Every accusation/insult that was thrown at Brexiteers for wanting to be Independent of the EU could be thrown at Scottish nationalists. Fortunately for you, you've got no chance of leaving. That doesn't contradict my argument. It says that many deprived people are obese. I am not arguing against that point, I have seen it for myself and have commented to that effect many times, albeit in a less PC way (I have observed it's often the tattoo covered, unemployed from the council estates with lots of young children in tow who are the most obese). I am arguing that a lack of education and a negative culture is to blame, not a lack of money (since healthy food can be obtained for the same price as unhealthy food, and eating less food costs less than eating more food). Also, excess alcohol consumption and a lack of exercise in deprived areas with high levels of unemployment plays a large part in obesity, moreso than not being able to afford the healthy options in the supermarket. Perhaps it is you that should educate yourself, instead of blaming the Tories for a lack of personal responsibility often found in certain socio-economic groups?

Actually it would be cheaper for them to buy the ingredients and cook a healthy meal, but many are simply too lazy to do that. So they buy ready meals off the shelf. Even then, there are ready meals that are healthy and the packaging clearly states fat, sodium content etc. but many are just not interested. Why buy fruit when you can buy crisps and chocolate? All this talk of using food banks but the obesity levels in the UK are staggering. The same people also seem to be able to find the cash for bad tattoos as well. Money for tats? Check Money for fags? Check Money for booze? Check Money for iPhone? Check Money for food? Blame the Tories for forcing me to get a job or use foodbanks.

The SNP was campaigning for independence long before Brexit was on the cards. It's just an excuse to try to justify another vote. If they were to get another vote and lose again, they'll simply come up with another reason to run it again. Same as Brexit, sometimes the losers just won't accept they've lost. The 2014 vote was decisive. Most Scots wish to stay which is not surprising given the great deal they've been given by the government.

I suspect this will cause Xi to double down on his zero Covid policy. He won't allow himself to be seen as weak and pandering to the protesters. I'd expect further lockdowns, and increasing force used by the authorities. Terrible for the Chinese people (but good for residents of tourist areas of Thailand).

Actually they made a very rational decision in 2014. I suggest you check Sturgeon's record on drugs, education etc. before you criticize the English government too much. Although, like many Scottish nationalists you do seem to have a history of disliking and blaming the English for everything.

Sometimes people need to be protected from themselves. An independent Scotland would be a disaster, a failed state. There are so many reasons why they should remain in the UK it's not even funny. Don't let a few anti-English nationalist extremists shout down the majority.

Given the Woke nonsense being preached in many schools and universities, this can only be a good thing. I do feel sorry for the students though, first of all Covid, then strike action. 2020-2023 must be the worst period in history to be a student, and that's before anyone has introduced you to the work of Robin DiAngelo. As for the postal service, the standards are so low when they are working that nobody will notice when they go on strike.

Sturgeon is the one calling for another referendum. I have no problem with voting. As long as the result of the vote is accepted and not re-run until the "correct" result is reached. Scotland already voted to stay in the UK in 2014. It's been decided already.

Nah. Sturgeon is just using that as an attempt to justify re-running the vote. She wants to ruin Scotland for her own personal ambition. She'd rather have total power over an unsuccessful country than limited power over a successful one. I don't think the Scots are silly enough to fall for it.

Keep activism and politics out of sport. It should be a uniting force not a divisive one. I don't need uneduated footballers telling me what to think. Let them virtue signal elsewhere. I don't think a thorough investigation into this shady, sordid affair can really be classified as burning the house to the ground. I can see why you wish it would all just fade away though. I'm against it. Too easy to "switch someone off" if they hold the wrong opinion, protest the wrong party etc. Also, I like the anonymity of cash. I don't want records of every place I've been, every taxi I've taken, every meal I've eaten. Nothing to do with having something to hide, it's the basic human right to a bit of privacy from the government. They are there to serve us, not spy on us and decide when we can have access to our money.
