  1. Guys who spend less time choosing a wife than they do a house shouldn't be surprised when they lose both. These guys who marry someone who was only a holiday romance have no reason to complain.

I spent five years with my ex before getting married and paid a heavy price further down the line. laugh.png
  2. I have one and find the power more than adequate. It is no racing car but I find it has plenty of power for all driving and adequate for overtaking on the highway.

The torque curve is very flat (probably because it is limited to suit the gearbox) so you have near enough to maximum torque anywhere from 1,500 rpm to 3,500 rpm so you always have some shove to call on.

There are plenty of guys out there that have chipped the engine for more power but I don't find it necessary.

The OP is only trolling he has no interest's in anything other than a cruse. Look at all his other post's.

Perhaps not huh.png , Perhaps he now thinks the best car on the plant, his Thaicuze, is not what he professed eh. laugh.png
  3. If you don't think it's in a derogatory way, then.... you are closing your eyes to Thai culture. But that's what we adjust to, right? After living in Thailand, I never got this silly Western "Thai people SO smiley SO SWEET" thing. You can't spend any significant amount of time there without seeing exactly what's going on. You are a big ape to them. Ask them about Laos people & extrapolate. But really, it's especially funny coming from men who are fixated on teeny Thai women.

    Eh sad.png , what a load of tosh. cheesy.gif .

I had to read that three times. Mind you l am better at swinging through trees than reading. smile.png

  4. Iomatopo

Each time I was upgraded at check in not when on board.

I was curious about the earlier poster who slips 2000 baht into his passport as an incentive to get upgraded when checking in. Does this really work?

Ther is no way this could happen.

    1) There are CTV cameras that would pick this up.

    2) The staff would not risk their hard earned jobs and the integrity of the airlines would be brought into question...no way IMHO

    marshbags wink.png

Agreed. The poster who made the claim that you can get an upgrade by sticking a couple of thousand baht in their passport is living in fantasy land - either seen too many movies or still thinks that local time is 1950...

.....I would challenge them to prove otherwise...

Think he was a bit confused with a speeding ticket in LOS. smile.png

  5. I had a similar experience in Cambodia. My girl bought some of those garish 'pyjamas' that Khmer women are fond of and wore them to the beach in Snooky. She's a bit short, even by Thai standards (4' 9" on a good day) and was mistaken for a child by the majority of middle-aged westerners (mostly the women) at nearly every establishment.

The looks of disgust I got from them were memorable. Pure ignorance on a stick.

My girl clocked what was happening and played up to them, demanding an ice-cream and calling me 'papa'. The onlookers were apoplectic!

    Great fun winding-up the narrow-minded.biggrin.png

Ignorant and narrowminded doesn't really sound appropriate.

Given that she looked like (and was the size) of an underage child in pyjamas in a notorious center of Child sex tourism in a country that's known as a hub of Child sex tourism.

Glad we have you on board to keep an eye on things eh. rolleyes.gif .............coffee1.gif
  6. Sad stories but many people who stay home ALSO die sad and lonely deaths. I wouldn't really blame it on Pattaya. It's the human condition.

    Absolutely correct.

When farangland life turns upside down we clutch at straws. l did. Many come to LOS for a last ditch look for something. For many, they don't find it, and we know the/their consequences.

I take my hat off to these guys as l am/was one of them. thumbsup.gif RIP, you did your best.

  7. The Blether posts many threads and has built up his reputation as a good guy. This makes it easier for such a poster to drop in the odd troll post.

    Just sayin.

Anyway if this girl is a lesbian then she will have zero physical attraction to this guy. Or are we back to talking about Thailand can make you bisexual?. Would any straight man or woman spend the rest of their lives with a person of the same sex?

    Seems ridiculous.

I,ve suspected for some time now that T.B. isn,t all he appears to be. whistling.gif

I reckon he is a ghost writer / ghost poster and both him and his sidekick ( aka mate ) he often refers to and V.Versa are inverted trolls. ( non disruptive contributors )

" Nom de guerres " for want of a better description who in turn are provided with input from several other nameless contributors. ermm.gif

    P.S.

As an intended non abusive post and a simple personal observation, I hope it is not deemed incorrectly as an offensively intended offering, it is not.

    Your first observation is correct.

Everything else is wrong. I am not a ghost writer, I am not an inverted troll, and I do not have a college of assistants.

I do receive dozens of pm's and emails every day from members, I do have many ' virtual ' friends on TV, I do have many friends that I have met in person, and I do have friends on TV that I've known for years outwith the internet.

I'm for real, and there are many highly regarded members that can confirm that........though I will ask them not to bother as we don't need a ' support theblether ' campaign.

It's getting to "Jumping the shark" time for me on TV.

I've got two companies to run at the busiest time of year for both. I'll take a 90 day holiday from posting, I'll be back in December to arrange the New Years Eve party in Chiang Mai.

I'm not quitting, I'm temporarily retiring. Any questions pm me, send facebook requests to me via pm, and email requests too........and trust me.

    I'll be back!!!

    See you soon.

    Take care chum. thumbsup.gif

  8. Can you imagine what would happen if an armed police officer did that in UK or Europe? I suspect pulling a gun on someone then waving it at a crowd of people would get you a jail sentence.

Your right. Even an unloaded fire arm at police training sessions must always face the floor. Bothers me a bit at UK airports that the armed police weapons are not aimed downwards when on patrol. Sorry, offtopic2.gif
  9. Post count is an irrelevance.

Thus spake Thaivisa's most Prolific Poster

One of the most popular TV shows in the 1960s was STAR TREK.

The mission of the USS Enterprise was "to boldly go where no man has gone before". Split infinitives ruled the day!

William Shatner played the part of Captain Kirk.

Years later, William Shatner attended a convention for Star Trek fans. He was appalled to see people dressed as Klingons and speaking a kind of Klingon language.

These people were his fans. He spoke to them. He said:

    GET A LIFE

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why do I find it so easy to picture you as a little schoolby wearing short trousers?

Perhaps because you have a vivid and creative imagination.

  10. I am one of the minority that dislike being called 'farang'.

Back in the UK, it would not have crossed my mind (or any of my friends) to refer to someone as 'that foreigner/black/Asian' etc. etc. as it is rude.

Having said this, I've never been called farang to my face - those that don't know my name have always said Madam, but I dislike hearing it quietly in the background when they're obviously referring to me.

Think your wrong. Never heard a Thai say Madam, they don't know the word. sad.png

Perhaps it was a similar Thai word huh.png .................................smile.png

Your wrong I'm afraid. Any Thai maid working for foreigners will always refer to her employer as her "Madam", even when talking to other Thai's. Apart from that you often hear the word in the more up market hotels.

Men are farangs and women are Marangs cheesy.gif , very similar but more tasty. giggle.gif

  12. An Assumption University poll conducted Sept 1-6, found the number of Thais not objecting to corruption if it was with their partial advantages increased from 63.4 per cent in June to 65.8 per cent in August

The same university would never take money from somebody to study there. Am I assuming the Assumption? w00t.gif

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, Yes, no yes no, oh l give up cos l have dealt with it all. sad.png .
