I am still pissed off at the photo.seriously a lot of you blokes that are posting here really need to have a long hard look at yourselves, The complete insensitivity and lack of empathy displayed by many symbolises a complete disconnect with the real world. I doubt many of you have any tangible real world relationships with family or friends. Oswald was a much loved man and you are tarnishing his reputation. I suggest you set up your own thread somewhere and compare how empty your lives are.
Hey, all of us are sorry about Oswald. I'm sure he was a lovely bloke.
Don't be offended, though, if the discussion moves beyond memorializing and into an examination of violence in Thailand in general. This is, after all, a discussion board.

adapting to not drinking in LOS is a steep hill to climb. Well, for me.

Think you've cracked it in one. First class post.people say thai people have no intelect, the landing system for vehicles off to mars were all but given up on until a thai desighned one.
We're not talking about 'intellect' aka being smart, but 'intellectualism' which is the pursuit of knowledge of one's self, particularly about the human condition in fields such as psycology, philosophy, antropology, political science, history, art and the like.
Being highly knowledgable in one area is just an expression of dedication and probably some intelligence. However, the need and want to pursue knowledge of ourselves is what separates an intellectual from say a highly trained (brain work) professional.
And we're also not talking about knowledge snobs as I call them, who think knowledge without purpose/frame is worth anything.
I'd say the hallmark of an intellectual is curiosity, almost a childlike curiosity of the world. An intellectual simply can't stop being curious about how things and people work.

@maxme.
I am no better than anyone on a chat forum. Face to face perhaps, perhaps not.

10,000 bht, no problem.Off the charts? Stats, please, out of the over 10 million who come here every year?
Maybe the stats for those who married/shacked up with bargirls would be better.
I would say that the stats for expats murdered by bargirl wives and girlfriends would be reasonably higher than those expats married to decent educated thai women. A huge difference I would think.
Would indeed be an interesting stats...... How many bar girls can afford a hitman?????

Thanks for clearing that up.
Am l right you cannot get the 100,000 with a truck ?It has to have 4- doors and be under a mill, yes?
No, it can be a smart cab.
Full list here for the pickups: https://firstcar.exc...up_19092555.pdf
And here for the cars: https://firstcar.exc...ar_06092555.pdf
The amount of rebate is included in the last column.
No, you're wrong. For a 4-door pickup truck the rebate can be 100.000 Baht.
Does it only apply to an Isuzu thanking them for buying one ?
-
Seems perhaps jealousy caused his demise.
............RIP...........
Posting a photo of his extinct body is a travesty.
-
An Isuzu eh, hmmmmmmmm, thats why the money back.

Most of us read near all posts on a subject we are interested ini will say this much, I came here with good intentions months ago, posted a story about my good times in thailand with my wife and children.
very positive story, it was shredded in every way, she was called everything from a bar girl to god knows what, i was called many things also.
decent story about a decent girl ripped apart for no reason, by not same posters, but the majority,
you showed me from the get go you want negativity and thrive off it, so im giving you what you want, negative stories.
people say nothing to a person who make rude jokes about woman, or jokes about someone who may well be dead on hear, but attack when you write a pleasant story.
you get what you asked for, same here are fine off coarse, but the old story goes if you dont like something, dont read it if its boring.
You can post negativity if that's your bag, but try and vary the subject. Complain about the weather, bad drivers, corruption etc. All you do is complain about naive falangs who get ripped off by Thai bar girls, or old falangs who think money buys them love. Your obsession with the subject makes one wonder if it hasn't happened to you and you've never got over it.
I'm curious to why you feel offended by this as you don't have to read his posts.
.
Some here are negative all the time, which some of us note. A guy/gal who is negative all the time to me says the guy/gal has a problem, don't mean in the head, but with his own life.

My friend has a village shop, pays ma and pa to sit there when he and she are not around. When the extended family know there not around they help them selves to the whiskey with nooooo probs from the ''staff''.

Think you must look at yourself.ok iwill get on topic, so pigeonjake, you yourself have never judged anyone is that right, not ever.
thats the topic yes, about judgmental people.
I see judgment in several parts of the thread alone.
As folk have said, on a few topics you may have a problem, please look at yourself.

I would like to have a one to one with your girlfriend for her side of the story. I would also tell her politely that if she puts on a pound or two you will dump her.The funniest thing about this topic is not the original post, but that there were 4 and a half pages of posts before OP made his second post.
Ironically, all of you guys calling him a troll have resulted in "successful troll is successful". Guess you all secretly loved the post.
Congrats on your happiness; I like the positive energy! Ignore the haters
I
THanks brother, this topic is actually POSITIVE, someone else tried to pull me off topic and take things out of context i said in another forum post standing up for the enslaved workers at Lotus. I really should get my GF a wash board. Maybe a washing machine someday,, but whats wrong with saving energy water and money and helping nature? See the positive of this,
It also makes my gf nice and toned. I'm thankful she's not a fat whale like many others I've seen in this region!

WoW,Packed up and sold up 7 years ago, and moved to Chiang Mai, having never stepped foot in Asia. Until last month, i had never left Asia in all that time.
My friends are all ages and nationalities.
Ive had conversations with Thai women, that i think men never hear (Thai or farang).
I used to be in a relationship with a Thai man (who had kids, and looked after them VERY well). Nothing bad to say about him, it just wasnt right for me in the end.
I dont have rose-tinted glasses on. There is much i love, and much i dont.
I dont watch golf
Edit: might be 6 years, not 7. I forget.
Ive have lived in other countries and continents tho, so the concept of starting out again somewhere new, with language and culture barriers, didnt concern me.
i know some amazing thai men, although most here if not all will tell you they are all cheating wife beaters, not so.
my wifes sisters man is fantastic toher and has been for years
I feel a medal coming on.

Put a plant pot each side of your gate. Job done.
We have a topic somewhere here on the plant pot mafia.

You are correct. Thats why the 6 months thing. Condensation (water) in the engine.I thought the main problem with low milage vehicles is condensation in the oil which rarely get hot so that is why it should be changed at 6 months.
-
Eh.well lads, there goes the truly brilliant but completely erroneous Russian mafia theory.
Its a crying shame, you guys are usually spot on.
I guess there is always the completely unrelated ethnic Chinese/hi-so Thai debate to keep you occupied though.
And if that fails, remember -- all Thais are evil whether they are light or dark-skinned.

Thought so, but we could we wrong eh.

According to that link you are right. Looks like the highest rebate is 20,000 baht.

Of course. Will get the accountant on it pronto. We are out there. All of you, just ask. This is LOS, not farangland.
Will you clean my car, cut the grass and take the dog for a walk, please?

In your case as you say, synthetic would be a waste of cash. My truck doesn't get much use so from new after run in l used synthetic a few times to get the metal ''impregnated'' with the stuff then changed to semi to keep up the protection. These are MY thoughts on stuff, folk might disagree. With transmission/power steering oil/fluid the colour of it is a tell tale of a problem or needs changing, with engine oil it's a bit different. When you change the oil it will probably ''look'' dirty after a few Km.
Reason being not all the oil is drained as stuff remains in pockets internally, also oil that grips/sticks to metal surfaces will not drain, so this old oil mixes with the new and discolours it. Only way to get ''near'' clean internals is to use a flushing oil first.
Where possible drain old oil hot, when it is at it's thinest.
Forgot before, it is advisable to change oil after 6 months regardless of mileage..
Yes, that's always what confuses me and I think that's what the OP is getting at. I only drive around 10,000km per year, yet when I pay for synthetic oil, Honda always recommend that it's good for 10,000km or 6 months, whichever comes first. It seems like a waste changing when I've only driven 5,000km - is it really necessary? As the OP is asking, would it better to choose the oil that will last for the distance you plan to drive in 6 months? 4 liters of mineral oil costs between 1/4 and 1/3 of the price of 4 liters of synthetic.
That was not my original point, but it is a good one. No one that drives less then 5,000 km in 6 months should be using synthetic motor oil. It's just a waste. My question was about the "grades" of mineral motor oil and is there really any difference among them. But, since I drive about 5,000 km every 6 months, I would never go to the 7,000 grade of oil (assuming it is designed to last longer than the 5,000 km grade), because I would be changing my motor oil at 5,000 km in any event when the 6 month period after the last oil change has expired.
Many low stressed (rpm) engines don't need or gain from synthetic, but which ones
.
Soooooo, l stay on the safe side. Shell Helix do a basic mineral oil for turbo diesels to do the job for 5000km or the six months.

Didn't think the rebate could be had with any truck.was at isuzu yesterday. They said a15000baht price increase before years end.....Maybe this was to make me make a quick decision.
Do they make anything to replace the x series?...
The Gov rebate will have finished by then, so they can up their price after that.
Currently they are keeping the price on the ISUZU X under the million TB999,000. So as people can get TB100,000 back in 12 Mts, if they purchase in their wife name. Government Rebate not available for Foreigners.

Farangs are not Thai and never will be, so farangs with bits blown off should not be shown on this mainly farang forum. Anybody here want his butchered body shown on the Net ???.
Cos some of ''US'' will be, for our families to see. Sadly.
