  1. So CCTV cameras do work and can help solve/prevent crime. Think how much safer the roads would be if all red light runners/speedsters were caught on camera AND PROSECUTED!
  2. Despite the quotation marks, this does NOT sound like the words of a local harvester!
  3. But this is Thailand and baht over-rides training or ethics. I have had two road collisions dealt with by such investigators. The 1st when I was stationary at a U-turn & two tearaways ran into me at 90kph. 'My' agent pleaded with me to sign his statement that my car was protruding into the road so the victims could benefit from my 1st Class Medical Insurance. The 2nd was after a service at Honda Motors. I attempted to enter the U-turn lane when a pick-up hit me in the rear after overtaking a slower vehicle at 150kph. 'My' agent left his office in Honda; sauntered across three lanes and with a tape measure proved the point of impact was just off-centre so I had moved into the path of the on-coming vehicle.
  4. Agreed the word, 'torched' is ill-chosen and immediately reminded me of lots of other blazes shortly after the renewal of Fire Insurance policies.
  5. There is only ONE effective solution which Thailand will not grasp. I am always amazed at the irony of mask-wearing, health-conscious Thais wallowing in canine faeces/urine on every soi and allowing dogs into 7-11s/restaurants.
  6. So all the hollow noises about fighting corruption in Thailand have come to naught?
  7. Watched 'Last Stop in Yuma County' - very Tarantino-esque. TGF was drawn in; not much dialogue to baffle her.
  8. For big cases like this sensational murder case, the local Plod are able to track suspects using CCTV for many miles. For all the other murders on the roads daily, there is total inactivity.
  9. I watched The Red King recently & struggled, in particular, with one female character whose delivery was semi-incomprehensible. If I'd been directing her I'd have replaced her dialogue with Welsh so subs were a necessity. After six slow-moving episodes everything ended in a rush.
  10. No mention anywhere in the comments of visiting a gold-leafed temple and its attached market complete with Dancing Girls?
  11. And must be a superfluous General in the Army.
  12. Yet it is entitled Pattaya News. As Jacko says there is already a section for your part of the whole country. I commented merely to question its placement as a curiosity of Asean Now site. It does not warrant your unpleasantness; perhaps that's a symptom of living in Songkhla Hat Yai?
  13. Well said. Pattaya Plod's non-interference road policy scores another victim.
  14. A police force? A visible police force? An active police force?
  15. I thought the armed forces told the Government what their strategic initiatives should be?
  16. See what we did to all those foreigners who invested in Cannabis shops/farms.
  17. and the reputation of Thailand's Governance as they seek weekly to implore foreign investment in the Kingdom.
  18. I am reporting it with my 1st comment. Please see Jacko's comment above for a more reasonable response than yours.
  19. I once spent a week in Hat (RAT) Yai. I'd lived in UK 62 years and seen ONE rat. My 1st/only visit to this town the rats were sitting under tables in restaurants waiting for left-overs! I was visiting my son who killed fifty+ cockroaches every night we went out.
  20. Another triumph for Pattaya Plod's non-interference police on the roads.
