  1. HI all.

Something is definitely afoot, It is said by some Thai people in Khonkaen that the Yingluck supporters on her tour of the flood area's are a paid red mob and that no local people can get anywhere near to ask an awkward question.

Also the community website Khonkaen Link has closed its political pages due probably to the many

negative comments about Yingluck and the Pheu Thai government.

It is as if the Reds and the government are daring the the Army to come out, they are saying, Stop us if you dare, it woud suit the Red cause to orchestrate some dead Reds same as in BKK.

They have seen world opinion turn again'st the soldiers in Syria , to many dead.and they want the same to happen here, yay for Red Democracy.

    phupaman

Although I do not doubt your word for 1 second, but if if what the Thai's have been saying ,that Yinluck was unapproachable owing to a bevy "red guards" why have the News media not picked up on it? .
  2. History repeats itself.

We have seen such thing happen again and again all over the world, and this won't be the last.

The up-raising of the common people.

To struggle for a more open and free democratic society.

Last happen in USSR, Romania, Yogoslavia, East Timore, Tibet, Egypt, Iraq, etc

We congratulate then if the up-raising is a success.

We condem then if the up-raising fails.

Do you really believe that last time Thaksin was PM that there was freedom and democracy?, part of that so called democracy is freedom of speech and a Sound justice system I may add.
  3. "Cultural issues are of lesser importance where confidentiality and anonymity can be guaranteed."

Apart from the typical western, colonial power style attitude of the author, being fascinated of Western cultur and management, which, and history proved it, will not work in other societies, the above comment will, sooner or later, lead societies back into dictatorship and STASI controlled environments.

I'm going to work on the assumption that you are an intelligent and rational person whose words I simply don't understand, perhaps because of blindness to my own cultural/intellectual paradigms.

Could you go into a bit more detail to help me understand your point of view?

My understanding is that people at the grass-roots level could perform a valuable service in helping Thailand move toward greater transparency and rule of law, by feeling free to report wrong-doings they observe, even if done by their "superiors".

Do you think these goals (transparency and rule of law) are good ones?

Do you think common people should be empowered to take responsibility for improving society when they see corruption among their leaders?

Or are these the things you are comparing to totalitarianism and secret police?

Also, I think Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan have adapted Western political and management principles and methods to their local culture patterns with some degree of success; would you agree?

The counter-example may well be mainland China, is that an example you'd like to see Thailand emulate instead?

Excellent post BJclap2.gif , but I very much doubt you will receive a credible answer .
  4. lead societies back into dictatorship and STASI controlled environments.

You really need to have a cup of coffee in the morning ... or stop at 7 expresso's, give or take

Colonial power Style attitude? Stasi Controlled environments?, dictatorships ! what next I ask myself?coffee1.gif

Well, jackbooted, goosestepping Nazis, of course.

By the beard of Karl Marx ,you may have something there ya know !violin.gif

  6. (...snip...)

Contrary to media reports that Morabi used two hand grenades while on the run, police sources said he used two radio bomb units, out of a stock of five. One went off in the first accidental explosion in the rented house, two were used by him and two others were found in the house.

The radio bombs went off five seconds after their grenades were activated. They had a blast radius of about 40 metres and kill radius of about 3-5 metres, the sources added.

    (...snip...)

If not terrorism, what were the radio bombs intended for? Party favors?

If and when the dust settles and if and when they are brought to court, I wonder as to just what they are charged with?
  7. I've harped on this before but it bears repetition; while I have seen dozens of announcements of arrests of Iranian and other drug smugglers, I have never seen publicized the results of any of their trials. If the threat of long term incarceration is part of a deterrent, then you would think that showing the trial results would be an essential element.

It really makes me wonder if they are somehow protected by "persons of influence" and quietly shipped back to Iran.

Yeah Dave ,others must thinking along those lines too, after all money buys everything here in Thailand don't it!.

  8. In these cases, both the Israeli murders of the scientists and the Iranian attempts on Israeli diplomats I think the kerfuffle of whether these kinds of targeted acts are terrorism or not is overblown. If Israeli and Iran were ALREADY fully at war, wouldn't both just be seen as acts of war? Are they already at war? I think, kind of, sort of, they already are.

To be quite candid any one who believes that the Islamic world has not been on a "war footing" with Israel for decades just has to be seriously "mentally challenged"violin.gif
  9. It's all about the tourist dollar and has nothing to do with public safety. Do what ever you can to pull the wool of the international communities eyes. Get the department of lies into action. The only problem is that, I believe that the world has lost confidence in what any Thai official says. They think that the world community are a bunch of uneducated moron rice farmers who will continually suck up every single lie they tell. We have seen the lies and coverups flowing thick and fast since the lebonese guy was arrested.

I think your post Chooka just about says it all ,so I will not add anything other than agreeing with every word in your post.
  10. Wonder how much training the driver had to have to be in charge of such vehicle.

Almost any one can "move" a vehicle, however this in no way constitutes " safe driving procedures" and being aware that there are other road users on the road not just you alone ,of which the "normal" Thai Driver is blissfully Ignorant ,hence the insane manouvres we observe when turning right into a side road were the last 50 metres or so are almost always driven /*ridden into the face of on coming traffic!!!
  11. So so sad. Sick of seeing these incidents at least every other week popping up, or at least the ones you hear about.

One day maybe something will give one day and stricter road rules and enforcement will help.

    Speedy recovery and RIP

Bit difficult here in Thailand as the BIB's whose job it is to enforce the laws already on the statute book as far as just what constitutes safe driving procedures, neither have the will or the knowledge to enforce them , and that my friend is the simple unadulterated truth of the scandal /Carnage which is seen day in day out on Thailand's roads.
  12. RT @RichardBarrow: Thai DPM Chalerm: Yesterday's triple blast not terrorist, just a minor symbolic act /via @Juarawee #FacePalm

And the C4 plastic-explosive found in their house had been planted there, as an sign of international-friendship ? dry.png

And Foreign-Minister Surapong thinks it's normal to throw grenades at passers-by, or at a Thai police-car, "no evidence linking this incident to terrorism" because the grenades exploded, thus removing that part of the evidence, perhaps ?

They might do better to await the arrival of the 'official version of events', from Dubai. cool.png

Nice one Ricardo, you,re my mancowboy.gif ,but try and not write the simple facts of the matter too much ,as it may cause embarrassment for some members who see it a USA /Israeli plot to start WW3coffee1.gif
  13. Unbelievable how everybody is drinking the cool-aid, and asking for seconds! Is everybody here really that stupid and ignorant to still buy into all the war propaganda spilled by the US and Israel?

No one here seems to stop and think how unlikely and totally unrealistic it is for Iran to be carrying so called "terrorist" attacks at this particular time? They have half the US naval fleet hanging around in their backyard praying the gods for a reason to drop their bombs on yet another country, and Iran would start carrying out amateur-style bombings around the globe? Exactly at a time the warlords have a very hard time getting international support for attacking Iran? Isn't it obvious that the US and Israel have been provoking Iran into war for years now? Both of whom are on record (on record for crying out loud) carrying out false flag attacks to gain support for their war-games?

Wasn't it only several hours after this "terror" attack, that Barak made statements about how the Thai police confirmed the fact that an Iranian national supported by the Iranian government carried out this terrorist attack, and how the Iranian regime is the devil, blah blah blah. Since when has the Thai police been able to come up with anything valuable before? If there is one police force on this globe not capable of coming up with such findings in such a timeframe, it would be the Thai police.

And we're not even getting into the fact that Thailand is run, by proxy, by a Council on Foreign Relations puppet who have received millions of $ from the National Endowment for Democracy (the same Washington organization working on funding "revolutions" around the globe to overthrow governments) and how is now deeply in Washington's pocket.

Stop buying into all the crap people and start looking at the big picture here....

OK, it's all hype and propaganda. Now please explain to me what YOU think 3 recently arrived Iranians were doing making bombs in BKK, where they sourced the materials in short order, and why one has suddenly decided to blow up his house and start throwing bombs/grenades. I admit it's a nice change from smuggling drugs, but not the action of your normal tourist, Iranian or otherwise.

Perhaps you should STOP looking at the big picture and see this tree in the woods.

Barak may well have made an unsubstantiated statement, but so far it is the most logical explanation. I await yours with anticipation of a good laugh.

,To all right thinking people you will receive no logical explanation, not one that makes any sense that is, the simple truth is that those who's politics are "of the left" hate America and Israel to a high degree and seek to blame them for anything which will remotely call their respective Country's into question ,which so much like yourselves I find laughable.

  14. The reaction by the Thai government to this ordeal just seems surreal to me. Is this really happening? Are they really saying this is just a normal crime? That the Iranians were arguing with each other and then started blowing things up? I'm so confused by their statements and I've no doubt that the Thai population that is hearing all this on the news is equally confused.

I just hope that all this confusion they are creating doesn't give more terrorists another opportunity to cause more causalities to innocent people of all races.

No one is blaming the Thias for this but I wish they would stop playing dumb and start acting more responsibly.

The Normal Thai person in the street will simply swallow all the bovine excreta thrown at that them by the "powers to be" ,this is just a normal every day crime and in no way should any future travelers to the kingdom be alarmed .

alot of Thais arnt even aware what has happen !, i just spoke to a friend whom mentioned the thai news stating a crime was committed by some forigner !, amazing !

Did you really expect anything else?, money rules here, and anything which may hinder it from rolling in by the tourist baht is to a certain degree"suppressed"
  15. Unbelievable Thailand.

How long until they start commenting on everything is under control, and worrying about tourism numbers?

It will all be played down, the Thai "intelligence" agencies have the job in hand ,and the TAT will be saying its no big deal and this sort of thing is an everyday occurrence in other Country's, and in no way should it deter tourists from coming to LOS to spend their hard earned dough.
