Stick Your Mister Where The Sun Don't Shine
JonnyF replied to Neeranam's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Indeed. Can you imagine if the hospital charged more for treatment based on the race/nationality of the patient and when sued, they were backed up by the courts and the government as happened in Thailand. It's deeply ironic that western countries are the most diverse, fair and accepting countries in the world while also being labelled as the most racist and xenophobic. We even "positively" discriminate against our own people for things like jobs and university places but it's never enough. I fear a massive backlash if this overreach is allowed to continue. -
Stick Your Mister Where The Sun Don't Shine
JonnyF replied to Neeranam's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I don't mind being called "Mister". I think they are trying to be polite and it's just their poor use of English. "Hey you, Farang" is the one that annoys me. I used to get it a lot when I lived in Phuket. If they were on their own (rare - they'd generally only do it when in groups) I'd reply "Hey you, Asian" and they didn't like it at all, proving they were well aware it was rude to address someone by referring to their race. -
Cabinet split over Sunak’s HS2 ‘gross act of vandalism’
JonnyF replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I wouldn't hold your breath. Much more likely she will start arguing against a position that you have never held and then call you a bigot for holding that imagined position. ???? I'm hoping Braverman replaces Sunak to be honest. Then all we need is for Starmer to forget what a woman is (again) and we can keep the war mongering, Britain hating, champagne socialists out of power for another 4 years. -
Joe Biden makes history by joining UAW picket line

You're right Billy. But then of course Joe wouldn't get his photo op which is the most important thing here, so shut up and get behind multi-millionaire "man of the people" Joe Biden. -

It's about Labour's brainchild, HS2. -
Cabinet split over Sunak’s HS2 ‘gross act of vandalism’
JonnyF replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Facts are facts. It was Labour's brainchild. The only mistake the Tories made was continuing with Labour's harebrained scheme. You act as though the result is a foregone conclusion. History tells us Labour will find a way to lose. God help the UK if they actually win one. -

Cabinet split over Sunak’s HS2 ‘gross act of vandalism’
JonnyF replied to Social Media's topic in World News
It was Labour's brainchild. Doomed to failure. Failure. It was Labour's brainchild. And where, pray tell, did I say he had already cancelled it? Oh that's right, I didn't. -

Good move by Sunak. HS2 is a massive waste of money. I'd axe the whole thing. -

Not indicating when turning left is a bit different to intentionally ramming a police road block. I'm not sure why you brought race into it. Baiting much? ???? -

I assumed the first paragraph of that post was sarcasm. Good to see you share my views on Floyd. Maybe read up on the criminal history of the guy shot by UK police. Similar characters... -

Guns are not the only dangerous weapons. You ban guns, people use cars and vans like London bridge in 2017. Just be glad you weren't walking your child down the road while he was ramming the police roadblock in his Audi Q8. You might have had less sympathy for him. Same as you might have had less sympathy for Floyd if you were one of his many victims of cowardly crimes. -

What would you recommend? Give him a warm glass of milk and a copy of one of Robin DiAngelo's novels? Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. He'd had already done 2 years for gun offenses. Now he is ramming a police roadblock in a car being stopped for gun crime the previous day. I would have preferred the shots were non fatal but when you take risks like that you take tour chances. He lost this time. Unfortunate. Next... -
UK: Met police request support from army after officers down firearms
JonnyF replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The police were not aware of that at the time. They had a driver who had previously been convicted of gun crimes, ramming them in a car that was linked to a gun incident the previous day. Why are you siding with the criminal ramming the police? Are you one of those Antifa defund the police types? (serious question not trolling). -

Deliberately misspelling my name again? Pot. Kettle. Yes the defending of the convicted criminal Floyd and the defending of the convicted criminal in this case is a similarity I cannot ignore. Both suit your race baiting anti police far left agenda. -

He was innocent until proven guilty on gun possession charges. You liberals pick some strange martyrs. Floyd is another criminal held up as some kind of hero. Leave your divisive race baiting in the US. -

Just trying to import American racial issues to the UK. Popular amongst ultra priviliged American liberals like Markle and Winfrey. -

So why are you suggesting that the home secretary's comments would affect the trial? Maybe better to retract that comment if you don't have links to back it up. -

The CPS often bring cases where the result is not guilty. I suspect the same will happen here. Meanwhile, the Army are required to police London. Marvellous. I bet those squaddies will be thrilled to be charged with murder when stopping someone trying to smash through their roadblock in an Audi Q8.
