Yes it can, but none of these well paid MP's do not seem to see the injustice. Didn't a UK hi-so come over to LOS recently to shake hands with Thai hi-so's, now he knows full well us living here have been stuffed by pension law's. 🥴 Did he tell the Thai's.... "Oh, we don't pay upgraded pensions to our old retired folk here, they have to deal with it, they are on their own, but we do take care of your Thai folk who come to the UK, we are generous to all you foreigners"......🧐

Some on here say DWP cannot stop pension payments. If they don't receive a Life-Cert within the 16 weeks, it is stopped, you have to get in touch with them to sort it out. If there is a question mark, I have no doubt they will stop the payment till you sort it out.......🤒 Imagine on a pension fiddle, you're living in LOS, but at the address back home the fraud department knocked on the door for a chat with you........😲 "Oh, eeeer, he's on holiday", "Where", "eeeer, Thailand", "Yes, we thought he was, on a very long holiday"...........🤣

I agree, but as the benefit status has not been altered, that's how it's going to stay..😢

I did watch a YouTube vid on it, sorry, no link. But the lady explained what could happen regarding pension fraud. I think it was implied that DWP at this stage could "apply" to look at someone's bank account if they thought they were on the fiddle, to see where their money went....

In the UK we all must pay National Insurance of some sort, that is where pensions come from. Think I paid about 2 quid a week NI as class 2 self-employed, I get a full pension +. Investing 2 quid would end up, not a lot....😁

Why is that.........? Some of us are not hi-so, and would probably be worse off if back in the UK. Just look at the X's and cost of fish & chips.....😱

They have the money for pensions, just like they have the money to fight wars, build nuclear submarines, pay aid to many foreign countries. If expats all moved to another country that had a reciprocal agreement, we would ALL get a full pension....

They have an agreement with the UK, that is what it is all about. They are saying you cannot go to a country that hasn't got this agreement and get rises. Which beggars the question for many, including me, "Why"....

My aunt was married to an American, he worked for Hertz, I think, they worked all over the place. Then he landed a position in the UK, paid his taxes in the UK as well as UK NI for a number of years. He retired, they moved back to the USA. To his surprise he had enough NI payments to get a % of the state pension, and he got the upgrades too, until he died.....

Perhaps they had no instruction then, remember the "dots"........😂

I know a couple that went back for life-saving stuff, no problem........🤗 But that doesn't mean it is no problem. Just imagine the boat people turning up at a hozzy, I doubt they are told to bugger-off.......🤭
