If one looks at other countries, the same trend has been around for some time. Cities being the worst for lack of community / neighborly...
I feel for the 'older' guys who come over and move up country guess that must be pretty hard at times.
Its been over 10 years since I have been in the UK and I dare say things are, as you say the same there.....
True that. I enjoy stints to see the family upcountry, but much prefer living in the burbs of BKK.

You're telling me Para, I once thought I was part of a community, but after some years here that illusion has gone. I now know I'm part of nothing, and I curse the day I ever set foot in this place. If I only knew then what I know now. And the rest of you, don't tell me to go home. I can't anymore, and on top of that, it seems that I've soiled myself. Now if you will all excuse me!
My condolences to Ronnie's friends and family, let's all hope that someone, somewhere has been truly affected by his untimely passing.
That's sad. Glad I have my friends and family around me here. That I can take care of and who can take care of me.

What parts of Bangkok are it most prevalent?

"Surapong said he wanted to look his Cambodian counterpart Hor Namhong in the eye, "in order to cause him to lose his concentration"."
I'd certainly lose my concentration if I had to look that old troll in the eye for any period of time!

I'd rather poke hot moo ping sticks into my eye than be forced to respect somebody.
Most (but not all) Thai people love and expect to be subjugated by those ranked higher than them. Feeds their victim mentality.

Some people might remember 05-08 Thai Rice Millers came under firs for putting in LOWER GRADES of rice in their highest grade Thai Jasmine bags and selling it - overseas. Right there Vietnam picked up a good 20 per cent of the high grade jasmine market. Seattle Asian food mart Uwajimaya had a running spat because of the Thai Jasmine it bought being in reality lower grade. They started promoting Vietnamese Jasmine to their customers
And now this .... its like shooting yourself in the foot two times

They should put the final episode on Youtube! Think of the hits they would get.

I generally use Skype with no problem.
When I want to call someone on the phone to the US, I use the 006 number, with True. Not free, but one hour of crystal clear calling for 180 baht ain't bad. They have a cheaper one for about 100 Baht an hour thats lower quality but I can spare the extra 80 Baht to talk to mum.
Skype is mostly behind computer and the quality is sometimes quite poor.
And, if you use a provider for Baht 180/hr (US$ 6,00/hour) why not useTalkatone if it is 100% free; sitting on the beach or on a terrace, using WiFi ?
But, OK, I asked for members with experience so I'll be waiting for those who are already connected with them.
I can use Skype on my phone, if there is Wifi, just the same as what you are talking about. And I assume that the product you are promoting has a quality of call dependent on the Wifi strength, just like Skype.I like using the 006 service because I never have any connection problems. I can call directly to people's mobile or landlines in the States. They do not need to have Wifi, they just pick up their phone. I don't need to use Wifi either...perfect time for me to chat to the family is on my drive to work, where it can be a bit difficult to connect to a Wifi spot!

You can save it as a word file within the pages program.

Much sympathy to the family of this boy, it must be the worst thing in the world to happen to a parent.
As well, Thailand is not alone in having random violence, I know my hometown in the States has several accidental shootings of people caught in the wrong place between gangs.
Still, a tragic loss.

Not sure what you mean by restrictions? I use ML and Itunes plays any MP3 I throw at it.

What % of the accidents is caused by reckless motorcycles? I see some crazy siht happening on the roads at New YEar and Songkran, almost all of it happening on two wheels though.

How come so many tourists can see it yet trained park rangers cannot spot, capture and relocate it, after two years? They need one of them croc hunter guys from Australia to take over!

Thailand has a duty to protect its citizens of all religions against violent insurgents.
And hence Abhisit is not guilty, but really, is a hero!

My question was about music, not apps.
You can buy or get music anywhere, in MP3 or AAC format, and just plunk it into your device without a problem. You don't need to buy music specifically for your ios device.

The protests in Bangkok were peaceful, there was no danger, except from the military.
Tell that to the countless civilians beaten and killed by gun-toting red shirts at the local market. Tell that to the hospital patients whose lives were threatened when the reds decided to raid the hospital next to the protest site. Tell that to the owners of the shopping malls they burned down, and to the BTS riders whose lives were in danger when they threatened to derail the trains. Tell that to the reds who tried to pull Abhisit out of his car and kill him. Tell that to the international dignitaries at the conference in Pattaya whose lives were threatened by the reds. Tell that to the snipers the reds had positioned everywhere, that picked off the red peasants as they tried to run away and hide in a temple. Tell that to the thousands of displaced businesses that had to close shop for several weeks because the 'protestors' occupied and owned several city blocks. Tell that to the red police who allowed it all to happen and who in the end forced Abhisit to call in the army to restore law and order from these bloody red shirt thugs.

My 10 years of experience as a driver in BKK taught me that the majority of Thai drivers are quite polite. But about 1 out of 15 drivers is a total animal with absolute disregard fro rules or safety. You just have to keep your eye out for the animals and let them by you.
