  2. Great...when is Waitrose moving in?.....time to dust off the credit cards.....

In all seriousness though I don't believe it.

Samui could do with an Asda, they have some good deals on at the moment...

Anyway, is it Tesco opening a shopping Centre, or will it be like a Central? .. would make sense to turn into a central Plaza type place, they have the space

  3. I don't wish to offend anybody on here and of course everybody is entitled to their opinion, but at the end of the day I don't see why anybody has to justify themselves to anonymous users of this forum. For all those that want to know what happened and what the situation is with the insurance, why don't you just phone Julie or go and meet with her and see the documents and pictures for yourself.

    thanks for the link

    interesting part to the page

He was using a minibus company and on the way back from the Malaysian border, the driver lost control going to fast round a bend.

so no mention of a truck hitting the van, but a simple case of a in experiance driver going to fast and losing control

i hope Ryan gets well soon

  4. I remember reading an article within the past year..it was an interview with this professor from one of the BKK universities..and his estimates that BKK will be totally submerged within the next 10-20 years....I can see it happening with all the climate changes coupled with the over development mess......The "2012 catastrophe" that many people believe in outlined a map of what they believe will be the "new world"..and if you look at Thailand...everything south of (appprox) Korat will be completely gone

i cant find them, but i did post in the bangkok forum this month a wikileaks cable released from the US embassey , which stated bangkok would be underwater by 2025 ish, and they should be making measures,

i will try to find this cable again

  5. With nothing to hide I can post in my name, correct? Julie

Is there any good news? Gossip makes bad news, didn't get that back home, think not. We need facts. As an ex special constable I have witnessed many misfortunes back home but have to determine liability - proof - truth - fact.

This was her opinion back then. Well?

i was thinking the same thing, now the shoe is on the other foot, she has gone shhhh...

so julie, as you mentioned before , can we please have

    proof - truth - fact

    as

    Gossip makes bad news
  6. I know a company that offers full insuurence and i am off with them for my next run.

    British airways . whoooosh

Hope that you are not on one of their codeshare flights with Qantas - They have been grounded!:o

so should visa run companies and all mini buses that dont have insurance , drivers that have had no training to drive a bus and buses/public transport with warn tyres/dodgy brakes ect ............

  7. Just over the border, fulfill there sexual needs and going back.

You mean the majority of Thailand's tourism comes from Malaysia a Muslim country for sex in Thailand? I find that hard to believe. TAT never mentions why Malaysian tourists come to Thailand.

Wiki says Malaysia is a clear leader in Thai tourism. They can't all be coming for sex. I thought all the sex tourism stuff was for old Western blokes. You mean to tell me that Malaysia is the sex tourism leader in Thailand!

There must be another reason. We are talking millions of people per year. If they are all going down South for sex then the flooding will be of no consequence to Malaysian tourism. Is that correct?

Yep thats right, they just pop over the border for a quick shag. Don't buy into the stereotypes, there are far more brothels in Thai only areas than any where else.

    i think there a 3 segments here

    1) the tour operators, you see a few malaya tour buses in phuket and samui, but they are made up of mainly saga holidays

    2) the sex tourists which there are thousands in the south

    3) Traders and shoppers, if you spend 15 mins at a malaya border crossing , there are thousands crossing into thailand to the markets ect , just for a few hours shopping then they go back, so they are probably counting all these people in there figures as well

    4) traders / workers / lory drivers

you cant really count malaya as full tourists really,

  8. The problem is that many tourists arrive in Thailand, rent out these motorbikes and have little or no experience of driving motorbikes and Thailand`s road systems.

Some years ago I witnessed a Spanish tourist in Chiang Mai, drive out of his guesthouse and straight into a pickup on a main road. He suffered multible injuries, broken bones and cuts.

It soon became obvious that this was his first time he had ever used a motorbike.

i have seen this many times over , and sometimes it is also the thais !.. drunk

but how do you solve the problem?

  9. A British man embarrassed to find the woman he hired for sex was really a man received a stiletto to the head when he refused to pay the transvestite prostitute’s full rate.

John Barnes, 46, suffered a deep cut to the scalp around 4 a.m. Oct. 14 at the corner of Beach and Central roads. Sawang Boriboon medics stitched him up as police did likewise his confessed attacker, Cambodian illegal alien Ranee Pheb, 30.
