Russell Brand: BBC and Channel 4 investigate allegations
JonnyF replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Well, Spider Mike said he could tell he was guilty (of rape) just by looking at him. However, when people refer to trial by social media that is obviously not restricted to this website. Plenty on X saying he is guilty for example. -
Rishi Sunak considers weakening key green policies
JonnyF replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Yes. The Tories have been pretty useless for the last couple of years. Any competent party would destroy them. Labour won't. -

Luckily his opponent is Starmer, who recently u-turned and admitted that a woman is an adult human female. But depite Stamer's recent epiphany, there's plenty of time for him to grab defeat from the jaws of victory on other issues. Labour always do. -

What are you talking about Chomhpherh? Do you not know the difference between canceling/deplatforming someone and suing them for libel? They are 2 completely different things. But you already knew that... -

Due process. He needs to be tried fairly before he is labeled a rapist and has his career destroyed. Simple really. -

Not worth your time and yet you wrote a whole paragraph on it.???? You can't answer without conceding I am correct. Maybe best you just stop drawing attention to that fact... -

Threatening to take legal action against someone for libel is not 'canceling' someone. But Chohmpher already knows that. -

He isn't being kicked out for not following rules. He is being kicked out because of the accusations of rape. -

Strawman. What people are asking for is due process instead of trial by media. But you already knew that... -

Who knows? There hasn't been a trial yet. From the message it sounds like consensual sex without a condom. -

So if he creates his own version of YouTube and posts a video, that is proof that he hasn't been cancelled? ???????? You're on top form today Chohmpherh. Good stuff ???? -

Is that the best you've got? ???? I wasn't looking for a quote from one of your fridge magnets. You won't answer because you know I am correct. Answering truthfully would highlight that. The BBC, Channel 4 and YouTube are cancelling him. They are all left leaning. https://www.forbes.com/sites/evangerstmann/2021/03/22/what-is-cancel-culture/?sh=18e7a4c9bd55 -

Possibly, but that's not how I read it. When a girl inists I wear a condom I'm thinking sex is on the cards. As would most men. Here's a crazy idea. Maybe a trial would be helpful to establish what happened before we ruin his life by canceling his life's work? -

No to what? To sex without a condom? When a girl insists on a condom, it suggests she is consenting to sex. Or was she insisting on a condom before they started doing the laundry? -

Sounds like an argument over a condom. Like she asked him to wear one and he refused, or maybe secretly took it off during the act. This is why it's a good idea to have a trial in a court, rather than by social media. -

You don't think the BBC, Channel 4 and YouTube are left leaning? Or you don't think they are cancelling him? -

Let's add the BBC and Channel 4 to YouTube. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12535315/Russell-Brand-removed-BBC-iPlayer-sex-assault-claims.html Funny how the cancellers are always left leaning. -
Rishi Sunak considers weakening key green policies
JonnyF replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Nonsense. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/01/13/reaching-net-zero-would-cost-taxpayers-twice-much-no-10s-estimates/ Support? How does one support a policy without voting for them? Are you implying I stand outside Number 10 Waving a Tory scarf and chanting "There's only one Rishi Sunak"? -
Rishi Sunak considers weakening key green policies
JonnyF replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Wait until they see how much it's going to cost them. You think Sunak is rolling back on this because he thinks it's a vote loser? https://www.ipsos.com/en-uk/public-support-majority-net-zero-policies-unless-there-is-a-personal-cost PS I don't vote Tory, but nice Strawman. Bravo. -
He's certainly not wasting any time trying to extract every last Baht from the population. I'm guessing he had a bit of a shock when he was allowed to have a look at the books and saw how much has been stolen from the country since 2014. Now he's in a panic trying to make sure the place doesn't go down the pan. After 9 years with the snouts in the trough, the carcass has been stripped to the bone and tax payers are going to be fleeced to pay for it.
