  1. Life is treated so cheaply!

Especially if you're Burmese... But hopefully she will be reincarnated to a better life.

again shabby police work, witness stated the truck was travelling at high speed, it would have needed to break, so they could have taken the tyre marks to indicate the speed at impact, oh he didnt smell of booze, did they breath test him???

this man should be charged with death by dangerous driving, and let the courts decide from the evedince if or not to let him go

    Amazing thailand

  2. He had a motive for being on the boat. He had the right and permission to be there. The timing of the storm accounts for his presence at that specific time.

    All of which negates suicide.

Suicide is done when you have the time. Not when you are out shopping and busy.

Yet we are expected to accept a man on a mission thiks he'll kill himself instead.

And then there's the method which all of us in our darkest movements have thought we'd do it with a plastic bag. Obvious choice. As obvious as Wolves beating Liverpool. A plastic bag then. No pills or booze and a gentle slip into oblivion.

    No.

Preferring to die slowly by way of suffocation, conscious, writhing on the floor fighting for breath. Sure. Wolves 3 Man City 0. Make that 4. And away from home too.

On a yacht where the booze is free and 50 baht buys enough strong pain killers to send you off and the rest of a football team too.

No sign of robbery. Well allow to me summise but then I thought yachts were all about compact fittings, fastened down furniture etc, in fact nothing that isn't nailed, screwed, glued down. The sea, if I remember correctly, tends to go up and down. Hence, yacht furnishings down.

Then again he won't have ridden there by bike so that won't have been left knocked over. No shopping thrown around as he didn't live there; no ironing to do, TV to watch or drawers to empty.

    Then there's no note.

Going to all that trouble to get there to kill yourself would at least warrant a 'goodbye'.

But the considered view of the police is suicide.

    Makes less paperwork then.

    I give up.

It sounds like the police don't have to.They never start.

    Hopeless.

Some poor sod is wiped out and they can't be arsed as life is cheap and farang life is cheapest.

Maybe you should write a mystery novel? What a load of tripe... The man is dead, may he rest in peace!

i actually thought his post was spot on, and if anyone in the force had a brain for criminal investigation, then they might be thinking the same thing...

wasnt there a policeman a few weeks ago who concluded his son must have died from the cold ( 26oc ) , see its not only the ferang they dont give a shit about, its everyone, they are NOT POLICE like in the western world, but CORRUPT mafia types who are only in the job to earn Back handers and protection money

  3. Not much people at all and even the bargals have fleed the island. I do feel pity for the investors but i also bear in mind that its the investor who makes the choise to cash up.

A family of 2+2 who buy the full package of flights and hotel nights will simply not pay the 6-700€ surcharge compaired to other destinations in Thailand. The companies in Europe knows this and they promote Phuket and Krabi where its "cheap" to ship their customers.

Unless Bangkokair drasticly (and i think they will dorolleyes.gif ) reduce their pricepolicy then Koh samui will turn to a ghostisland with many empty shady concrete buildings and just a few leftover lads hanging around the 3 7-eleven shops left,1 in chaweng and 2 in lamai, looking for cheap beer.

    Cheers and marry christmas

Good post. The flights are near full....but usually you can't get one at all by now.

5-6 fewer daily bkk-usm-bkk flights than previous year. Mid dec you could book a seat on EACH flight the next day and when i checked around 6pm you could go to bkk on 3 flights and to samui on 2 flights that evening. Big lol at your comedian post.

    Happy holliday lifeguardbunny

Edit 1307 Dec 24 Tomorrow there are seats avaible on 10 flights bkk-usm best price 3690bt on 7 am flight

I'm not sure why you describe it as a comedian post but I can tell you that all of the places are quieter this year. Folks just don't have the money for expensive trips to SEA at the moment.

As said before usually you have to wait a week for a plane at this time of year...not now on any route.

as smokie mentioned above, there are just so many deals on offer, and people are not prepared to pay full price anymore !,

there is no real deals to be had on samui , and with the price of flights to the island, this is putting people off

The TOT samui needs to come up with a plan soon

  4. Heartfelt tributes have been paid to a medical student who was killed in a moped accident in Thailand.

Joshua Scott-Paul, 28, who was born and raised in Ely, died on Sunday in the accident on the island of Koh Samui.

Joshua and his wife Sarah had been due to fly back to the UK later that day.

His mum and dad, Mike and Rachel, who live in Back Hill, said his death has left a huge hole in their lives.

  5. How did you book this flight ?

I tried to get a price on a flight to the UK over Songkran in April for about 12 nights and nothing is coming up as available on the Eva Air website. It's been this way for a while now, no flights are showing up between Bangkok and London at all around Songkran.

Eva Air air doing direct Economy for 600-650 Pounds depending on dates, and they are doing Premuim Economy for 899 , seems the same price what ever date you travel over Songkran

  6. an interesting state to know would be

How much do the medical facilties of samui make per year from crashes? ..... as an example an expat who had a crash before and sent back to the uk had a bill of 200K, with an average crash ( 3 day stay ) coming to at least 60-70 K ......

i would probably put it into the 10's of Billions ......

there was a rumour before that the hospitals put a block on any safty campaign ect, as protecting tourists and driving down road crashes will effect a few ' peoples ' bank balances

  7. Well, I have an ED visa, no idea what this company's plans are . . . do you have to make 65 K just to get a work permit?

No, it's possible to obtain a WP at 30 K/month depending on your nationality. But to get the one year extension (i.e. not make a border crossing every 90 days) you need to show 65 K/month to immigration (and the income tax paid on 65 K).

i know many people on this visa, but have never had to show 65 K, me included
