wrong. He is now getting a lot of flak from former FE associates because he accepts the evidence.
  18. As long as they don't mix up their phone numbers with atomic numbers, should be ok.
  19. Good comment. I might add that the last thing the authorities want is a bunch of 'flat Earthers' going there and making mess.
  20. While I amit that this guy is doing wrong to say '...sparked a social media firestorm after blatantly disregarding Thai law ' I'd like a Baht for everytime I seen a Thai road use disregard Thai traffic law. Who writes these headlines? AI I suppose.
  21. Where I am 8๐C at 04:30 this morning and the forecast for tomorrow for 5 a.m. is 10๐C. Quite a breeze too which made it feel lower still. Brrrrr
  22. I think there is a bit of a difference between international news, whether it's politics,or general world news, than individual forum memebers posting political views/opinions/rant etc. Imo opinion such posts should be on the political section where forum members can visit if they are intersted. I generally read political news elsewhere such that I can find Left and Right reporting on a particular topic. However, I wou;d stop short of suggexting a ban on individual political rants because once on that road other topics might suffer similarly. One point that I think is important is that when reading the list of AN topics to choose from it might help if individual political rants might flagged so that they could be avoided when one isn't interested.
  23. Oh, not that old one about a Donkey and a Kangaroo?
  24. Ah, yes . If an expat is working in Thailand. I was really thinking of retired expats.
